PC gaming was huge in the 90's I think you find. Back in those days the likes of id wouldn't even lower themself's to develop on the consoles.
The '90s were the time when a dedicated PC game could top the charts and where even so many retail shops had huge dedicated PC sections. It was the days when consoles owners had to make do with PC to console ports, rather than the console leading development like today.
And in those days so-called PS exclusives like G Police, Tomb Raider 2,3 Final Fantasy 7,8, Colin McRae, GTA Ect all were also out on the PC and looked and run better too thanks to 3DFX.
Funny how the PS fanboys weren't so keen to point that out then, but make a big deal of Xbox games out on the PC and looking better today.
