Who is buying an XBOX ONE Day One?

My PC will still be my main for multiplatform games but if it has exclusives I want and the price is right I will get one. Same with the PS4.

Probably eventually. I'm a sucker for the Gears of War series and with how that series has been staying Xbox exclusive and not ported over to the PC past #1.... Sigh. Crackdown will help too. And Halo.

Nope. Considering PS4, but probably won't. Definitely within the first year or so though.

I got a Wii U, 3DS, and 3DS XL day one though. Haven't missed a Nintendo launch (including the revisions) since the DS (and I've bought them all within launch window since the GBA).

I might depending on content. If the Remedy game looks good and there are a few Classic RARE IPs that look good I'll be there. I'm also curious what Black Tusk and the other studios are working on I want to see new IPs as well and maybe a few classic Xbox franchises returning.

I'll probably buy both at launch...it's such an exciting time. I think Microsoft and Sony are both going to have really good exclusive launch titles so it should be worth it. I'm a huge fan of both Sony and Microsoft.

I am getting one next gen console day one. Up until yesterday I was pretty sure it was going to be xb1. Now its a matter of price, games, and who launches first.

I know this forum has declared PS4 the official console of the next gen. But unless there is a killer third party game at launch, I don't expect to see a game that I just got to have. Most of Sony's exclusives are not that interesting to me. Still if there is a must have multiplatform title that performs better on the PS3 at launch, Sony has a good chance at getting my money.

That Forza 5 trailer made me feel tight in pants so it is definitely day 1 for me! Just need to convince the wife that we really need one considering all the expenses we have this year :P Not gonna wait in line like I did for 360, PS3 and Wii though, will be pre-ordering online, unless it's all sold out then I'll have no choice!

I don't have any issues with what was announced so far hardware wise and I think everyone overreacting right now will change their minds in the upcoming weeks. Microsoft's always had the games and, owning all 3 systems last gen, I can say that I have a lot more console exclusive games on my 360 than I do for my PS3 so this is really a no brainer. If what they've shown so far is any indication of the overall graphical capabilities of the system compared to what Sony had shown, I really cannot see why people are worried about the fact that the system is less powerful than the PS4 as it definitely delivers! Can't wait for E3!!! #TeamXboxOne (I'll still get both tough :P )

Yep getting it day 1 along with Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 & Watch Dogs.
Also going to try and get PS4 day 1 as well.

I haven't gotten a console at launch since the N64 so it's kinda exciting.

Day one. Skipped the 360 in favor of PS3, and found that I really didn't give a rats ass about any of Sony's franchises. Well the ones that showed up anyway; I'm looking at you Team ICO. But I found that I really missed Halo. A lot. Not making that mistake again. My hope is that they'll release the 360 Halo games on XBO in "HD" collections so I can catch up, without having to put money out for the 360 mini.

How is anyone buying day one coming to that desicion after seeing the reveal? Honest question.

Probably not based on anything shown in the reveal. Unless someone really loves DVR and voice commands. Literally the only thing in the reveal that I found intriguing, (was not actually shown but a throwaway sentence) was the 15 first party games, 8 new franchises 'reveal'. I assume 50% of those will be Kinect Bundle / Dance Central / Kinect Sports, but the 8 new franchises has me intrigued, if at least some of them are core-focused. But that is something to be shown at E3, I presume.

I am. I will also buy a PS4 as I am a gamer and want to play ALL exclusives. I am not bothered by the DRM issues. I just need to go on a rant here about everyone saying the DRM issues are not fair or they suck. I hear a lot of "I'll just upgrade my PC or buy a PS4".
Ok. I'm going to make this as easy as possible to follow.

1. We do NOT know that Sony is not going to follow a similar type of policy to used games.
2. MS has gone on record saying you WILL be able to trade in your used games.
3. Everyone is complaining that you might not be able to lend a friend a game. Well, truthfully, why as a developer and publisher, would I want you to do that? I understand it from a consumer level, but as a dev/publisher I would want everyone who plays the game to purchase it.
4. Stop saying you'll just go PC only. The DRM MS is proposing is very similar to what the PC games currently have and Steam are using. "Well, at least we can buy the games from many different outlets and the prices are competitive" True, but you still have to BUY it.
5 Let's be realistic about the PC market. If the games aren't cheap than most people don't buy it. They pirate it. The only exceptions are WOW, Diablo 3, SimCity(yes I know about the problems, but it sold VERY well). Guess what? All are some of the most profitable PC games and are ONLY ONLINE!

