Exact. the only reason Nadella and all of Microsoft agreed to spend all this money on acquisitions (not just Bethesda's) is because of gamepass. All of those acquisitions serve to make the service a must have and to ensure a roll in of games.Part of Nadella's pay is based on Game Pass subscribers, so putting games on PS without a way to subscribe to Game Pass on the console is moot.
Well yeah I don’t see why. More potential customers, more money, no?Wont Sony ad Nintendo make more money releasing their first party games on other platforms?
They make more money now on PC when the games are on Steam, so what’s different with consoles?Part of Nadella's pay is based on Game Pass subscribers, so putting games on PS without a way to subscribe to Game Pass on the console is moot.
Man fanboys really have their egos invested in this Bethesda exclusivity deal...
I do wonder what the reactions would be if TES VI & Starfield were to release on PS5 at some point?
If they end up never coming to PS5, it's really not that the end of the world. Folks can just get a Series X | S or Gamepass on PC if they're dying to play those titles I suppose.
I just hope the financial and technical support from Microsoft will dramatically improve the quality of Bethesda titles from what we've had previously, multi-platform or not.
As a side note, it's kind of funny how some people magically forget the past couple of Bethesda games were ridden with bugs and shitty micro-transactions, simply because Microsoft bought them.
At the end of the day, I really couldn't careless if a game is platform exclusive, timed exclusive, or whatever. So long as I get a solid and enjoyable gaming experience out of it.

Its mostly about the bottom line and not top line.Won’t they make more money for the shareholders if they release the games on more platforms?
What does the amount of views have to do with it being an original or not? There’s no goalposts in the sport I’m referring to. Nothing is getting moved. You all just flock to a comment without reading and the conversation shiftsIt’s been the most watched series on netflix when it launched, like usual if somerbody posts a point you dont agree with you move the goalposts
They make more money by having tens of millions of people paying $10-15 per month. shareholders love annual recurring revenue. Everyone does. Its difficult to buy anything now that doesnt have a subscription.Won’t they make more money for the shareholders if they release the games on more platforms?
It just won’t be an original IP. That’s the point I was making. It isn’t halo and it probably never will be as far as its associationI see no problem seeing the elder scroll as an exclusive
The problem with that is that you wouldn't have any option but to buy a PlayStation console. With MS their games show up day and date for PC. If your PC is too weak, you can stream it on mobile and soon in your browser.I get the frustration. If i only had xbox and sony bought capcom and made resident evil exclusive id be annoyed. At some point though you just need to accept that this is the way things are now though
a reboot will fix everythingIt just won’t be an original IP. That’s the point I was making. It isn’t halo and it probably never will be as far as its association

Why on earth would you want others to not play a game just because the box they use is different?hope they announce starfield/esvi and all future titles are xbox + pc exclusive.
you wanna play elder scrolls vi? buy an xbox or build a pc.

And it will always be a Netflix original that was purchased by Amazonthe amount of views is important to how big a franchise is, same with games. The more it sells the more important they become.
The fact the franchise has a massive following will make people jump ship to another platform that holds exclusivity to it. If stranger things jumped to PRIME do you not think they would get a massive boost in install base?
it’s as simple as that
Maybe. But each franchise? It will take 2 installments which is 2 console generations if they release every 5-7 years.a reboot will fix everything
honestly this is the last of the problems cmonMaybe. But each franchise? It will take 2 installments which is 2 console generations if they release every 5-7 years.
Years? Starfield is expected to release this year.. Wolf 3 is likely releasing soon too.You might be the only one. You have years before these games release. In the meantime, enjoy Deathloop and Ghostwire
I didn't know that MS owned Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider IP lol.Microsoft will keep PS5 release secret, just like when they did with Tomb Raider something or rather.
18m gamepass subs would need to grow exponentially to support a Bathesda sized publisher and all their games. The bet was on xcloud, but that dream is all but a dream.
I didn’t say it was a problem. Again, this goes back to the ridiculous question asked often like “why doesn’t sony release GoW on Nintendo or why doesn’t Msoft release halo on PS. Those are original IPs and brand associated. That’s it.honestly this is the last of the problems cmon
starfield is a new IP. Doesn’t apply to the point because it’s never been released on any console.Years? Starfield is expected to release this year.. Wolf 3 is likely releasing soon too.
... You were claiming that Xbox exclusive Bethesda games won't be coming out soon, so Sony fans don't have to be worried. And you brought up Deathloop and Ghostwire, which are also new IPs...I didn’t say it was a problem. You think? I don’t know. Long shot. Have they shown anything besides a picture?... You were claiming that Xbox exclusive Bethesda games won't be coming out soon, so Sony fans don't have to be worried. And you brought up Deathloop and Ghostwire, which are also new IPs...
And it will always be a Netflix original that was purchased by Amazon
And none originally made by Disney or developed by Disney. They bought franchises and characters that have been around for decades. I know I personally don’t think of Disney when I think of marvel or Star Wars. Alien franchise ? Come on. It will take, IMO, 2 releases minimum for people to start associating fallout with Xbox the way halo and master chief are. It’s not a negative, it’s just the way it is. Again, I’m just saying that when the argument of exclusives goes towards the halo and Mario and uncharted. It’s not the same. Ownership does not cement brand association. It takes time and there’s no guarantee.no it would now be Amazon owned. Is avengers solely a Marvel production? No it’s Disney. Star Wars is Disney , Fox is now Disney. They are all owned by Disney
Not that big of a longshot when reliable insiders are claiming that as of a few months ago 2021 was the target. You think? I don’t know. Long shot. Have they shown anything besides a picture?

Lol Microsoft is not converting any steam users. They are just as hardened as any other warrior they are just in denial about it. That is why the pc was a foolish market for Microsoft to try. Your paying 30% to lord gaben and getting very few full priced sales as pc gamers are the cheapest out there. They love to drop 1k on a video card but 49.99 for a game damn greedy corporations were is that Russian vpn for a 15 dollar version.Because a PC is an open platform. A Steam user can be easily converted to a Game Pass subscriber, so there is no harm in putting games on Steam. PS doesn't have that ease.
give me some info on that sweet ass starfield.
None but Steam users aren’t using Gamepass to play their fav games on PC either.Lmk how many ps5 users are using Gamepass to play their fav games on ps5
Easily? lolBecause a PC is an open platform. A Steam user can be easily converted to a Game Pass subscriber, so there is no harm in putting games on Steam. PS doesn't have that ease.
Here is the thing steam releases take no development resources like a ps5 version that makes the series x version worse. They are spreading development over more platforms.None but Steam users aren’t using Gamepass to play their fav games on PC either.
Easily? lol
But fair enough it’ll be harder on PS so I can accept that argument.
I’m mostly thinking that we wouldn’t have heard any comment about first and best on Xbox if they had no plans to release the games elsewhere. What were they referring to with those comments in that case?
It would need some resources for sure, the Windows Store and Steam versions aren’t the same. Here is the thing steam releases take no development resources like a ps5 version that makes the series x version worse. They are spreading development over more platforms.
First and better could mean service games that will still be multiplatform like elder scrolls online will get content first on Microsoft platforms and get exclusive content like special skins or missions.
They were referring to GaaS games.None but Steam users aren’t using Gamepass to play their fav games on PC either.
Easily? lol

I enjoyed Cyberpunk. A space RPG will be fun.Starfield may also be terrible like cyberpunk and others.
