It has been like that for me since yesterday. I guess it takes a while.
Oh yeah, I got a message from Xbox and was able to changed that "enrolled" to pending for new update.
Hmm don't think so... Guess it's a message in the dashboard's inbox?
They've been deploying hotfixes all week. You'll probably see one every day at the very least I'm sure.
If you check the Preview App that came with the update you should see a changelist in "What's New" portion. Yesterday it was not only "What's New" but also "by the way we know about X Y and Z, so please keep reporting them".
I'm still hating on not being able to buy games directly from the store and no longer having a "Coming Soon" panel.

Just got the update. I've got a feeling Cortana is going to take some getting used to.
I instinctively said "Xbox go to Doom", and it prompted me to enable Cortana. So I did.
I say "Hey Cortana, go to Doom", and it pops up in the top right and says "listening"
I say "go to Doom", and it gives some error
I try "Hey Cortana, go to Doom" a couple more times, with her telling me she doesn't understand. She keeps thinking I'm saying "go to do"
I say "Hey Cortana, are you fucking stupid?" and it correctly hears me, and she says "I don't have all the answers" or something like that.
I say "Hey Cortana" and wait... then say "go to Doom" and it says "which one? Doom II or Doom 3 BFG Edition"
I try a few more times, and it just launches Doom II.
I figure I'll try something with less conflicting game titles, and say "Hey Cortana, go to Destiny". It works, but takes like 5+ seconds of her thinking before she does it. Also, she says "opening De..." and she gets cut off. The "Xbox go to Destiny" command was be nearly instant before.
I try "Hey Cortana, go to Doom" again, and it opens up a pinned search for "open tomb", and she says "I got this for you", then it closes like 5 seconds later without me doing anything.
I try "Hey Cortana, go to My Games and Apps". She says, "I'll look for that in the store, it opens the store, then immediately goes back to the home screen. (did the store crash?) Now it's just sitting on the home screen with all the readable text on the screen highlighted in green, and it keeps beeping as if to tell me she's listening.
I say "Hey Cortana, go to store", and she opens a pinned bing search for the phrase "go to store", hahaha.
The Cortana voice commands feels like they're replacing something that worked perfectly fine (Kinect voice commands) with something that barely works, and is slower (Cortana)

Is it possible to disable kinect for Cortana? I want to use my headset.

Sucks it was in the middle of a Halo 5 BTB game, but my Xbox got the update. Downloading now. Super pumped.
Just got the update myself (finally!). Hopefully no hard drive issues, I've got 2+ TB of games that need to look all pretty in the new collection UI :3
Edit: No problems so far. I like the new details in the store, but navigating it is incredible unintuitive. It looks like they designed it around a mouse.

Love the new game library, do not like the placement of the My Games & Apps icon. I'm sure I'll adjust, but just hitting right trigger and hitting A was so much easier. Idk time will tell. Stellar update so far.
According to your search behavior, we came up with the most likely result.
I have similar issues. It's even worse when i use the German Cortana to open a game with an English Name(hint: all of them). She is always trying to Bing some nonesense words like Oberberg instead of overwatch. And even if she understand the game title (hitman) she just Bings for a Hitman...

I'm having those issues too, but for most it's just a matter of debugging/polishing it, Cortana clearly heard the right command and recognized the name, but for some reason failed to trigger the right action. Nothing really worrying, there's no reason they can't make it work.
Right now I'm more annoyed at the required timing, it is necessary to add a slight pause after "hey Cortana", longer than what was necessary with "Xbox" (maybe half a second). I don't know if they can shorten that, but most of my false negatives were because I hadn't waited enough.
Also the fact that she has to "think" before acting makes it less responsive than what we had before. Apparently standard commands like "pause" should be faster (cf known issues), I'm not sure about channel switching.

I'm not finding I have to pause after "hey cortana". When it recognizes the command properly, it works fine. The bold part is what really bothers me though. I just told her to go to Destiny, and it took 5 seconds the little box in the upper right to open, say "thinking", write out my command one word at a time, then actually launch the game. Then I waited for her to stop listening and say "hey cortana, go home". I timed it with a stopwatch, and it took 10 seconds for it to figure out the command and do it.
This is all in English with a midwestern accent (what many in the US would call "no accent"). I assume this is the accent the system would have the least issues with.

Yeah, this works best for me too. Cortana seems better at recognising what I'm saying, but is worse at actually doing it. Still early days though.

I got the message that I could enroll in the latest beta on Monday, and it said pending until Thursday when it updated to the new dashboard.

Which is even weirder when we literally have the same kind of speech patterns/accent as Americans. However, change your region to US and viola! You can use Cortana.
I got to enrol two days ago, last night it still said "Pending" but this morning when I turned the console on it prompted me for the update before showing the dash - so you may receive the update in a day or two even with it showing as Pending.
I have received the update 2 days ago and am also still pending.
Sure, I disconnect the device. The Kinect wasn't mine; I just wanted to try it out for a bit.
Ok thanks. Got the invitation message last week I think but just updated to the latest preview two days ago and wondered why the status is still "enrollchangepending"

How do I get Cortana to actually launch games/apps? Every time I ask her to do something she brings up Bing results.

How do you get the new Windows 10 Xbox App? My current one suddenly stopped working and refuses to record any CSGO clips, used to work just fine, but not it won't Record clips, or take Screenshots.
Hoping the new app fixes this, and I want to see if CSGO is one of the games that's allowed to be shared on Xbox Live

It did that for me at first too. Saying "Launch" instead of "Go to" worked, and then "Go to" eventually worked as well. It was pretty strange.
It's either 'start' 'go to' or 'play'
Try them all because we're all having different luck with them!
edit, seem launch is another one I have to try then.
