There was an IGN headline generater, has there been a Square Enix game title generator?

They wound up being excessively compressed on the PS3 and PC as well. It was disappointing that the CG in the game wasn't handled by the same people as the SE promos.GillianSeed79 said:I'm currently a little over halfway through Deus Ex and I am loving it. My one gripe is that the story CG cut scenes, at least on the 360, are horribly, horribly compressed.
How about Square Enix lending them some CG artists next time.

It did have pretty low numbers, but relative to Square Enix's other recent efforts, it did pretty well.Boney said:Wait Nirolak, I thought people on last NPD were saying that that even though HR topped the charts it was still a lowish number for such a high profile game. I guess that's just gaffers being just regular schmoes that don't know nothin'?

Outside of FF, DQ, and KH (that last one is fading fast), Square Enix really has very little in the way of successful series, so continuing Deus Ex is a very attractive proposition for them.
Oh for sure.Man God said:The last one is fading because for whatever reason they decided not to make a Wii or PS360 KH 3.
Coolio. This is total speculation on my part, but having Deus Ex as one of their premier portafolio titles along with TR and the usual SE titles, would probably mean they'd want to accomodate the constant 2 year cycle they have in mind for FF. Do you think DE as a brand has the power and versatibility to allow for this development cycles? Or do you think Wada has a different plan in mind?Nirolak said:It did have pretty low numbers, but relative to Square Enix's other recent efforts, it did pretty well.

I wouldn't actually be surprised if overall Deus Ex: Human Revolution doesn't make money, but I imagine their main goal was to establish the series for a more profitable, better selling sequel.

While we haven't had an update in a while, when Wada first shared his plans a few years ago, his goal was to raise the number of major brands Square Enix had from three to (at least) eight.Boney said:Coolio. His definition of "major brand" was a series that could ship 2+ million units with a mainline/major entry.
The reason he wanted this was because it would allow Square Enix to release a 2+ million selling game each fiscal quarter on a two year basis.
By also implementing a two year development cycle for every team, this meant that they would have a continuous stream of 2+ million selling games for every quarter into the foreseeable future.
Deus Ex did actually manage to ship over 2 million units, but both the sell-through and average selling price are pretty low. However, since the critical reception is good, this speaks well to the series' likelihood of at least maintain its 2+ million shipment number while increasing the average selling price. Combining this with a two year shorter development cycle would cause profitability to go up significantly, and since the base of the game is already there, in theory it shouldn't have an impact on quality.
Overall, I would say that it's very likely Square Enix considers this launch a success and thus intends to use Deus Ex as one of its primary eight brands going forward.
In terms of the near future, I would guess that Thief, Tomb Raider, Hitman, and Kane & Lynch are the other four series they hope to add to this major brand line-up, with their new major IPs (from both Eidos and Square Enix Japan) not showing up until next generation when the market is more favorable to them.
Since Kane & Lynch didn't go so well however, they might be hoping that True Crime can take its place until the brand gets well established. They don't really have to worry about having too many successful games however, so they have a lot more than eight potential candidates for major brands in case some fail.
These plans are in addition to their goals of establishing 2-3 large-scale MMOs (presumably FFXI, FFXIV, and DQX), and making a huge push into the social/mobile/browser space, especially in Japan and mainland Asia.

I think Wada had a hand in Dragon Quest X being online and with ugly graphics that are worse than the PS2 Dragon Quest... Plus he rushed FFXIV out the door.
They've been asked about it before, but Eidos Montreal said they aren't interested in remaking DX1.Vyse The Legend said:What are the odds of them remaking Deus Ex 1 with the Human Revolution engine? The original needs a serious facelift, and it would have a great cost-benefit ratio.

The boss fight for the upcoming The Missing Link DLC was done in-house, with multiple approaches in DX tradition, for what it's worth.ShockingAlberto said:I give Wada shit more than anyone else here because it's under his leadership that Square-Enix has developed a lot of top-down structural and management problems that put them in the shape they're in today.
But he generally lets Eidos do what they do best and thus far hasn't shown any sort of propensity to do otherwise. What's with the outrage and mocking here? Wada's actions with Eidos are exactly what people should be encouraging. He let DEHR take the time it needed, he let Tomb Raider and Thief 4 see delays, he's listening when Eidos studios say they need more time on a game.
If his "plan" for Deus Ex includes letting Eidos Montreal expand to do things like, I don't know, boss fights in-house on Square-Enix's dime while letting them finish the game to their satisfaction, then what does anyone have to complain about?
Kane and Lynch is definitely done for. One of the fastest bombas yet. Was Deus Ex as success because of Wadas support or in spite of it?
