Xbox One November Update (Coming soon to select Preview Members)

I don't see the slow-downs and hang-ups that many complain about unless I start snapping apps, which I almost never do, so it's not been a big problem for me. I'm also very studious about closing an app/game as soon as I'm done with it using the menu button, rather than letting the system close them as resources are needed, so that probably helps as well. Still, I'm looking forward to a more streamlined, snappy interface.

I am not sure it will. If I understood the process correctly: The first thing that will happen is everyone in the preview program currently will get a message asking if they'd like to participate or not. Those that indicate they would like to patriciate will be used as a pool of members that they will draw from for the first wave. They said the first wave will be those that have been the most active in the program thus far.

Hopefully we get the message asking if we'd like to patriciate or not today at least.

It's possible they've already flagged the top x users, so when/if they opt in they'd be able to get an update right away. No way to know for sure until it happens though.
 
I would be OK, when they would just release a video showing the new OS completely.

The previous videos did a very good job of basically showing nothing except Home and part of the new guide ;-)
 
Isn't there a new firmware update that was sent out today as well? I think the invites will go out today as well.

So probably Thursday / Friday this week for the XBL messages.

Then we get a few days to enroll into the new preview via the xbox one app.

And then the first wave could get the dashboard in the middle of next week :-)

if they want it for the general public it has to get out there soon

I do know not all features will work initially in the preview
just follow mike Ybarra on twitter

Middle of Oct for testing? No way. Its coming out this month to preview member if they want to release it before the holiday. Even for preview members it will be rolling out in waves. By the end of this month I am expecting every preview member will have it. Next month small patch, fixes etc. And nov. Final release.
 
I'm quite confident that I will not be invited to this beta just like I'm still not invited to the bloody Fable Legends beta...

They haven't said when they are releasing it in November.
It could be at the end of November (or more likely the 22nd November when its the 10th Xbox 360 anniversary.)

So every single preview members getting it by mid October is not out the question.
I honestly expect that a lot of people (including me) won't get their hands on it till October at the latest.

Will be early November, the elite controller/console will release the same time as the new dash.

It has to be early Nov. If you listened to what Phil said last year, he doesnt want to roll out update during the time when they sell millions of consoles. Thats what they did last year. Sooner black Friday the better.

That's probably to remember the users that they're going to download software that may not be stable. Considering it's a major overhaul of the whole system, I guess rough experiences are a high possibility.

If Halo 5 was out already, I'd think twice about signing up that's for sure.
 
Normally they should release an official FAQ of "want could not work" before sending out the XBL-Messages shouldn´t they?

Would be quiet bad if everybody opts in and 2 days later we find out that party chat between old and new dashboard is not possible or something like that :-)

Since they are picking a limited number to start, they probably look through the people that provided feedback and are ok with beta software and things not working. Last thing they want is people signing up and moaning that "shits all broken captain!" which is guaranteed to happen.
