Where Winds Meet |OT| Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Didn't have this on my radar at all, and I'm seeing it has fun combat, pretty ladies and is well optimized all while being F2P?

Where's the catch here?

Just found a wiki where they made a map to explain the menus... :

What The Hell Wtf GIF
This has more level design than a Skyrim dungeon, what the fuck. :goog_relieved:

Expensive Cosmetics and Stamina/Energy system that limits certain activities.

Found a Steam post that explains it concisely. I think Energy is also used when farming PvE and PvP Bosses and Raids.

Will not affect me that much. And the game has been fun wacko story notwithstanding. And can't argue with the price of Free.

Energy is consumed when you perform specific actions that generate resources or profit, including:

• Gathering materials (plants, herbs, resources)
• Crafting certain items
• Performing some Life Profession activities
• Some money-making tasks
• Certain Jianghu identity actions

Combat and questing generally do not consume Energy.

Energy regenerates passively over time.
It can also be refilled with:

• Certain consumables
• Resting at inns
• Weekly refresh caps
• Scheduled recoveries from events or bonuses

This means casual players should not be punished long-term.

Most Chinese player feedback says:

• You have a daily soft cap on profit/resource actions
• There are weekly caps on certain high-value crafting outputs

This should prevent the economy from being flooded.

When your Energy runs low:

• You can still fight
• You can still quest and explore
• You can still level skills
• You can still do PvP, social play, story, parkour

It mainly affects repeated economic loops.

Yeah, I don't think any of this will affect me any as I only have a few hours a week I can spend.

Hot damn, character creation in this game is insanely good.

And it already comes with some amazingly good looking characters already built.

Chinese VA is a must for this, but I got say, it's rather up to keep up with the subtitles and the action on the screen.

Also DS5 works perfectly well on steam version of the game.

It's fully prompted.

So I started on PS5 yesterday.
Today I succeeded in loading the game on Steam deck and wanted to link my account so cross progression works.
You have to link the new account before creating a character, but can only access the user center in main menu after creating a new character which then negates the ability to link the accounts... Are they fucking kidding me?

Shit, really? I just started the game, might redo the tutorial and link my accounts.

EDIT: naguanatak naguanatak I just tried linking my accounts before deleting the current one that I have and it worked.

I created my NetEase account, then linked it in the game (Currently playing on steam).

Then proceeded with the PSN one and it connected both without any issues.

Cross progression linking is working without any problems.

I started a new game on Steam deck and thought I exit out of the game before creating a character, maybe the user center is available in the main menu then...it wasn't.
I then booted the PS5 and successfully linked the PS5 account to a newly created netease account.
But I still cannot link my steam account since it created its own game account after playing the tutorial on steam deck. So I cannot link my steam account to the same netease account because the system sees them as two separate accounts that have characters associated with them.

I wrote an email to support to delete my game account associated with my steam account, but I don't know how long that will take. After that, I could log into PS5 and link my steam account from ingame.
The other work around would be to create a new steam account on the deck and link that to my PS5 account within the game, but then I have a new steam account just to play this game :messenger_grinning_sweat:

It's my first f2p game and I'm just overwhelmed by all the options, possibilities, abilities, settings et cetera. But graphics are ok.

Anyone else get past the Yanyun Oath puzzle?

Look for these symbols and light them up:
  • Left Wall: 山 河 寸 土
  • Right Wall: 誓 死 不 易

Yeah I heard you are stuck with your character. There's items to change your looks, but your character is bound to your account.

Wandering around the different places and getting randomly blasted by full volume screams is not fun. Is there a way to turn that shit off?

Enhanced Background Audio?
I don't think that's it.

Someone posted some Reddit videos above, I guess people can leave "voice messages" in the world that play automatically when you go to a certain spot. In my case, someone left a "voice message" that is just them screaming into their mic at full volume, and it triggers every time I go through the doorway into the first town area. At first, I thought my speakers were broken because it's so jarring / scratching / annoying sounding that it's easily 20–30 decibels higher than the game's music.

It's bad enough that I don't think I'm going to keep playing this...

That's awful. Are you in solo or co-op mode because I haven't ran across that and I'm in Solo mode advancing.

I selected solo mode at the start of the game. Very weird.

