The early Super Famicom itself wasn't going to have BC but that other build was a redesigned Famicom, named the Famicom Adaptor (strangely enough) for the 8-bit games.
Now here is Electronic Gaming Monthly's report on the Super Famicom from
July 1989 (EGM #2).
And sure, they show that redesigned 8-bit Famicom saying it was the original Famicom, even though it's obviously not the
actual original design from 1983.
Plus, they get the year it was released wrong, saying 1985 (NES came to America in '85). Otherwise, it was a pretty fascinating article for the time.
(Actual 1983 8-bit Famicom)
Electronic Gaming Monthly's next major update on the Super Famicom,
July 1990 (EGM #12).
Another good article, however they're saying SFC was revealed to the Japanese press in summer of 1989. No, that happened Nov. '88. Their own coverage began in summer 1989.
October 1990 (EGM #15) SFC Japan pre-launch.
Thanks, I appreciate that
but I don't use twitter, facebook or social media in general.
