Who's the Biggest A-Hole in Wrerstling?

Vince McMahon covered for a murderer and allows tons of racist and other shady shit to happen in his organization, not to mention basically ruined the American wrestling business.

Nah, he saved it. Killing off everyone else has led to the territories slowly reforming but realising they don't have to fight each other and can compromise. The real assholes were the morons in the 80s who could've held Vince off but were too stupid to work together.

I mean Gagne refrains from lying to Hogan and gives him the belt, Vince never succeeds at going national. But he had to keep blowing Bockwinkel

Character answer would be the Big Bossman. Fed Al Snow his own dog and towed a casket carrying big shows dead father.

Vince McMahon, for allowing a carny culture to flourish and create people like Bill DeMott and JBL

Oh, he also covered for Jimmy Snuka murdering someone

This revisionist history of the other 1980s promoters is hilarious. Y'all shouldn't take Paul Heyman Invasion gospels as truth.

I'd have to go w/ HBK. Here's some of the things he did:

-Slept around with Sunny, then basically tossed it in Candido's face when they were having their affair. Candido was a powder keg, so the Kliq in their infinite wisdom just decided to shit in Sunny's luggage....to somehow teach Candido a lesson or something?
-Talked trash to a group of Marine's, who pummeled HBK outside a bar, forcing him to forfeit his IC title, and in turn, forced WWF creative to completely rewrite their scripts
-Known for chewing out anyone and everyone backstage, depending on how much coke he did before he arrived
-Lost his smile (some speculate its because he knew he was going to drop the title to Hart at WM '13)
-Went into a full shoot on "Sunny days" (though Bret had a lot to answer for during this time as well)
-Berated Vader on camera during their match at SummerSlam '95, and afterwards, got in Vince's ear that Vader is worthless, effectively ending Vader's career, which went nowhere after that match. Watch the match, HBK verbally assaults Vader, you can hear it on camera.

There's a host of other things as well, but HBK from around '94 through his exit at WM '14 was pure scum.

Yeah, 90s HBK was a piece of shit too. But he's also a reason why Vince is still the biggest A-Hole, because Vince allowed Shawn to do all that shit because Vince was basically a stan for HBK.

Prichard basically admitted this on his podcast as well. VInce always held a "soft spot" for HBK, no matter what he did. Funny how deep that double standard can run in WWF/E through the years. That'd be a whole other discussion in itself.

I was a huge wresting fan in the 90's and I only found out about the Sunny, Shawn, Bret, Chris stuff last month.

Was Chris Candido a good guy in the industry?

Randy Orton takes shits in people's gym bags, is a "blue lives matter" guy, and has a long history of being an erratic jerk. Plus he vapes.

JBL
Bill DeMott
Hardcore Holly
Orton

Guys like that who abuse their power and/or bully/demean and abuse others. Probably the most toxic thing in the business, aside from your murderers like Snuka/Benoit or racists like Hogan, Bill Watts or Michael Hayes (who is also allegedly a pretty big creep too) or generally terrible human beings like Dynamite Kid (just read his book and you'll see all the terrible things he did to his family).

And, of course, Vince himself. The carny king who has done/said too many terrible things to count to get where he is now. He'll probably be respected for bringing Sports Entertainment to the masses, but he was also a massive piece of shit and that entire McMahon family is too for that matter since they all gladly support Trump.

In the grand scheme of things, considering how fucking awful some of these people are, naming someone like New Jack is completely off-base. He's crazy AF but you know what's gonna happen getting into the ring with him. More to the point, he's not an asshole or as horrible as these other people.

Its interesting that alot of fans let this affect their opinion on Low-Ki. People forget he's one of the most influential wrestlers of the past 15 years up there with Joe, Styles, Bryan, Punk etc
I'm not gonna deny his talent. Dude put up fantastic matches in the early days of ROH and even in New Japan/TNA he was able to get it done with the ring. It doesn't excuse that he's got one of the worst attitudes out of anyone in pro-wrestling today.

The picture of Low Ki being carried out by security is always hilarious to me

how did he make the Warrior throw up? He was Bane before Bane.

never saw Warrior on WWF saturday mornings after that. messed me up.

I dunno, but as a little kid the only other time I remember being so scared for a wrestler's health was when Crush dropped Savage throat-first on the steel barricade.

Man I was a little mark.

JBL (huge dick that caused Mauro Ranallo, an actually good commentator, to quit)
Bill DeMott
Randy "calls people who kneel during the national anthem cowards" "went AWOL twice" Orton

Does Bubba "Fuck Haiti" The Love Sponge count? Either way I'm glad Awesome Kong wrecked his shit and Mick Foley got to punch him on TV.

