Mount and Blade looks really cool. I've never played the series. On an unrelated note, my wife accidentally spilled water on my PC, burning out my video card (she was playing Dark Souls 3 on PS4, and spazzed out, hitting her cup). It's a gaming PC I built for her to play Fallout and Skyrim with mods, but now I need a new video card. I know you're the awesome PC dude, so what would you recommend? The rest of the PC is fine (miraculously, only the video card got damaged), so I just need a new card.

I don't think Microsoft is getting any credit because they pretty much announced they have no exclusives anymore. So, if you vote for Microsoft for getting all these cool games coming out on PC, why wouldn't that vote go towards PC instead? PC has a better showing than Microsoft because they kept winning after their conference. I don't really even see the point in buying an Xbox, if they really have the plan to come out with a new console every other year BS. Just build a PC and upgrade through time, it would be more cost effective that way. I know the argument is that consoles are plug and play and in PC you have to download X and install whatever it is, but man, I'm not going to dish out $500 every 2 years when I can buy the game elsewhere.

I don't even own a PC, have no idea what TFLOP, TERAFLOP (Triceratops belly flop?), or whatever the fuck it's called is, but looks like I'll have to learn to play Microsoft games.

Sony won it by far imo.

They focused on what people wanted, the games. Where other companies spent a lot of the show talking about their strategies or "show" things sony just hunkered down and really showed the games and WHY people should be excited for the ps4 going forward.

Alright, who voted for EA?

Sony's was the best show to me. That God of War demo with the live orchestra opening the conference was just perfect. I like the new direction they're taking it and it seems SSM and Barlog seem to be super proud of it as well. Horizon looked amazing as always. Not a new game, but reaffirming that it will be a great one. Spiderman by Insomniac... I can't tell you how happy I am to finally get what looks like it will be a GOOD Spiderman game. I really can't wait for this one. I also liked what I saw of Detroit. I know people like to shit on David Cage games, but I think the game has a lot of promise and I'm interested. Days Gone also sounds promising, but it is another zombie game. I need to see more before I'm sold on it, but Bend seems super passionate about it, so props for that. And then there's Kojima's trailer. I'll just say I'm curious about it. There's nothing much to really go on, but it's Kojima with the full backing of Sony... so whatever it is, it will be good.

I think Microsoft's conference has more of an effect on you if you're an MS' superfan, someone who is heavily into their ecosystem. They showed some good games, but a lot of it wasn't new. And if you're not really interested in the new hardware, then I feel like there wasn't as much for you as other conference. We Happy Few and Sea of Thieves look absolutely great though. And I'm REALLY excited for Forza Horizon 3, same with Gears to a lesser extent. And all their stuff coming to PC? Means I get play all of it. Best thing about the conference.

For me though, it was pretty close between Sony, MS, and Ubisoft even if I liked Sony's the best.

Also, Zelda: BotW is like my dream Zelda game. I am going to play it sooo much.

Question. For people who felt Zelda (Nintendo) won, have you played Witcher 3 & Skyrim?

Honestly wondering.

You mean the games with garbage combat?

I'm not saying Zelda is the pinnacle, but it sure as hell is more enjoyable than the combat in those two games.

It will be nice to play a game with TW3 & Skyrim's exploration where it doesn't suck to fight enemies.

You people that are say Nintendo won with Zelda are crazy. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I can't wait to play that amazing game, but one game can't beat several games. Sony and Microsoft showed amazing games and they have third party support that Nintendo doest have.

In my opinion Sony won. They had some amazing games but that's not to say Microsoft didn't have games too. Nintendo had 1 game...smh

I have a ps4 and the only ps4 games that interested me were Detroit, FFXV, Final Fantasy XII HD, and Gravity Rush 2.

By contrast, I'm getting NX for Zelda, Dragon Quest VII, SMT4 Apocalypse, Pokemon Moon, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Monster Hunter, and a whole slew of other 3ds games.

Taste is subjective. Sony had more games, but barely any of them interested me. For all of the hype for God of War and Horizon, I think both look awful. My tastes lean Japanese and Nintendo simply delivered in that department.

sony and microsoft were the only ones that were above being mediocre/average

I have a ps4 so I was more invested in sony's games so I'll give them the edge

I think Nintendo won in terms of me wanting to buy a wiiU to play Zelda.

Capcom greatest troll with that finger.

MS I was confused.

Sony had a lot of games I want to play, but I already knew that.

No Nioh, Persona 5, Yakuza 0?

Sony had the best lineup of games and the best conference.

Nintendo had the best singular game.

Bethesda had the thing I'm most excited about.

I'm disappointed son. Sony has a ton of great Japanese exclusives coming out soon.

No Nioh, Persona 5, Yakuza 0?

Nioh I haven't seen E3 footage on yet but I did like the demo. Persona 5 I'm on media black out now but so far, even as a Persona and SMT fan it's not doing anything for me and I'm buying the game because of the name on the box. I have zero expectations. Yakuza games get worse and worse.

