Thanks everyone.
I'd have to bust out my PSP to try the first of the trilogy hmmmmm.

If they release it on at least the PS3, I guess I'll dabble in it.

Edit: I guess Vita instead,

Is trails in the sky eventhat good. It was recommended to me in my PSP recommendations thread so I got a used copy but its just lying in a stack of games I haven't finished or even started haha

The first one is really good, haven't played the others since they're not translated.

I will pre-order when they announce it tomorrow.

Assuming they put up pre-orders right away this time.

If they release this on PC and psp/vita, I'm double dipping. Hell I'll triple dip. PC version, psp version, psp digital version via vita.

If it's on steam I'll gift it to at least 3 friends on release day. Wish I could send gifts on PSN too.
Good. Don't let me down, Trails-GAF.

Amg!

Can finally finish the first game now that I know I can actually finish the story!

PC, PS3, PSP, I don't care, take my money.

I like how it's coming out a bit after I beat the Japanese version :x

Maybe third will come out after I finally play it.

I've heard the exact same thing from Dark Schala. I'm pretty excited as a result. Plus I love the character designs for Sen.

Wait... so this is the sequel to the PSP game? I thought it was an HD Remaster of the PSP game which was also on the PC.

SC is "second chapter." It's the second game. The one that's in English on PSP is FC/First Chapter.

TITS was split into three chapters. The West only got the first one.

There were HD Remasters of the PSP games that were released on PS3 though recently.

Is it reasonable to hope a PC port for the first and the PC version of this? Never played both since I don't have a PSP but I'm always interested.

The games already exist on PC. They were originally PC games before they were ever ported to PSP. And Steam is the most likely target for this release, easily.
I also think that it is a great idea to re-release FC for PC, to build the userbase. They really should do that.

Do you need to play the original before the sequel? And what's the odds of this getting a physical release?

I've always been interested in the series, but it seemed like it was dead in the west so I've been ignoring it.

Yes. SC takes place immediately after the first one.

TEACH ME ABOUT BAZONGAS TiTS!

Seriously everyone seems to be getting really excited and it's Xseed :X I love JRPGs would love to get more localized!

Nah, they have the licenses for all three games but uhm... it's just taking a long time, lol.

Well, not if their intention is to keep going with the series, since it's only on consoles.

Weren't all the games on PC before the consoles? They could just stick some of the HD assets in or something and release some kind of ~Fancy Edition~ on Steam. It'd certainly sell a shitton.

Did Falcom ever release SC on PSN after Square figured out how to do it with Type-0? Can't remember right now, but if not it'd be even more difficult for it to be PSP. Steam would be very, very nice.

I really want this but I played the first TITS on the PSP and while I wanted to love it, it was just incredibly slow paced.

They need to build the userbase for SC, because you can't just play SC by itself. It would make no sense. It's okay to go to other platforms for other games. I mean, 3rd should be released on the same platform as FC/SC if they do it, but Zero/Ao can be on another platform, because they start a new story arc. That said, Zero has a PC version and Ao will have one soon.

oh fuck really good chance it's Second Chapter?

omg omg omg omg omg omg omg my friend and I have been waiting for ages. He's going to cream his pants.

No, like... it's like a 99.9% chance it's SC, lol. Unless someone else has green/white thigh arm gaps.

Will I be able to play it for cheap or am I going to have to go hunting?

It's like 20 bucks new, so I don't think you'll have any problems.

Is the third game a must to complete the story? Or is this a different situation to the first game?

3rd builds and fleshes out a ton of things, but it isn't 100% necessary. SC ends an arc. That said, 3rd is my favorite game and it has so many great story moments, so I sure hope they release it someday.

From what I've heard, the third game is more of a side-story with some of the same characters. Very different situation than the second game (which is a direct continuation to the cliffhanger ending of the first game).

I'm hope this is real. I refuse to play FC until we get confirmation SC and TC will be released in the west.

What kind of combat system does this game have? First glance it kind of looks like Grandia but with a turn order in the corner of the screen

I misread your post, I thought you were talking about the second chapter.

Uhm, no, it's not.
Zero/Ao/Sen no Kiseki are on PC?
