Xeno stories are heavily based on the works of famous philosophers mixed with takes on interpretations of similar subjects in religion. Knowledge of these subjects drastically changes the interpretation of what actually took place in the game.
Xenogears was mainly Frueds works and gnosticism
Xenosagas was a fairly weak, but overt work based on Friedrich Nietzsche's will to power.
Xenoblade Was based off of Gottfreid Leibniz's'The Monadology', Sacred mathematics, Pythogorean religion, and functional programming.
Knowing the monado is based off of monads completely brings to light what is actually going on in xenoblade, which is far more than 'a boy and a magical sword'.
Had localization say, renamed the monado 'light sabbre', and removed all the other aspects of the philosophy the game was originally based on, that entire aspect of the game would be destroyed and parts in game relating to it would be nonsensical.
The localization has already completely removed heavy references to jungian works, to make things 'sound cooler', and have already completely removed the rooted concept of the collective unconcious from at least the beginning of the game.
I am not confident in trusting them to notice what they have done and attempt to rectify it.
