WildStar: Reloaded |OT| Full Steam Ahead!

They're doing another restart, server should be up in 2 minutes. I was in the middle of making an Entity 2 Exile toon to see if I could get in to that server.

Everything appears to be coming back up now, except Entity. Lol.

I can get to character select, but choosing a character just gives me a full progress bar on the loading screen forever.

They've been using the in-game notification system for the restarts over the log-loops but I agree, the realm screen doesn't really do a decent job of communicating issues or information.

I mean, I believe you, but they're not doing a very good job of communicating that fact. I took that screenshot just now. The WildstarOps twitter hadn't even been updated for 6 hours until 1 minute ago.

Just check out the status page.

It pings every server to see if they're active. Being able to create a character or see characters in character select is all housed on a different server.

Anyone on windows 10 having trouble just trying to install the game?

I click on the WildStar.exe and the program just ends and refuses to lainch with no error or anything.

Try installing it with a compatibility mode of Win 7 or so?

Now everything NA is offline.

Edit: Now Entity is online but Warhound is offline.
Revenge of the Edit: Now Entity and Warhound are offline.
The Edit Strikes Back: Entity is online again but Warhound is still offline.

Still no bueno. Even as administrator.

Running Win10 here without issue.

Two things to try:
1) Launch the exe with the command line. Maybe it spits out some debug spew there which can give us a hint.
2) See if anything shows up in the Event Viewer. Right click the start button -> event viewer. In the Event Viewer (Local) section on the left, expand "Windows Logs" and then click "Application". Look through the list for any Application Error's (under Source column) until you find one for WildStar.exe. Let us know what it says, and if any of the surrounding entries have anything related to WildStar.

My gut feeling is something like the CRT or .NET framework it is expecting is not installed.

If anyone knows where WildStar keeps its logs as well, let us know.

Thanks for the help man!

Well I tried #2 and it gave me this:

Faulting application name: Wildstar.exe, version: 1.4.0.10537, time stamp: 0x560b3121
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.10240.16384, time stamp: 0x559f3b2a
Exception code: 0xc06d007f

Got it to work :)

Weird, All I did was move the .exe to somewhere out of my users/download folder and launched it from there. Then it suddenly worked...

Zoning is still kinda iffy at the moment. I had to transition to another zone as part of a quest chain and now I'm stuck in the character select/loading screen loop.

Edit: Tried multiple times to log-in to my Spellslinger, trapped in whatever limbo it is between instances, with no luck. Tried my Chua Engineer and the game is just bouncing me back to character select as well.

I managed to get in and play for about 30 minutes and got booted when I picked a shuttle to change map.
And now I'm on the character infinite loop. Damn.

So my Entity-2 characters are stuck on the loop after the servers came back up.

Waiting seems like a good idea now but something inside me keeps making me try.

Should I just create an Entity-2 character? I'm logging into my char and selecting 'Enter Game' but the loading screen right after just stalls after finishing the bar then throws me back at character select after a bit with no warning.

This is one of those times I wish I was out of the loop....

I made the mistake of going into the Steady Traveler because I wanted to finish it before heading to Thayd and to the zone after Algorac.... but I think no matter what I would've done besides staying in Algorac would've caused this.

It's really crazy that they have literally had over 10 hours to figure out the reason for this and it has not been fixed... I mean most companies that host MMOs figure this stuff out in a couple hours tops.

So if I'm gonna be serious raiding, will the GAF guild fall apart by then? lol

Everytime I'm in a GAF guild, it dies so fast.
Now that I know what a circle is (I didn't before starting the game), I think it might be worthwhile to move everyone over to a circle, because I also have aspirations for raiding and I don't know if the GAF guild will be able to accommodate.

I definitely wanna raid as well. Hoping to get my Stalker into a tanking mode soon. Been reading the finer points of it during the off time.

I'm wondering at what point does this become a serious issue for NCSoft/Wildstar. The way I see it, I'm a key target for Wildstar to make money. I'm not a big MMO guy. I'm here because it's free. People who are really into MMOs probably bought the game in the past and even paid the subscription for a few months. My point is, they want my (and people like me's) money.

The problem is how long will casuals like me wait to be able to really try out the game. I'm interested! I want to see what's going on! But some people don't have any interest in waiting for a game to work. I plan on waiting it out because, like I said, I'm interested in what's going on.

My ultimate question is:

At what point will the majority say "F this" instead of "it's a good game (when it works) that's free."? I know things will be smoothed out eventually but how long do they have before interest fades?

So now I've encountered a bug where whenever I try to unlock a costume I lose connection with the server for an entire minute or two. Can't do anything, but wait for the lag to end, lol.

We should as long as it's gaf plus non gaf cool people.

Wow, somehow missed this thread and the news that this game was going/went F2P. Haven't been through the thread thoroughly but what the heck is going on with the servers? I've seen for the last 3 pages people saying they keep getting dropped/crashing. Did the game just go F2P?

I mean NCSoft already has another big MMO doing fine with F2P ala Guild Wars 2 plus whatever else they got under their belt, so I doubt it's a problem with them.
