Barrett hasn't been able to stay healthy. Every time he started to get a push, he'd get injured. That's not on the WWE, it's just an unfortunate truth. Glad he was able to leave on his own terms, but his mediocre run isn't really fair to pin on the WWE.
Sandow was going nowhere. They didn't do him any favors by failing to capitalize on the crowd reaction to his sidekick gimmick but even once that was over, he never seemed to be able to grab the crowd's attention without siphoning off someone else (hence his impression gimmick). It's a shame, because he's clearly talented, just was never able to put it all together. He'll find a decent landing spot in Japan or the indies.
The rest are pretty sensible departures. With the influx of new talent, it doesn't make sense to keep people on the payroll who aren't part of plans moving forward -- and I'm glad we're finally past the sideshow era of Hornswoggle and the like.
