Yakuza 0 |OT| Yes, you can start with this one!

Made it to the finale with 81% progress. How long does the last chapter roughly take? I also got 98/100 substories so I guess
I'll get invited to fight the Amons
, will I?

i'm kinda up in the clouds right now but roughly i would say that the finale is like the last 3 chapters combined, at least

That's kinda long but I'm enjoying
the hype build up. I think I can finish the story tomorrow. Only thing I didn't like was the distant relative trope which was nonsense and super unlikely. Game's story definitely took a turn for the worse at that point.

That's the zap gun? I don't think I have that. I used the golden shotgun, but have so little ammo in it that usually have to resort to something else.

What's the trick to get the most bonus cash out of Shakedown? I got it up to 1.2 according to the options screen, but not sure if it can go higher or not.
It only works with Kiryu, but you need the Shrine CP ability that gets you more cash from Shakedown encounters, then before you beat him in a fight you have to lose once. Once he's carrying all your money, that bonus multiplier gets you even more.

I think the story took a nosedive from the moment Shimano revealed
why he gave Majima the assassination job. The entire idea is such a shot in the dark and so many things could've gone wrong since he didn't even tell Sawano, that the actual reason he should've revealed was "I just wanted to create some artificial tension.". The fact that his dumb plan actually worked in the end didn't make it any less stupid for me, that was just the writers covering their asses. And from that point the story kinda fell into "Characters do dumb shit that puts them in unneccesary danger just to create drama." what with Makoto disappearing to actually meet up with the Yakuza bosses after her little date with Majima, among other things.

It was still fun and it's not like the series isn't full of dumb twists anyway, but for this game specifically that was kinda the moment were the plot fell apart.

I'm (I hope) at least halfway through this thing.

Disco finally clicked. It's not just the shit, hypersensitive frame perfect inputs that makes Disco really hard, it's that the first song is terrible.

Getting into a groove can really help you out on the later songs, the button presses are timed very well to the music, but Friday Night is like just a few milliseconds off so trusting your ears tends to hurt you. Also you can much more easily fever times on harder difficulties; beating the insane disco queen was much easier on Hard mode than on Easy.

Cabaret Club is legit fun as hell, certainly moreso than the combat itself. I really hoped I could run the Grand instead of this clearly segregated part of the story, but this works pretty well as a mini-management simulator. I kinda wish that the timer never paused no matter what you did... would add a certain layer of skill to the whole proceedings and simulate the plate juggling that an actual manager position would entail. As it stands it's pretty much impossible for the timer to be an issue since time stops whenever you are addressing a problem.

Nah, I hate games where navigating the UI in real time becomes part of the challenge. It gets hard enough in the boss battles as it is.

I agree with you about the Grand though; it's strange that they created this elaborate space that you manage, but can't ever do much with.

I don't know, once disco dancing clicked for me i beat Friday Night, Koi No Disco Queen and I Wanna Take You Home on hard without too much effort. Only Queen of Passion and I'm Gonna Make Her Mine took me a bit longer to beat on hard. But i agree that it's easier to do well on higher difficulties, at least it feels more natural to me to get into the groove with more notes to hit. Also, sometimes it's to your advantage to skip the 3rd fever, as you'll get more points in the same amount of time if you have a combo going.

Seconded on Cabaret Club, i completely skipped it after the mandatory tutorial, because i didn't enjoy hostess club management in the previous games, but once i got back to it in Premium Adventure, it turned out to be incredibly fun and i binged on it until i beat the club owner storyline.

Slow down in curves. That got me from 3,5 mil to 7 mil within a day. I definitely had the most fun with Outrun, whereas I didn't enjoy Space Harrier and I have yet to complete Fantasy Zone.

When? I'm yet to remember seeing a patch for this game, and I've had it for almost two months.

They released several patches for the game actually. During the first weeks we got a patch every few days that added another bonus item pack that you could get from the clown.

Afterwards they released a patch that fixed a crash when playing...I think it was Blackjack or something, one of the casino games anyway, and fixed a weird sound mix-up, where during the bossfight with the
chinese assassin
his voice from the chinese localization would play instead.

I randomly stumbled into phone chatting/dating last night. Those controls are just... why.

Also why did they nerf the batting cages so badly? 3 strikes and you're out instead of best of 20? Basically unplayable now >_<

Outrun in this game lacks the precision of the original steering wheel. The analog stick is way too twitchy (unless they've fixed that in a patch) and the d-pad's input velocity is so great that I have to tap-tap-tap it to not immediately go off the road.

