You know the Kojima entrance would have been an ultra boss moment (yeah, I said would have been), if he just slowed the fuck down and walked on the white emerging path, rather than racing in front of it.

I can't be the only one bothered by that.

What games does Sony really have? Why did they win exactly?

Horizon. A dull looking post apoc game with robo spiders. The type of the game that looks like it'll have depth but is actually shallow as fuck and full of checklist gaming.

Days Gone. Totally not The Last of Us 2.

God of War. How is this appealing? It looks like one of the most derivative games I have ever seen.

Resident Evil 7. Totally not P.T.

Kojima game. A cgi concept trailer.

Final Fantasy XV. A game in development hell for ten years.

The Last Guardian. See above.

Detroit: Becoming Human. Actually interesting.

???

None of these are killer apps, many aren't even exclusive. But Sony won and that isn't up to debate? The Sony conference bored me to absolute tears. Most modern games don't work for me, especially modern western games and their crappy checklists.

Ps4 is shaping up to be one of the most overrated systems I've ever seen. My ps4 personally is my Netflix and Street Fighter box. I say this as someone whose favorite systems are the ps1 and the ps2. My ps2 and PS3 are still hooked up right next to my ps4 in fact.

This is a super glass-half-empty post if I ever saw one. If that is all you see in those games then yeah, you probably won't like them. Gravity Rush 2 looks amazing though. I also really like how Bound is shaping up.

wait you don't wanna see spiderman? that thing looked so good.

Only thing similar about Days Gone to the last us is zombies and crafting thats it.

Lol, just quit gaming. There's plenty to go out and explore!

Yeah, this bothered me too.

I was like, goddamn it Kojima you could have entered the stage like an emperor and not just like a mere king

Lol. It's almost like you tried to hate the games. NieR Automata? Nioh? Persona 5? Going by the poll, you're definitely in the minority.

I have listed multiple games that interest me, but I should quit games because I'm not interested in the next scripted ps4 Hollywood game? This is what I'm talking about.

So just because you disagree with the list and obviously have your opinion, people don't get to feel a certain way? Your opinion isn't fact. It's an opinion. People are genuinely excited about the games you listed and it seems like most people agree: Sony won. And Spider-Man. You forgot Spider-Man. By In-friggin'-somniac. A good Spidey game? C'mon man! :-)

Gravity Rush 2 played pretty janky. Hopefully it was just demo issues since it was constantly dropping in framerate as I played, then after about 5 minutes of playing (running like garbage the whole time) it eventually crashed on me. It seemed pretty decent, but that obviously has me feeling skeptical.

You could be just as reductive and dismissive with everything showed at E3 if you wanted to. You know good and goddamn well you're not accurately describing these games. But you got some responses so your shit posting has worked.

Though I thought E3 was kind of lacklustre, I'd probably give it to Sony. They had a decent amount on display.

Zelda is my game of the show but I seriously don't know how anyone could say Nintendo had the best show. They had almost-but-not-quite nothing.

Spiderman I'm on media black out now but so far, even as a Spiderman and Marvel fan it's not doing anything for me and I'm buying the game because of the name on the box. I have zero expectations.

I haven't played Gravity Rush 1. 2 looks baller tho. I can see it being janky. I love me some Japanese jank though.

A better and more diverse content than Wii U can ever have between western and Japanese games

also Sony exclusives that were part of E3 but not enough tome to be in the conference

Nier automata
Ni Oh
Gravity Rush 2
GT:S
KH 2.8 aka KH Ground Zero
Persona 5

you somehow even forgot to mention Spider Man

It was Sony because less talk and more games
But Microsoft did very well too
and aside from Zelda with Nintendo, others were kinda "eh"

Mount and Blade looks really cool. I've never played the series. On an unrelated note, my wife accidentally spilled water on my PC, burning out my video card (she was playing Dark Souls 3 on PS4, and spazzed out, hitting her cup). It's a gaming PC I built for her to play Fallout and Skyrim with mods, but now I need a new video card. I know you're the awesome PC dude, so what would you recommend? The rest of the PC is fine (miraculously, only the video card got damaged), so I just need a new card.

Depends how much you can spend, and if you need it right away or can live with integrated graphics for a bit. You can grab a used 970 for about $200 (check /r/hardwareswap) which is a fantastic card, or wait for AMD's RX 480 to come out at $200 and see how it performs against a 970. MSI has a $440 980ti right now which is a great price if you need one right now. If you don't mind waiting, you can probably pick up a 1070 for $400-450 soon and it beats even a 980ti slightly. AMD will have a few other cards coming out under $200, I don't know when or what though.

Let It Die was pretty japanese jank in a good way, btw. I had a pretty decent time with it.

GR2 will probably be fine, but it wasn't a great experience testing it out. I'm sure it'll be refined a bit more by release.

By far and away the best game for me was Zelda. If the improvements in the NX are substantial I might buy an NX just for that.

