No. As much as I support digital gaming and streaming, I cannot justify purchasing anything like this. I would have to A. receive it as a gift or B. Be put in a position where I can no longer play games from a device I already own.

Well, to be honest, this isn't something I'll ever be interested in. That said, I'm rather fascinated at the observational aspect of it; watching how it does, if there are any effects on the industry, stuff like that. I think it's a part of the industry's history that while I won't be partaking in, it's an element to observe.
Even if it doesn't have a lot of users, I would hope that even if somewhat niche, it stays running as something that operates for a specific type of customer that doesn't need or want the consoles or PC. I think it would be most unfortunate indeed if people put money up for this only to get burned later, because as others have mentioned, they do have a track record of abandoning things when it doesn't work out the way they want. (Google)
But yeah, it's just the overall story of this thing, how it ends up doing, and where things go from here that I'm interested in; not in the actual use or participation of the service because for me, if streaming became the thing the industry goes to, that's when I hang it up on what comes next and just resign myself to enjoying the older games I actually possess on hand. There's more than enough of them to last me the rest of my days and keep me happy.

No, and after their presentation I'm going to try PS Now instead. It seems a much better value subscription, and you can even download the games.
I would probably argue that it doesn't fix those things and actually has more cons than you put down.
- Hardware is not eliminated, your requirements for hardware doesn't go down... it actually goes up
- the convenient factor is, neither a pro or con as a person can do that today and for basically years now with their own equipment
Additional cons:
- more internet bandwidth required... huge amounts on both ends
- increased electricity usage on both ends as it requires more hardware
Virtualized servers and desktops can make sense in the business world, not so much in the consumer realm, generally speaking.

Well, you basically buy games and rent a device to play on it. Might be interesting case if you have console and then want to play anywhere. But there will be XCloud....

I meant in the sense that you don't have to buy an expensive video card yourself (or any expensive hardware part based on it's performance) as those parts will be on the cloud.
We're on the same page.
My point is, all of this will generally be more expensive in the long-run than native playing, and more hardware will be needed than what people use today, just the location changes. People were expecting free shit and its not going to happen, we're on the same page though.
To be honest, I really don't see a pro to this, generally speaking.... and lots of cons.

I am always on the lookout to improve gaming on the go (meaning travelling, not commuting) so I had interest in it. I loved the idea of a wifi controller that I can take with me anywhere and can play my games anywhere I can find a screen. So all signs were good and I was willing to do a $10 a month subscription too. But they lost me at buying games on this platform, hell no to that. There is absolutely zero reason for me to add another platform to the mix that is already a lot to manage between PS4, XB1 and Switch.
If they want to succeed, they need to have an xbox game pass / PSNOW like subscription with 100s of games to play. Otherwise, this is dead on arrival (IMO). Especially when xCloud is right around the corner and already proven to be a far better deal with just the game pass alone (technology aside).

Yup, and I think streaming content (games) is the future for the industry. I want this to be an option on new hardware as well (it runs in a web browser and I already have google apps on other hardware) and google isn't going to be the only player in the space.
I am sure I will have as many game streaming subs as I have for music and video content.

Stadia hype will disappear shortly after launch. I don't see too many people using that service in the long run, and knowing Google it will probably quietly be shut down after a year or two. Google messed up by not providing some sort of physical box to make it an easier sell and smoother to transition people into.
Stadia by Fall 2020 is no longer part of any conversation once next generation XBOX and PlayStation are out in the wild.