I never enjoyed Space Harrier, even back when it came out. It was graphically impressive at the time, but the mechanics of "constantly move to avoid being hit" just seem janky and unfun. I think it's kind of a shit game, but I know that's a minority opinion here.

Think I'm gonna pick this up as it's on EU now.
After finishing Horizon and Gravity Rush 2 I feel like playing something left field and just bat shit crazy (which this is according to Gaffers and the few videos I've seen).

At the same time I also am intrigued by the more serious storytelling aspects to the game too.

Hopefully I enjoy it as my first ever Yakuza game!

I haven't really had the time to play much - but just finished Chapter 4 and it feels like some of the stuff is really starting to dip into the weird stuff now.

When I met these guys I had to try and make a gif

giphy.gif

So I just got to the part where
Kiryu leaves for Sotenbori
can anyone tell me if I'm close to the end or not? Or maybe like a percentage of the main story.
Also I'm at 74 hours I fucking love this game.

Finished Chapter 11 last night, and really enjoyed it. I might be able to finish it within a week or so. Sad that the game is finishing up, but I do need to move on to other games I've purchased like Nioh and Zelda.

I've hardly touched the cabaret stuff and only done 1 and a half districts in the Real Estate Game. This game is so lengthy (and so good).

Ok, this is probably a dumb question but I need help with the cabaret czar storyline. I finished the game months ago having made good progress in both the cabaret and real estate stories. Now I've returned, finished real estate and won the cabaret area I was in when I took a break, club Venus. Now I want to get into club Moon's territory but I can't interact with any of the shops or start gaining fans there otherwise. Am I forgetting something or is there something I must trigger to start the process of taking that final territory?

You should be able to tackle club moon once you defeat venus in a cabaret battle. Well you need to defeat all other clubs first.

Just completed all mahjong achievements, now to complete game at Legend difficulty and platinum trophy achieved.

Second Ps4 game platinum after Bloodborne. Both are amazing games that deserved to be 100% completed even if Yakuza 0 mahjong was harder and much more frustrating than all Bloodborne bosses, lol.

Yes, but can I start a pool match, quit it instantly and redo that? That didn't work yesterday.

You need to win I think 3 pool matches to unlock the golden ball mode.

In order to win golden ball, you need to be the one who pots the golden ball and the one who wins. If you do both, you get the video. If you pot the golden ball and lose, or don't pot the ball and win then you just get the money back which you paid to play.

If you quit midway through a match then it doesn't count.

Okay, can't wait to try that once I'm home. Her video's the last and then I'm done with that CP.

I think karaoke and Mahjong are gonna be pretty challenging for the 100%. Maybe darts too because I sucked at it
during the cabaret dates.
I've finished batting, dancing and the arcade entirely bar Fantasy Zone. I think I should manage 100% if I just sit down and learn Mahjong.

Yeah, I just checked the IGN guide and I'm missing club Jupiter's hostess, so maybe I haven't done that cabaret battle yet after all before I took the break. Would be unusual for the way I normally play games but that must be the problem.

You can do them out of order once you beat Mars so it's possible to miss one.
Easiest way is as you said to make sure you have all the platinum hostesses minus the last one.

Started today, I cleared chapter 1.
Is there a way to find on the map all interesting spots? Like there was this dude who said me to meet him to a certain place so he can teach me something, but of course I forgot.

Also, do you know if Kiwami on PSN will be 30€ or 35€?
I'm not interested in the Steelbook for the physical edition, and if I can grab the game for 20€ (I have a 10€ voucher) would be great.

Combat teachers are shown on your map as little, white dudes, but you can't meet him until chapter 2 so he won't show up on your map yet.

And in general, shops are yellow, restaurants orange and any kind of entertainment spot is pink. Story relevant buildings show up as blue on your map but most of them are inaccessible, safe for specific moments in the story.

Sidequests only show up on your map once you already started it, so it shows where to go next but not how to even activate the quest so always keep your eyes open.

Yeah I know the building stuff, and I also played all Yakuza games...but in EVERY one of them I ONLY did the story, I wanted to try some sides for 0 for the first time in my life :p

Yeah, well, go visit the disco immediatly then.

Speaking of, a lot of sidequests are not only found by wandering around the city, but regularily doing certain minigames or visiting certain restaurants or shops.