The one thing that I wish would happen, but probably won't is that if this works out to be the case going forward, sales would rise and the publishers could, in effect, charge less and gain more volume which would offset. That would be the way it works in an ideal world, but I can't see that happening.

The fact is we have not been told everything yet and rather than go crazy about things that have not been cleared up yet, let's wait until they have and we can make an INFORMED opinion. This goes for SONY too. E3 will be very important for both companies and it will be the deciding factor for most.

Amen!

I'll buy the X1 on day one and get the PS4 soon after. I love having each consoles exclusives and it seems like both are going to have a lot!

I either buy most of my games new at launch or months later when they go on sale. If I do buy a game used, it's a game I was on the fence about or had bad reviews and was interested in it. Hell, even then I still might buy it new after if I really liked it. I did that with Game of Thrones.

I will get one if they remove all their anti-consumer nonsense. If they don't, I'll never get one - even if they purchased Nintendo and got Mario, Zelda and Metroid exclusive too. The console is simply so bad in principle that it's not worth all those games.

Internet connection required so I'll be bombarded with ads. I'll assume those ads will subsidize the cost of the system so the Xbone will be approximately $75 in my estimation.
So yeah, I'm definitely there day One.

forza being my favorite game out of everything and forza being a launch game => day1

that being said, I really do not like (being polite here) what microsoft is doing,
I dont like the camera that has to be on for the console to function, I dont like the anti-consumer bull,
I dont like the hardware focus on non-gaming services which are not available in my country taking resources from my game machine.

the least I care is that it is underpowered. i bought a wii last gen, didnt expect it to beat my ps360(but didnt spend as much on it either). I dont expect that my ps4 will beat my pc, but I'm also getting one.

BUT,
due to the bad policies and the camera, this machine will be a strictly forza machine, pulled from the mains plug when not playing.
"always on/online" can kiss my ass, and ALL my "games and stuff" spending money are going elsewhere this time.
and the minute an equal or better game for my tastes is available on another platform, bye-bye "xbox one".

I don't think is wise to buy a console strictly for one game. Hopefully E3 helps you make up your mind.

I bought wii for bowling :D

forza alone is worth the money for me, but the console seems to suck and wont be getting any other use than that.

Oooh, by the time the console comes out hopefully we will be more positive.

To the honest, I'm very down for the Xbox One and the only thing stopping me for getting one is a huge price tag.

If the price is right i'm there day 1. They have too many of my favorite franchises to just abandon the brand. They have plenty of exclusives coming and quite frankly i'm not into any of Sony's exclusive franchises much. I think the controller will still be the best and while there is still some things that Microsoft needs to address concerning used games and always online, they also have announced some pretty cool things that the Xbox One can do that the PS4 won't be able to do. There are some very cool things that the Xbox One can do that will eventually separate them from the PS4 and this time because of architectural reasons Sony just isn't going to be able to shoehorn those things(Achievements/trophies) into their system like last gen.

I can't even tell if I should be surprised or not. The console could require a daily blood sample and there would still be people lined up as long as you could play a new Forza.

OK...

This is just weird.

I am getting one because I'm a halo fan and can't live without getting Halo.

But why is anyone else making their mind up before E3? We've not seen the reality of the games yet... on either system.

I only need to see at least 3 amazing exclusives games out of those 15 that are not FPS/TPS/Racing/Sports/Violent/Casual. The chances are slim.

I still have a lot of games left to play for my PS3 and 360 so I could definitely wait on buying a PS4 or XBOne, unless there is a launch game that gets me too caught up in the hype.

Would be nice to wait and let the initial problems with any new hardware launch settle out, but shiny new consoles can be hard to resist. If I had to make up my mind today though, I won't be buying an XBOne at launch.

i don't buy full price games, so if second hand games can't be bought for a lower price like it is on the current box, i will be skipping this one.
