You can actually sell old Diehard GameFans for money. Most magazines of the era are worthless unfortunately.

Ya, they're probably worth more than all the comics I bought in the '90s combined. (Who would have thought. Terrible decade.)

I actually think old gaming magazines might be worth keeping just because print is dying in general and most of those issues are being pulped. As people of that era get up their in age, they'll want to relive their childhood and they might shell out money for them.

I know there's a market for vintage Playboys for that reason.

Only thing is, a lot of the writing in those 90's game magazines is terrible. Playboy actually had good writers and interesting articles going for it.

I still have the first ~150 Nintendo Power (missing issues two and three) under my bed at my parents house. My childhood home got destroyed by a flood in '08, yet my parents saved the stacks of those.

I'm going to keep them because of their dedication alone.

I subbed to Nintendo Power in their late days. I kept all the ones with issues of games I was extremely excited for. I still have the Pokemon Platinum issue.

I had around 1,000 magazines, mostly gaming, that I finally got mostly rid of five years ago.

First off, Frank Cifaldi (magweasel) never replied to my attempts to see if he wanted any of the issues I had. Considering I had some fairly rare stuff I think he just wasn't interested in dealing with picking up random scraps or something. Oh well!

Otherwise just look to eBay or other methods. I ended up making around $700 from those I sold. I mostly did them in lots of 12-20 issues (mostly did year bundles or combined partial years). Also, be fairly exact with the condition and be willing to take pictures and collectors will be fairly quick to snag them up even if they're not in great condition.

It takes some time and effort but anyone with stacks of magazines should be able to make some simple spending cash. Maybe not anything big but it beats just recycling them.

Man, I've been sitting here thinking about saying I'd take any old gaming magazines and PayPal anyone who has them the shipping costs...but man I don't know. One of those things I would appreciate and love to check out but on the other hand I know it's a bad idea...

Really kinda want a shitload of old gaming magazines though...

Wow, it seems like old GamePro magazines sell for a whole lot on eBay. More than the old EGM and Next Generation issues I have.

Those were the first gaming magazines I threw out. I don't think I kept any. Damn.
