It's like Steam.
Okay nice, started my download 10 minutes ago. 20 To go , then I can finally see how it runs.
It's like Steam.
Just got home, and my PC was asleep so it hasn't updated yet. I heard a couple of people say they're getting crashes now or worse performance... how widespread is that? Should I update if the game was perfect for me before? Actually, do I have the choice of not updating? I guess in the past with some Steam games I haven't been able to play without updating.

You can turn off auto updating on Steam easily, game by game even. Not sure about the GOG Galaxy version because I can never even tell when it's patching, but have all the patches.
Personally, haven't had a problem with the new patch.
Here are a couple of 4k shots.. I disabled Hairworks to get a consistent 30fps.
Game looks amazing @ 4k.
What's your rig like? GPU/CPU? Looking awesome man.
Fantastic upgrade. Thanks!
What is the performance cost? Looks much better
I'm just on my phone but that looks a shitload better, a lot more fine and precise, not so blocky.
Any word on the promised native DS4 controls and button logos? I am still a little steamed about that one.
Lots of people reporting it. Doesn't seem isolated. Could well mean something.I played for 4 hours so far today and haven't experienced a bug of any kind. Not saying they didn't mess something up, but a few isolated experiences doesn't mean anything.
I just have an old i-7/920, 16G RAM, and Titan X with a 49" 4k TV.
Also using stock settings (all Ultra).. no mods.

I guess I am weird/blind because I consider those differences to be very small and hardly even noticable
Did you see that checking the "scan code" box when selecting what key you want to bind makes the touchpad useable now? No button icons, but everything works now.
I use swipes for signs, multitouch for quick save, and left/right for inventory and map.
And native support was not promised. Check the tweet again...PR guy said they hoped to add it.
nice. should have left it on for the screenies though.
No there is nothing wrong with my monitor. People just have really weird definitions of MASSIVE and shitload etcSomething could be wrong with your monitor I suppose. The difference is MASSIVE in those two shots.
Aight, found an old save and old screenshot and lined them up.
1.03 mipmap on left. 1.04 mipmap on right.
Maybe you should check this one. But whatever. I just wanted to know if they talked any more about adding proper support for the thing.
Maybe hair works is usable on my 670 with AA at 2?
Pitfalls of having a patch cert process managed by Sony.I'm still on1.01 on ps4.. I should have gotten this game for PC. Looks like it will be another 3 weeks before we get 1.04

can someone who knows a lot about tinkering with the graphics here tell me how I can get rid of the shimmering effect that I see on some of the characters. For instance on the Witcher necklace that geralt wears sometimes the corners shimmer in the light as does his armor it's really kind of distracting how do I get rid of that??
Just a headsup with 1.04 and the mip map stuff.
For some fucked up reason in nvidia control panel, if I set the negative LOD bias to Allow, this stuff works.
If I set it to global (which is set to allow) it doesn't work.
I leave the setting at 0 in the rendering.ini (\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base) and can freely play with the setting under [Rendering] in the user.settings file (in my documents/witcher 3) (add the line if it doesn't exit - it disappeared a few times for me while trying to figure out what was going on).
If anyone was having issues getting the mipmap stuff to work, cross-posting:
I honestly have no idea if it's working or not...
Hmmmm. The patch definitely did not add TextureMipBias to my user.settings file. I guess I need to add it manually?
