Which PS3 games have their servers still up?

I was thinking about playing a bit of Modnation Racers today and i was wondering if the servers are still up?

Which other PS3 games still have their servers running?I know Demon's Souls Asian servers are still up because i replayed it a month ago.

Are GT6 servers still up? I will not be surprised if Sony kills them soon after GT Sport comes out (just like they did with GT5).

GT6 is still going. I got into a couple races in the past month when I've fired it up. I do agree that they'll probably shut it down not too long after Sport launches, though.

Regarding your first question, though, I also know for sure Uncharted 2/3, and, Killzone 2/3 are all still going.

Modnation Racers is still going strong! Unfortunately it won't work at all with a PS4 controller so I can't play it right now as my broken PS3 controller creates random inputs. I may buy a new PS3 controller just for this game. I really wish they would revive the franchise for the PS4. The LittleBigPlanet kart game never grabbed me like Modnation Racers did. Unfortunately it would have to be a new developer since UFG isn't around anymore. Now I'm sad.

I bought Motorstorm 1 a week ago and popped the games in and got no updates.

Is there anyway to download the time trial mode and other stuff or is the dream over.

Time Trial mode can be found as a free download on the PSN Store, but according to the Store page you need to have the game updated to version 1.2. The patch should still be able even though the servers are decommissioned. You can check for it manually by highlighting the game in the XMB, pressing triangle and selecting "check for update." Other wise, go to the Game Data Utility and see what the latest version installed is as you might already have the update. Edit: Glowsquid's post makes me think some versions of the game might have the patch data on the disc, in which case you probably just need to download the Time Trial add-on from the store.

If you're desesperate enough, Europe and Japan got a rerelease called Motorstorm Complete that includes all of the game's DLC and one new car along with the patch content baked-in.

Wasn't Motorstorm one of those goofy early PS3 games that required you to access the ingame multiplayer menu to download the patches (not sure)? The rumble patch for Resistance FoM is inaccessible because of that.

when I played FEAR 1 last year I checked and the servers were still up and there was like 3 people in a game, same with Bioshock 2

You know what, you may be right; been a while since I last played it. Man, early PS3 years were rough. Sucks if the Time Trial mode is inaccessible because of that.

Whaaaaaaattt???

I seriously cannot believe that

The PS Nation podcast has been hosting Warhawk Wednesdays again the last couple of months. One of the selling points of Warhawk is they handled multiplayer oldschool, so you can actually run the game on PS3 as a true dedicated server, not being able to play on it at the same time (they even added a trophy for doing that later on). All they need to keep Warhawk online going is being able to sign into PSN from a PS3, iirc. They were quite up front about that, if it gives any indication about general pessimism around the PS3's launch.

yeah, I hope hobbyists eventually figure out a way to make this stuff easily accessible. It's lame stuff like Resistance's Rumble Patch or the Regulation Files for Armored Core 4 aren't available anymore :/

This just another reason that the idea of games as a service are a joke. Digital only too. I always buy physical when I can because you never know when games will get delisted or servers shut down.

This is a list of offline games, so I guess anything not on here should be good to go. Unless some games are missing..

Thanks guys.I'm curious though,why those lists don't include MGS4?

Strange i tried both U2 and U3 a week or so ago (out of curiosity) and i just couldn't connect online at all.

Whoah great news!!I love Modnation Racers so much!Played countless of hours of local MP with some friends of mine as well as a fair amount of online races. The amount and quality of dowloadable content that was free was simply insane.I wish i could personally thank all those people who worked hard to create some incredible levels and characters and share them with the community.
And yes i would also love to see a new Modnation Racers, although yeah without UFG i don't know how good the game would end up.To be fair though i think Sony San Diego did a decent job as well with Roadtrip.

Most of them other than sports games. Same with 360, though, I think MS first party stuff is still up including stuff like PGR3 where I believe Resistance, MAG, and SOCOM are at least gone right?

Oh, and FFXI and PSU are gone obviously on Xbox 360 too.

The list I linked is Sony published games only. I don't know if there's a complete list out there, but this thread on PlayStation Trophies catalogs games with unachiveable trophies, which tends to overlap with server shutdowns. It's not going to be exhaustive because early PS3 games without trophies wouldn't show up, nor will games that still have achievables despite the multiplayer being offline.

Oh i see.I asked because it wasn't on Giant Bomb's list either.
