Wrestling isn't Wrestling (Max Landis short)

Never thought I'd see Macaulay Culkin doing... well, anything after Home Alone. Only 3 minutes in, but I'm liking it so far. The storylines do sound absurd when described like that.

Can't wait to watch this later, looks like fun!

Also, dat Punk.

I liked when he went off on how shitty Cena is.

'People who are better than him.'

In 2000, the time Landis is talking about, HHH was legit worlds ahead of Chris Jericho in every possible regard.

This guy's a real piece of crap. Who is he fooling? Goddamn.

I can't even tell if you're joking or what

(Hint: nobody knows whether you're in character or not outside of the wrasslin' thread)

Heeey, Kazarian and Daniels were in there!

And was that Joey Ryan in the HURGH AMERICA bit near the beginning?

*looks out for more cameos*

EDIT: OH SHIT FRANK SOBOTKA

That was pretty fucking on point, to be honest. This line at the end, in particular, sums up the beauty of wrestling;

"We love to watch people grow, change, struggle. Good people, bad people, we don't care."

When viewed in isolation, wrestling can seem hokey, poorly written, badly acted and it's easy to see why so many people hold such a low opinion of it. But for a fan, for someone who watched year after year after year, the capacity for that cycle of struggle & growth is something that's nearly unmatched in any other form of fiction. When the video talks about Daniel Bryan at the end getting his WrestleMania moment, that wasn't just his moment, it was a moment for his fans as well. I'd followed his career since 2002 and to see him go from the scrawny young kid wrestling in high school gyms to THE guy main eventing WrestleMania, soaking up the adulation of thousands upon thousands of fans, that was such a wonderful, vicarious moment I'll always remember. That's the power of professional wrestling.

That was pretty amusing. Playing "spot the wrestler" in every scene change helped. I wonder if this is what Landis visited WWE HQ for a while back.

It's basically Professional Wrestling, Soap Opera and Superhero comics, really. The difference between X-Men, All My Children, and WWE Smackdown is nowhere near as big as you'd think looking at the surface. They're all doing essentially the same thing.

I know this isn't the point, but I really liked Triple H and never thought he was a second-rate character.

It's kind of true though, HHH almost always had to keep other big names around him in order to keep himself relevant. Solo HHH has always been pretty boring (IMHO). He did his job pretty damn well though, because he's probably #1 on my all time heels I hated to see on my TV list.

That was great. Thoroughly enjoyed watching and it sells what can make it so great. If only the booking would hold up at least 60% of the time.