I really don't understand people who think zelda was the best game shown this E3, I just don't see it, what am I missing here ? What is it that makes this game better than Horizon for example ? Like at this point it just seems sad how far behind the times nintendo is lagging. I really feel like either I'm missing something fundemental here. I'm not even hating, just curious.

^^^ I played both Zelda and Horizon. The scope, mechanics and diversity of the gameplay shown in Zelda was far more interesting than Horizon. The ability to scale walls and move about however you preferred and ability to creatively approach enemies with a stealth or guns blazing style was all much more interesting than Horizon, which kind of just felt like a traditional 3D action adventure game. It was still cool, for sure, but Zelda just felt a lot more interesting all around.

Based on the line and reaction after, Nintendo won on the floor with only one game.

Sony wins by a considerable margin.

The spectacle... That live orchestra alone made Sony kill it on the conference front. The games they showcased were all genuinely interesting.

Sony just put on a show. It was very entertaining, the light they put their games in shows respect for the medium as a legit alternative to storytelling. I was just entertained by what Sony did, and it representative there vision of gaming eloquently.

Nintendo did something very special by focusing on one game that had so much to say. Gameplay mechanics and how they interact is important, but the amount of mechanics they are trying to pull off is astounding and could potentially change our expectations of what players should be able accomplish in an open world game. Like Sony, Nintnedo represented their vision of gaming very eloquently, and only in a way Nintendo could do.

This may seem like I'm throwing shade on MS, but they really just seemed like a hardware manufacture wanting companies to make magic on their hardware. Everything by the books, lots of fumbling, and the closer is "more power for next year be excited." Didn't feel it..

1-Zelda
2-Watch dogs 2
3-Battlefield 1
4-Mass effect andromeda
5-Persona 5
6-Grow up
7-Titanfall 2
8-Nier
9-NiOh
10-GoW

But overall nintendo won imo

Absolutely.

I don't know. I sat in on their extended gameplay demo at the event, I didn't register for it but they were begging people to come in and watch it. Throughout the week, every time it was starting they had tons of empty space needed to be filled and lukewarm reactions. It seems like it wasn't just me that thought it looked bland and uninteresting.

I think a lot of the reason why Sony left such a strong impression is because they showed a lot of new IP. More than a lot of the other games I saw coming out of E3. A lot of new IP that wasn't announced at last year's E3. It's worthy of praise.

We got the return of God of War, Resident Evil, Call of Duty, and Final Fantasy, as well as another demo of new IP, Horizon, but the bulk of the presentation was new IPs.

Farpoint
Detroit: Become Human
Horizon: Zero Dawn
The Last Guardian (with release date!)
Days Gone
Spider-Man

Three of those aren't new announcements, but they are new IPs. It's always nice to see old franchises return (God of War looked amazing, and legitimately different from the 6 games that have come before it), but part of the fun of E3 is seeing what new stuff developers have in store, and Sony delivered. Cutting out all of the fluff and just showing trailer after trailer, and having a few really cool live demos helped as well. I love Zelda with a passion, and this new Zelda actually looks to expand on the series conventions thankfully, but I think Sony overall had a better showing of games that were impressive graphically, and intriguing in concepts.

It's also interesting how clearly The Last of Us has affected the gaming landscape. And no, not because the camera is over the shoulder and people walk slow and have conversations. There seems to be a lot of growing up in the industry in terms of how we handle characterization and narrative, and in engaging the player's emotions beyond just the titillation gaming brings us on a core level. Basically, developers are trying to utilize all of the tools of the medium than just the visuals and visceral combat.

And then Square shows a VR trailer ogling boobs. Sigh.

Hmm...I was with you on everything you said until you said GOW and horizon looked awful. These games may not be for you and that ok, but to say they look awful is crazy. I'm glad my gaming taste is a lot broader.

What games does Sony really have? Why did they win exactly?

Horizon. A dull looking post apoc game with robo spiders. The type of the game that looks like it'll have depth but is actually shallow as fuck and full of checklist gaming.

Days Gone. Totally not The Last of Us 2.

God of War. How is this appealing? It looks like one of the most derivative games I have ever seen.

Resident Evil 7. Totally not P.T.

Kojima game. A cgi concept trailer.

Final Fantasy XV. A game in development hell for ten years.

The Last Guardian. See above.

Detroit: Becoming Human. Actually interesting.

???

None of these are killer apps, many aren't even exclusive. But Sony won and that isn't up to debate? The Sony conference bored me to absolute tears. Most modern games don't work for me, especially modern western games and their crappy checklists.

Ps4 is shaping up to be one of the most overrated systems I've ever seen. My ps4 personally is my Netflix and Street Fighter box. I say this as someone whose favorite systems are the ps1 and the ps2. My ps2 and PS3 are still hooked up right next to my ps4 in fact.

It really must suck being you.