Funny thing about this puzzle is if you take the survey in game there is a reference to it as a minus. I play solo with all the communications and tips from the players disabled, but luckily you find one in front of the statue. Another tip is in the blind goddess mission, I got trolled demon's souls style lol.
I'm really enjoying the game as my first mmo/solo(?), the menus are a bit confusing at first but once you do the same thing two or three times it's ok. This game really put to shame western devs and I'd like to have more infos about how the game was made (number of devs, engine, budget...) it's really impressive and FREE. I'll buy some of their mtx just to show support.

I started the game and rhe production values are insane in the first sequence. But then all of a sudden the game changes to pre recorded cutscenes and they look like a 360p video from YouTube. Why do developers do this crap man?

It's ridiculous

Why isn't walk integrated in the joystick movement? Having to push L2 plus left stick to walk is definitely a choice lol

Graphics are beautiful and performance is really good but some choices are a little bit weird here

Unless your primary platform is going to be the PS, don't link your accounts unless you are going to play completely F2P.

I fucked up and linked accounts and now I can't purchase anything through Steam because of Playstation. It says "purchases aren't allowed here, use PSN". It gets worse, anything you buy on PS only shows up on PS and you can't even redeem anything outside PS. Even unlinking the PSN account bricks purchases on Steam or Netease accounts.

Combine this with the single character and already fubar account system and it's a total shit show. Like I said, I love the game but this is completely stupid makes me not even play until they fix this mess.

Where did you start playing the game?

Because if you started on PS5 first, then move to Steam, that's what locks you out from buy things on PC.

It's a server thing on Sony side. If you create your account for the game on PS5, they immediately lock you to their eco system, and all purchases have to go through there.

Was planning on selecting the dual blades as my side weapon, but ended up going with the umbrella since is a banger range weapon with cool animations.

Supposedly also has healing abilities.

How the hell do you post signs in this game? I can't find out 😭

Also there are a lot of cool cosmetics locked being achievements, which is pretty damn nice.

Of course the better looking ones will most likely be locked behind Mt, but from what I saw in the gallery, there are really cool ones obtainable too.

Yeah, I know why it's done, I have Steam, PSN, and Netease all linked and can't buy anything from anyone but Playstation. Literally can't even buy directly from Netease on their own website/game because the Sony link fucked it all up. Even worse, I unlinked PSN and linked a Netease account and now both the Steam and Netease accounts have this same issue, even without the PSN account attached, so I could either reattach it, which I did, or have zero access to any of the online shit. And because of how Steam accounts work I can't delete the account and start over with new one. It's all so fucking stupid.

I have to say I enjoy the game a lot. I play it very slowly and try to soak the atmosphere and it really is just fun times. There are some things, that bothers me slightly, but nothing too serious.

Same, the potential here is insane.

Feels extremely fresh to me, specially because my contact with Wuxia things is pratically non existing.

And the photo mode is crazy good.

Just chatted with an NPC and asked directions to a healer and he gave me.

Then tried to make him show me the way, but I guess that's a bit too much, since he didn't move at all :messenger_tears_of_joy:

There's this npc in early game near the arena, that acts like a wise leader wannabe.

I tried to talk some sense into him, but he wouldn't budge.

I then ended up the conversation saying I should slap him.

He and his crew immediately went rogue on me 😂😂

The npc AI talk is a very creative way of using such tech within a game.

I have been watching game streamers playing this game. Looks fun and with lots of stuff to do and discover. Not enough to make me abandon Fallout 76 just because of the theme (swords & magic) as I prefer games with present or near future settings. I hope Ananta have WWM level of interactivity.

I wish this was Single Player, not another Pay 2 Win MMO.
It's really well done in its solo aspect. Outside the dialogue, there's some very interesting aspects to it that aren't seen in a ton of modern day games. You can even restart your quest from the objective if something glitchy happens.

Can someone explain to me or link me to a video about the monitization of this game?? I am thinking about starting it soon and I want to have an idea

Yup. I got bitten by this since I made my Star Rail account on PS5, so now that I mostly play it on PC, I can't purchase any of the bundles that show up in the store since it says I can only buy them on PS5. I can still grab BP, the monthly pass, and some deals from their external top-up website, but for the ones that are only in-game I have to go through the PSN payment system. Lesson learned, though I really wish they'd stop forcing this stuff in F2P games with cross-save progression between platforms.

I'm level 17 and barely did any main quest missions, just side quests and exploring.

Did the Crimson Cliff Moon Goddess sidequest and it's good. Exploration felt really nice.

Also the fighting tournament sidequest... That old man is constantly kicking my butt and I can't beat him.

If this was published by From Software media would be praising the crap out of this game.

Releasing this as a free to play game is completely insane.

There, I've said it.