I'll still never forget Mark Henry's story about him confronting HBK.

“I wasn’t used to being ribbed because, in my culture, you don’t f**k with people like that. They hid my crutches with my broke ankle and I just cut a promo on everybody. ‘Hey, s**t’s all fun and games when I’ve got a cast on my leg but as soon as this cast’s off my ankle; all y’all f*****g with me are gonna get dealt with and there ain’t s**T you can do about it.’ ”

“Shawn is all in my face, like, ‘Aw man, big guy, they hid your crutches?’ I was like, ‘Man, you think this motherf****r standing in front of you going to protect you from me? I will rip you off the bone and then I’m gonna put my foot in your ass.’ So Shawn goes to Vince and says, ‘this motherf****r just threatened me.’ “

The guy standing in front of HBK was Sid Vicious apparently!

Talent =/= morality

Casting hexes and curses from a distance. I remember watching it as a Kid and thinking whhhhhaaaaat? He also stole Undertakers urn and melted it down into a mystic necklace. Interesting character and I hated him. That face.

Vince McMahon is the biggest person in wrestling, so by necessity, he's the biggest asshole in wrestling. You don't get to where he is in that industry without being an asshole. There's just too many stories about him being an asshole for him not to be an asshole, even if you agree with some of the decisions he's made that were controversial.

Other than Vince...

JBL is up there for relevant people in wrestling who are the biggest assholes. He's just a typical asshole. Even if you're sympathetic to the "old school guys" or "the old school way of doing things" you still have to admit he's an asshole.

Russo is an asshole but he may just be more of an idiot than an asshole, it's tough to decide whether his history with wrestling was just out of idiocy or out of malice. Probably a mixture of both.

But, going back to my point on Vince, I don't think there's many guys in the industry who reached top status who weren't assholes.. Maybe a small handful who weren't. Hogan was an asshole, Shawn Michaels was an asshole, plenty of people thought Kevin Nash was an asshole, Bret Hart could be an asshole, Ric Flair was an asshole, etc.

There's fewer top guys who weren't assholes than who were. I'd say Bill Goldberg was probably never an asshole... he was green, but he wasn't an asshole, generally didn't get mixed up in the bad side of the industry and didn't try to fuck people over. The Undertaker is one of the few guys whose almost never described by anybody as an asshole... Don't think I've ever heard a shoot interview where someone said shit about him, it's amazing that guys on every side of every wrestling fence seemingly respect and like him. Yokozuna, from all accounts, wasn't an asshole... For a huge guy who could probably kill his opponent, he was remarkably safe. Oh, and Sting, few people have anything bad to say about Sting... Maybe there's something that I don't know though.

HBK seemed like one of the assholes who never turned it off, just a constant dick and you'd wanna rip his head off. Where as a Hogan, he knew how to turn on the charm and try to get you to like him before being a dick.

We need more people saying Moolah. Fuck her.

Yeah, personally there's a rather large gap between being an asshole backstage and basically enslaving and prostituting the women working for you, among other things. Benoit, Snuka (allegedly), etc. have all done horrible things, but there's a special place in Hell for someone who went to the depths that Moolah did.

Not diminishing any of the other acts we've spoken of, of course, but again...Moolah took part in that shit for decades.

I'd be legit afraid to be in the same city as a pissed-off Mark Henry.

Fake Razor Ramon (I forget dude's real name) tried to set up Henry on a bad drug deal. Basically tricked Henry to going to a club where Fake Razor's drug debt collector's were and they were told Henry was going to pay the debt. Henry got out of there ok (obviously) and confirmed in the same interview that he'd murk him on sight if he ever saw him again.

Basically I'm just wondering why anyone would try shit with a legit power-lifter from Texas who is twice the size of anyone in the locker room.

All this is why I find it incredulous that the gimmick didn't pan out. I always hear these stories about Shango legit scaring people.

He was both Black and Green, respectively. There are stories of HBK trying to bury the Rock before he ever got big, which is why you've never seen the two of them work together.

You can't be a complete mark for yourself and not be an asshole.

Holy crap. If I was Fake Razor I'd have volunteered for a job at a research site in Antarctica.

Jim Cornette.

Dude ran a small time Indy back in the 90s. And managed big names in the 80s/90s. Since then, Jesus... the dude has done nothing of value for twenty years and yet maintains he can fix wrestling.
I don't understand people that give Jim Cornette or Vince Russo any attention in 2017. At the very least though Cornette is very knowledgeable and passionate about the business (his HOF speech for The Rock ‘n' Roll Express was excellent) but I can't fucking stand Russo. He's a homophobic hack that took far more from the business than he contributed.
