I might be completely wrong but didn't Iwata say that the Japanese team made this trailer?

It is in Japanese whereas the E3 one (i.e. the superior one) was in English.

Well, for one, that E3 trailer was direct feed. I'm not sure what this GDC one was captured from or what was used.

I liked the new SS trailer, but this screenshot looks more appealing than anything in SS. I really wish SS just looked like this instead of going for an "innovative new artstyle."

So, OoT and SS in the same year. I wonder what this Anniversary thing is. Will it be like Super Mario All-Stars, but with Zelda? I doubt it, but who knows?
 
Remember that feeling of excitement that you used to get whenever they announced a new Zelda or released a new zelda trailer? Yeah that feeling is completely absent with Skyward Sword. Though to be fair, it wasn't present with the DS games either.

I think it shows what kind of puzzles and enemy variety is possible. Not necessarily how good the WM+ works. I think you're simplifying things here.

The enemy with the wooden shield looked fun and it shows a lot of possibilities for enemy variety. The lock breaking puzzle is a sign of the types of puzzles that are possible (same thing with moving around the sword to make the eyes dizzy puzzle). Red steel never really focused on any of this type of interaction. You had the freedom to move the sword, but it didn't add anything to the gameplay. Here, I see the gameplay completely designed around the motion plus. I think if you look at the trailer from this perspective, it is much more exciting.

In my personal opinion, I don't see Zelda getting any more exciting or new than this.

The game looked great, but it's missing a story element. We need a tiny smidge of a hint as to what's going on. Maybe that new character is the spirit of the Skyward Sword. After all,
Midna
was the Twilight Princess.

Yeah. Portal had a gimmick, it was just an incredibly good one. Likewise, M+ swordplay could turn out to be a great, middling or downright naff gimmick. We don't know so far, but people accusing the game of being 'SLASH HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL TO SOLVE PUZZLE AND KILL DUDES, END OF GAME' haven't exactly been silenced yet.

It'll probably still have tighter level design than most games this year.

I'm not, those guys have returned Mario to the days before OoT, when Zelda was great but Mario was a fucking god. Tokyo outclasses Kyoto at everything else, why wouldn't they be able to do graphics better as well
 
Kinda miffed that they're not even bothering to put out good trailers for this game, but on the other hand it's only a trailer so eeeh.

And I thought the world's ugliest HUD was for demo purposes only? Why put it in the trailer? Please tell me it doesn't look like that in the real game.

I'm surprised so many people love SS's artstyle. I find it ugly and uninspired from both a technical and creative standpoint.

OoT 3D is a lot more colorful and fun. SS just looks so faded and dull. Though, I loved the environments and enemies in the new trailer. I hope the colorscheme becomes a little more saturated in the final version.

I'm thinking they'll release it holiday this year. And something to do with the 25th Anniversary of Zelda in the summer (maybe with OoT 3D).

That or they're planning something big with SS. Like a 25th anniversary edition with a lot of cool stuff.

yeah, definitely a letdown. the focus on the motion plus stuff is puzzling at this point. we get it, you can swing your sword in any possible direction. now show us something else. it certainly wasn't an exciting trailer and that's what trailers are all about: hyping up your product. the music was boring, the visual style half-baked and the game just kind of ugly overall. what else is NEW in this zelda, what's really groundbreaking, what has never been there before, how is this world different and interesting now, what's exciting about it? i really can't tell from this trailer. at all.

"Video quality"? You're watching a low quality youtube video, of curse the video quality will be bad. The pastel color pallet is perfect, and the game look beautiful.
I can get complaints about the gameplay (though I think the new controls can make for some very interesting stuff), but I don't get people hating on the graphics at all.

The enemy and design ans scenery also looks awesome.

We've been on a complete media blackout since E3 and when we finally get something new, it's just more of the same "watch Link move his sword around" stuff. Naturally people are going to be frustrated.
 
I think the color scheme definitely needs some changes, but I was mainly thinking the graphics are improved from the first time around in that everything seems much smoother/cleaner and it doesn't look like TP with a cel shaded mod anymore.

It kind of reminds me of WW (which I loved). I'm really looking forward to this game, but for some reason I wasn't very impressed with the video. I'm sure more will be shown at E3.

I think it did pretty much the same thing as the SS trailer. Showed gameplay and locales.

Only difference is most of the stuff in that trailer wasn't even in the final game.

Now the truly AMAZING Twilight Princess trailer was THIS

It's still not doing anything for me. I loved TP and I loved the first piece of concept art we saw for this game, but it's been downhill since. Need to see a better quality trailer...
