What will Sony show at the VGAs?

Not a lot.

Indies and the full Uncharted reveal. Then we all sit back and wait for E3 to be shown games we wont play until 2015.

Absolutely fucking nothing because all of Sony's shows get vastly overhyped by the press & GAF so don't expect anything decent at all.

Uhh we got The Last of Us at the VGAs last year and that was a surprise that caught everyone off guard. As for vastly overhyped, lol.

I'm really worried about Santa Monica's game. It's been in development since 2010 and we've seen nothing.

probably just lots of pre-production. i'd expect it to really kick into gear now ascension is finished.

i doubt we'll see it at the vga's though. probably at e3 next year. the order and uncharted are probably their big fall 2013 games, they should focus on those. maybe announce slightly smaller stuff like bend studio (really excited to see what they're doing now it's obviously not uncharted) or media molecule.

I think there's a big, nay, massive chance of seeing Sony Santa Monica's new IP there. They've been on it for over 2 and a half years. It's coming.

Sony Santa Monica's new game will be shown and released in 2015

Media Molecule's game will be shown and released in early 2015

I was wondering what VGX was when they advertised it on the stream......looks like its a return to the spike awards :/

I may be wrong but for some reason it seems like Uncharted is early to me. I get the feeling that Santa Monica's new game is further along, but it doesn't make since to tease a new IP at an even like All Access. People keep on saying that Uncharted 4 is going to be a 2014 title, but I just don't see that happening.

Surprisingly Uncharted got already unveiled at the Access event and not at the VGAs like I thought. So is Sony even going to unveil anything new there or just show Uncharted gameplay perhaps? That seems doubtful though and waiting for E3 to unveil new PS4 titles sounds just as unlikely.

Here are the studios/teams that are unaccounted for:

  • Sony Japan Studio - TLG
  • Sony Santa Monica - Stig's game
  • Sony London - ?
  • Sony Bend - ?
  • Guerilla Games - New IP
  • Media Molecule - New IP
  • Quantic Dream - Singularity

We know what the other studios are doing pretty much. Naughty Dog seems busy with Uncharted and Last of Us DLC. Safest bet seems to be SSM or Media Molecule. What do you guys think?

Oh yeaaahhhh!!!!

I like how you think OP.

Hopefully an RPG comes out.

I'm really worried about Santa Monica's game. It's been in development since 2010 and we've seen nothing.

We've heard enough that we shouldn't be worried, really.

Game has had a full-time writer working on the title for 2 years. ( which means that the concept and story ideas has been fully baked and been on the works for that long )

Full staff of Ascension are now crunching on that game, which means it's past pre-production and well into building levels/assets.

We need Verendus and Mort(who was right about Uncharted) to give use some juicy tidbits about SCE games next year. We need the hype train to keep on rolling.

PaRappa the Rapper 3 please. x_x

Normally I would say this but PaRappa hardly seems like the kind of game that would be appreciated if it were revealed at an event like the VGAs, unfortunately. Heck, last year I'm pretty sure there weren't any reveals for games not rated M.

Well, we've got the descriptions of each studios next game by Shu yesterday.
Gonna watch it again tomorrow, but he said :

Bend "Panic"
SSM "Scary".

Don't renember the rest though.

Edit:
Okay, I've watched it again :

Guerilla Games "epic"
Bend "Panic"
Media Molecule "Extraordinary"
SSM "scared"

Let's add some years

Santa Monica - nearly 4 years in dev
- Stig making new IP since GoW3
- Some resources could have gone to GoWA
- Some resources could have gone to helping other studios

Bend - nearly 2 years in dev
- making next big game after Uncharted GA
- small team could have made Fight for Fortune card game

Guerilla Games - unknown
- No idea how long Guerilla Games 2nd team starting working on new IP, perhaps a lot of their resources went to Killzone Shadowfall

Media Molecule - nearly 3 years in dev
- making new IP since LBP2
- Some resources gone into helping make LBP Vita
- Small team making Tearaway

Haven't looked into Japan or London as those teams are too large and hard to tell what resources goes into what. As you can tell from the above list it is not accurate due to variables of resources taken from the studio on other projects, however we know around how long new projects from the teams have been in development from by a guess. If I had to guess we will either see Santa Monica or Media Molecule game announced next.

BINGE RESPONSIBLY.

What the heck is that suppose to mean in the context of the VGX?

Anyway, I'm sure they'll show Uncharted, The Order and whatever SSM is doing (although I think they'll leave this for E3).

I'm not going fall into hype again. Keep low expectation.

New trailer for The Order, with some gameplay moments

Bout how I feel, though I can see the last guardian happen as little as I care about the game.(Nothing against the series I just haven't played shadow of the colossus.)

We need Verendus and Mort(who was right about Uncharted) to give use some juicy tidbits about SCE games next year. We need the hype train to keep on rolling.

Whatever gets announced, it won't seem new to us, because it will have been leaked here first.

Uncharted trailer and The Order gameplay at a minimum.

At the most, for me. People keep on talking up the VGAs and people kept on talking up All Access, but we're likely going to get two major reveals at most. The people that keep on saying The Last Guardian can't be serious. That game has E3 written all over it. That's their ace in the hole at E3.

They will show something but I wouldn't count on much from Sony's 1st parties.
It'll mostly be a EA/Activision/Ubi/Square/etc showing.
Maybe a full Uncharted 4 trailer and more details on already announced games.
2014 looks pretty packed for PS4 already and I have doubts about Uncharted 4 being a 2014 game so there is no reason to rush with new announcements.
