Like I said, potentiality versus actuality. In this case your position is, 'well if the XBOX 360 had a game with that budget it'll do it too'.

In my view I see actuality as a stronger argument than potentiality.

I never said that, If I said that I would have compared it to Alan Wake. Which I did not, although Alan doesn't have a similar budget it does have similar dev time. Anyway, I don't think either KZ2 or GOW2 are going to look better than, anything coming out of a Rare\Insominac studio. That's a given.

i remember back in the days of the SNES/Genesis where each version actually looked and felt different, you could definitely see the difference between each systems capabilities. But now i think it's the whole multi-platform crap that's making the PS3 and 360 versions looks the same even though the PS3 is way more capable than the 360.

The 360 and PS3 look bloody amazing and have some wonderful exclusives. Some of their games might look similar, but it really is worth buying both.

The 360 does in GoW2 if you choose to look at it like that. Guerrilla aren't selling their engine but i'm sure the tech is being passed all around SCE.

Replying to the OP, the reason is that the only area where the PS3 does have a significant advantage (SPE floating point calculations) is both non-trivial to exploit fully, and -- unless used really well throughout rendering pipeline, see the guerilla games KZ2 presentation -- not immediately visible in screenshots.

But that was your excuse. That KZ2 shouldn't be brought up because of the large budget.

While this doesn't mean the games on the 360 look bad, there's a clear indication that the developers on the PS3 are aiming for a higher bar and in many cases are actually achieving it.

sorry was away from the pc, I have all three and don't see any difference between PS3 and 360 on my 51".
