Who won E3?

Question. For people who felt Zelda (Nintendo) won, have you played Witcher 3 & Skyrim?

Honestly wondering.

EDIT: I have the game pre-ordered but I'm not blown away like some people.

Played both those games to completion and while I think they are amazing somewhat flawed experiences the gameplay of Zelda looks that much more appealing as does its open world. Nintendo magic.

It really seems like Sony is the only company that knows what they're doing, and are having success at it.

I wonder how it must feel like to be a fan of a company that doesn't come off as a stumbling drunkard. I have no clue.

...what? Then how is It nostalgic if it in many ways treads new ground for the series and has openly tore down series conventions?

It's a Zelda game... yes it's open world, but it is still a bloody Zelda game with Zelda conventions.

EDIT:
If you can't see how Breath of the Wind has lots of nostalgia that's your problem. There's plenty.

Its an open poll. Ask the 27 crazy people that voted for MS. Or even better, the 101(!) who voted Nintendo.

Nostalgia?

You look at THAT Zelda game and think the people impressed by it are merely impressed for nostalgic reasons?

Regardless of what you think about the game, no other game showed us the sheer amount of content Zelda did. They played it, openly, in front of us for HOURS, and it looked brilliant the whole way through. Everything else was trailers and prerecorded gameplay demos. Zelda wins on the principle of having confidence in their product.

EDIT: I think the "GOTY" in the thread title threw me off. I'm talking about best game. If we're talking about publishers, then Sony wins almost as easily as Zelda wins Game of the Show.

EDIT2: So, apparently there's a poll I'm not seeing. My bad.

Looks at Microsoft's votes.

Yes, every Zelda game offers near complete control of its world; from fire, wind, water, even time. It's totally only nostalgia.

I just looked, apparently just Forbes, so yeah sorry for saying more than one.

you mean a forbes contributor that picked zelda as best game of the show, but gave sony the best showing. infact he said they dominated

Why assume all people excited for Zelda only play Nintendo games? People can't be excited for Nintendo titles without being complete drooling Nintendo freaks? What is with core gamers not being able to concede even an inch that maybe Nintendo made a compelling looking game? But nope, we only play Nintendo games. How insulting.

i'm sorry but people picking nintendo over sony conference are most likely nintendo fans that only like nintendo games. sony dominated the show, one game vs a bunch of great looking exclusives, and third party support.

I never said that, but I do think it's a huge part of the reason, coupled with the fact that it's open world.

Chill son.

Haha, you originally asked if people have played games like Witcher and Skyrim, suggesting that they just don't better because you think they haven't played better games. But now I need to chill vecUsr I called you on it, and you've got the game pre ordered? *chuckles*

You sure like putting words in people's mouths.

I can't vote on the poll, but my vote would go to Sony with Nintendo at a close second. Really Sony gets it for being a better package for the future. Sony's press conference showed they still have new games coming out and they're breaking the mold with old games (GoW). I think the new GoW, Horizon, and the exclusive Spiderman game won it for them.

Nintendo pretty much just showed Zelda, but it's pretty much the Zelda people have been wanting since forever. It as of right now, is probably my dream game. Nintendo succeeded in proving it can still pull the masses by having Zelda trending #1 world wide on twitter, and it being the most talked about game of the conference. If they can follow up with a solid NX presentation that includes more Zelda game play, they could sell a shit ton of units off that game alone.

As far as Zelda not doing anything really groundbreaking, I'd say it's groundbreaking for the series. I think it combines stuff seen in other games, but I'm not sure if the Witcher or even Skyrim were capable of performing like Zelda did. The idea of an open world and the ability to bend the physics in the game to alter and customize your gameplay is too much for me. I don't know if Witcher 3 lets you do that, but I'm going to buy Witcher 3 now because of Zelda, so they can't be too mad.

Where did I say anything about Nintendo conference? They didn't even have a conference. I'm talking about Zelda and people telling others that being hyped for it is stupid because there's so totally better games on the market and peoples hype for it is unjustified. But you bring Sony into this? You just sound like a disgruntled butt hurt Sony fan who is mad people are talking about Zelda than Dad of War and your reaction to this game in every single thread about it is hilarious.

Sony won the show for me just for the class of the presentation and the amount of interesting stuff shown. Although Zelda steals game of the show for me, can't wait to get my grubby hands on it !

Turkey leg for next husbando

Physics based open world games......this is nothing new lol

Well, I meant it in reference to the Witcher and Skyrim which is what everyone compares this too. If you say "It plays like Skyrim/Witcher 3/Just Cause/bullshit" then it doesn't play like anything before it, because there isn't another game that combines those elements. Is this a revolutionary game? Probably not, but it's by far the best game they showed at this conference, because it's the only one that showed 5 hours of pure game play. No glitches, no wonkiness, no "PRE-ALPHA" watermark. It was it just the game running like you could play it tomorrow, whereas half of the games that were shown had scripted game play.

I'm a Nintendo fan but not exclusively. Not sure what it was about this year's showing but in general I just wasn't feeling it. Zelda hyped me because it's such a departure from previous games and I think the enthusiasm of the treehouse crew added to it. I think I just find the flashy stage shows a bit passe. All the whooping and screaming just turns me off completely. There were a few highlights - I thought Sea of Thieves looked like it will be a ton of fun and Horizon and Detroit looked amazing but Zelda was the game that made me get the "I HAVE to fucking play this game" feels the most, so Nintendo won it for me on that basis.

PC. I liked the conference itself and it had the most interesting games at once.
Sony gets the second place because their presentation was fun (even if pompous to a fault, or maybe because of it), although nothing grabbed me except for Kojima's game.

Turkey Leg Guy and porn are pretty compelling voting choices, though.

You people that are say Nintendo won with Zelda are crazy. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I can't wait to play that amazing game, but one game can't beat several games. Sony and Microsoft showed amazing games and they have third party support that Nintendo doest have.

In my opinion Sony won. They had some amazing games but that's not to say Microsoft didn't have games too. Nintendo had 1 game...smh

Zelda has convinced to get an NX day one, but let's not kid ourselves, Sony showed off a ton at their conference and in the following days. A ton of Sony exclusives were shown off this E3.