Overall Sony had by far the best showing though. The live orchestra was a fantastic addition and made the God of War reveal feel epic, and I don't even really care about God of War! Loved the look of Spiderman, Last Guardian, Detroit and Horizon. Have to admit I thought Bend's game Days Gone was a bit of a let down, but I'll keep an open mind.

Biggest disappointment was the lack of Japanese exclusives on show. Sony had a really tight, short show so would of it killed them to carve out five minutes to showcase games like Gravity Rush 2, Persona 5, Yakuza 0, Nier Automata, etc.?

Microsoft's was largely underwhelming. Gears 4, Recore, Scalebound, Halo Wars 2 and more were all disappointments. Sea of Thieves looks cool but I wonder how long it will keep people interested. One year exclusivity for Dead Rising 4? Lol ok, Microsoft gonna Microsoft I guess. We Happy Few looks cool though

Just seems to me people are all about quantity more than anything else to flex their system wars muscles. I can understand if that super scripted type of Hollywood game is your speed though. I am baffled when people say God of War is a great looking game. But that further shows how further apart I am from the typical game player these days in terms of tastes. But then again, my favorite games already prove that. I'm fine with it.

Whether you're interested in their games or not, you can't honestly deny that Sony had the classiest presentation with the best cut trailers of all the press conferences. GOW, Horizon, TLG, RE7, Death Stranding all had amazing trailers and that live orchestra has really put in the work.

And as a bonus, minimum cringe.

Almost everyone had such a strong showing so it's tough to pick, but the Resident Evil 7 announcements and demo were my favourite things of this E3, so I'm going to have to go with Sony.

As for the guy eating a chicken leg. I never got this confirmed, but was that Brad from 4 Player Podcast? It looked like him.

It's Insomniac though. Working in tandem with a Marvel seemingly hell-bent on making a proper Spidey game. The very fact that Insomniac is developing it is a testament to their commitment. So yeah, I think we should be somewhat excited! :-)

I won. Loved MS E3 conference and believe they made pretty much everything right for Xbox fans! Can't wait for Gears 4 and Forza Horizon 3 this year, they were my favorite presentations this year's events! Can't wait for Sea of Thieves either, that looks soo good, and impressions were really positive as well! Many nice features being added to the console in future updates, and very interesting hardware options next year!

Nintendo has presented their new Zelda wich was amazing and it may affect my wallet, cause now I want to buy a Wii U (still deciding about wait NX though).

And Sony has presented The Last Guardian for this year, which makes me really happy since I waited this since I finished SotC at PS2; and also I loved the new God of War gameplay, can't wait for these either!

I secretly kind of agree. I hope Horizon will have more depth but they seem reluctant to show the story. GoW, Spiderman are not my kind of thing. Days Gone is a huge meh for me. RE7 turns first person and I have no idea what Kojima's new game is. TLG looks awesome though.

If Sony put NieR, Nioh, Gravity Rush 2 and Persona 5 into their conference, it would be a lot better. Don't tell me they are waiting for TGS, they did have new trailers, they just don't want to put them into the conference for some reasons.

That said, Sony still won E3, not much competition this year.

Never liked this whole concept of "winning" E3. Ideally I'd love for everyone to have a great conference or presentation, but no ones perfect.
I'll bite though and post my opinions anyway.
I thought both Microsoft and Sony had strong conferences this year, I wasn't particularly interested in the VR segment during Sony's presentation but I think I enjoyed it more that MS overall. Nintendo's focus on Zelda and Pokemon was quite strong as well, they showed enough to satisfy everyone's curiosity until next E3 (or in the case of Pokemon, until its release date), but I really wish that they presented more like they did in previous years.

It definitely wasn't the smoothest experience. I definitely noticed frame drops here and there, but it was still easily playable and I got through the demo just fine.

If you're a fan of the first one, you'll definitely enjoy this game, flaws and all. Camera jank is mostly still there, but the new lunar abilities were really fun to experiment with and the game is beautiful.

Vulva was Nier Automata on the show floor?

I didn't see it there. IIRC, Square had FFXV, FFXII Remastered, Kingdom Hearts, FFXIV, and Deus Ex. Meanwhile, Sony had Let It Die, GT Sport, Gravity Rush 2, and a bunch of indie games out in the open for play. Horizon was playable in their theater, and the rest were demo stations for PSVR.

I don't get how you can judge Sony's entire lineup based on a one-hour conference.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8? Persona 5? Dragon Quest Builders? Gravity Rush 2? GT: Sport? Nier Automata? Ni-Oh? KOF 14? Yakuza Zero? FF 12? Star Ocean 5? World of FF? Let It Die?

Ni No Kuni 2, Ys 8, DQXI, Ace Combat 7, FFVII:R, Hot Shots Golf and Kingdom Hearts 3 weren't shown off at E3, so I'll leave those out.

And of course Deep Down (lol jk)

All japanese games! Just confused is all.

Well, I thought Detroit looked dumb and I liked all of the games you said you disliked so we seem to have pretty opposite tastes.
