The art director since he has to work with the hardware directly. Game director, has the man himself said, is more concerned with the games narrative and how that narrative is achieved. Things that aren't directly affected by the hardware
No, unless by first-person Pokemon RPG you mean a new pokemon snap game
So are we up or down today guys?

Like...man. What the fuck. Now Vigil staff is comparing builds of a game against hardware that it's never existed on. It's just...wow. I can't wrap my head around that thought process.
No, I basically want Skyrim, except, Pokemon.
So are we up or down today guys?
We are on par.
I like that you used the bold-feature for your last statement in the thread - I knew you are a strong man. I only read posts by strong men.
Also, Ace what have you done :lol
Up, someone actually working on the Wii U hardware at Vigil said it's "pretty powerful" and that it has more resources than the current consoles, and that they are working hard to make darksiders 2 for Wii U, the best version.
(compared to the game director who isn't working on the hardware, this team is more in the know, the game director also said from what he has heard, meaning that the on par stuff is very general, and probably factors in the controller's performance drain too.)
All and all, it's back to how it was before a week ago with some other news coming out, but all small details.
Awesome sauce.
So apart from Vigilgate which is a clusterfuck. Has there been any other news, leaks, rumours...
It makes me wonder if the system on paper doesn't look great initially but the more devs dig into the system, the more they realise they can push it a bit further. And maybe the extra memory is coming in more handy then they initially though which frees things up and allows them to push the system harder.

Uhm.. Nintendo licsensed another middleware which seems to be for debug stuff.
And guek, just calm down. It's always the same people that come into threads like that to provoke.
I hear all the memory bar 256MB is reserved for the OS, which needs it to run an early PPC port of IE4, which is mainly used to show the 'insert disk' dialog box, which is needed by most games as those will be multi-disk as the media turns out to be capped at 4GB. So is the software Nintendo has been licensing, going to be available for free to indie devs making digital content for Wii U?
It'd be doable with an included 8 GB, but in terms of filling up your fridge it'd be like the largest N64 or WiiWare games are on Wii.Linkhero1 said:What new consoles do you want the Wii U VC to support? I've seen some people mention GC, but is it possible without a hdd? Aren't game sizes at least 1GB?
Willy105 said:Also, Animal Crossing is an N64 game that was simply ported to the Gamecube.
Nope. I don't know if it was ever planned for 64DD, but it was a cartridge release in Japan in April 2001.AceBandage said:Well, the 64DD, anyway.
I'm surprised you guys haven't begun to furiously analyze the difference between a southern islands gpu and what the wiiU may have yet.

and that stopped people here when? lolIt's kinda difficult when we have nothing to go on.
User base and DD don't matter either? Let's not try to go off the dramma charts. Also if rumours end up true that Orbis AND Durango don't support used games, say goodbye to 3rd party games you don't pay for nintendo
power won't even matter

yeah but nintendo is a company where devs already come up with stupid excuses for not working with, the used game thing is their ACE of excuses.User base and DD don't matter either? Let's not try to go off the dramma charts.

Your phone?I could swear somebody made a big post guesstimating the Wii U GPU using Southern Islands as a base a few pages back, but I can't find it in a search.
But what can you really do, other than just going to a random comparison table and pointing gruntily at the highest numbered model that fits inside the maximum TDP that you think Nintendo is willing to work with?
*points gruntily at anything slightly over 1 GFLOPS*
Your phone?
Anti-Nintendo people can say all the bad things they want about the Wii U but the one positive thing about the Wii U is I haven't heard a single rumor about it being "Anti-Used games" like the next Xbox and PS4.

Just go to bed already ; )WTF blu? Is it just that it's 4:30am here or did you say Wii U games are limited to 4GB? You're pulling my leg right?
*in a whispering voice*
It's staring at me.
.
I you are referring to that seemingly bogus Pastebin document, it states that Durango will use 4 GB RAM (unverified type) and an 8-core x86-64 processor. Will Wii U be able to combat that?PS4 "on par" with Wii U then? yeah so next gen not going to be a big jump just like I was thinking it wouldn't be
all about games then
Just about to . Wife just rescued me from screaming baby - night all!Just go to bed already ; )
