Your most pleasant surprise Switch announcement from the presentation and after

Hopefully this kind of opinion thread is okay. What with the locks over the past day or two, can't figure which are allowed outside of news threads. :P

Anyway, this isn't so much of a "game of the show" thread, but what was like your "holy shit" or just gave you a giant grin in joy upon seeing it in the presentation and after when all the post-show stuff came up?

Doesn't have to be one and only, but try to come up with something that is your top and explain why if you can.

For me, I think it was Super Bomberman R. Folks might know I've been wanting Nintendo to help bring Bomberman back for years, and in the new thread I just made, apparently Nintendo did just that by working with Konami themselves.

It's not my game of the show, as I admit it's not perfect, hell far from it, but BOY did I freak when Bomberman first showed up in the Switch logo. I remember the 4chan leak hours prior and SBR was one of the mentioned games, it was pretty much the one I wanted to happen the most.

Other highlights were Disgaea 5 Complete and of course Sonic Mania (took Sega long enough lol :P). Super Mario Odyssey blew my fucking mind with how huge and, well, Sonic Adventure-esc it looks. It's what I've wanted from Mario since Sunshine.

What other games/moments made you freakout or was at least your big highlight of the event?

Definitely Bomberman, I thought the franchise was dead and buried. Literally felt a warmth in my body when I saw that.

But it might have been something I ate.

I loved the new set of people that represented Nintendo on stage. It evoked a bright future for Nintendo seeing more than the typical Miyamoto/Reggie/Iwata.

zelda day one. mario reveal was great too.

that's about it for me tbh. i don't have an attachment to some of the other sequels revealed.

Shin Megami Tensei Switch caught me off-guard. I was expecting to see something on the system eventually, but not during their big presentation.

SMT V. easily. I was surprised they had that trailer/teaser there.

ARMS. what i thought was a generic, dumb forgettable game turns out to be fairly deep and engaging.

Xenoblade 2!!!!

Zelda for Wii U on the 3rd of March. That's weeks earlier then I originally thought it would release.

I really like this answer. I was very happy to see faces I didn't recognize.

During: the Joy cons. Before the presentation they looked like really cheap afterthoughts but the presentation really sold me on them and I'm very excited to try them once they get a freaking dpad.

After: Suda actually directing the switch game was a megaton for me.

Return of Bomberman - It's been far too long since a new entry
ARMS - Really feeling the style, just hope it plays as fun as it looks
Fire Emblem Warriors - Have been asking for this for almost a decade
Project Octopath - Looks awesome
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - First XBC is one of my favorite games of all time, disappointed by XBCX so hopefully this is a glorious return to form.

It would have been xenoblade 2 and how fast tetsuya takhashi and his team has been working.

But when suda came out and announced no more heroes 3, or atleast something relating to it, I actually got what I wanted for so many years after hearing suda saying he wanted to do a 3rd one

Definitely Xenoblade 2 and that it's "coming this year"

What seems like an actual good sequel to my favorite game of all time AND it's coming out so soon?? I wasn't expecting a new Xenoblade until at least late 2018/2019.

ARMS is my second. It looks really excellent

i was not expecting to actually be into the voice acting for zelda.

i was also not expecting xenoblade chronicles 2 in any way. that shit's gonna be fucking aces.

Snipperclips, than Bomberman than Mario Odissey.

Snipperclips has SO MUCH CHARISMA that it is impossible not to love. Like playable Gumball episode

Bomberman because it is awesome to see both a confirmation of 8 joycon support AND the first bomberman game in almost 15 years.

And Mario Because of being so different from what I expected. Mario 64 style open world with a level out of those weird "remade in unreal 4" levels AND a low poly food world at the SAME TIME ?
This sounds like Galaxy 2 levels of creative to me.

Xenoblade 2, I expected a port the moment the logo came up and all but screamed a second later when it wasn't. Caught completely off guard.

I marked out the hardest for Fire Emblem Musou. Such a perfect pairing and a game I've been dying for ever since Hyrule.

Bomberman and Puyo Puyo Tetris were also nice suprises. I'll be grabbing those and Street Fighter II when they drop. Would love to see more of these types of games. (Castlevania, Contra, Streets of Rage, etc)

Snipperclips! That game looks like a blast. Local multi that makes you want to kill your coop partner while looking adorable. Can't wait

Mario just looked so much more amazing than I expected.

Fast RMX coming in March is fantastic and a new Bomberman has me so excited!

I think the most pleasant surprise for me though is that new game from the Bravely Default team (Octopath Traveller). Looks completely up my alley. New Xenoblade would have been amazing if that art style wasn't just the worst.
