Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

When PS2 was still new hardware the types of FX being used was as of yet seen in a videogame. We were seeing lots of crazy particle effects, more impressive lighting effects, frame buffer effects up the wazoo (Depth of field, for instance, was extremely impressive at the time), and more. While it's true that a lot of games used field rendering to achieve 60 fps...there was plenty of others that did not (MGS2, for instance).

What the PS2 was doing back then was really pretty impressive for its time. I feel that the PS2 was more impressive in its day than the upcoming PS3 and 360 titles are today. When I first played The Bouncer (not so good), ZOE, MGS2, GT3, ICO, Silent Hill 2, and the rest of the bunch...I felt as if I was seeing things FAR beyond anything I had seen before (and I was). The PS2 pushed impressive visuals at 60 fps...which made so many of those titles so impressive.

I know what you are saying, though, and it's kind of a shame. There are so many things I'd be willing to sacrifice in order to see more 60 fps.

After reading all that, I'm glad I grew out of my 60fps over all else phase years ago. :P

It seems to be the same, booooooooring demo that was available on partnernet. The worst thing about the graphics is that the opening movie could easily be ingame, the first time you see it you get pumped to play the game, and then all you find is... walking in a desert mountain with a slow as hell mech. :-(

It referenced as the "Wimbledon" demo and I have it under "newly released demos."

:lol :lol :lol

Yup, because they re-skinned the demo with the Wimbeldon stadium, and are re-releasing it.

I wonder how long it took this updated demo to go through the certification process...

Arne,

Did the recent maintenance on X360 have anything to do with the Prey demo's release time? It appears a few are noticing faster load times.
