Milk is fucking disgusting.

That would be pretty sweet, aside from the obvious compatibility problems :lolraYne said:What they should do is have an action sequence overlayed with one of your existing saved films (if applicable). Seeing "yourself" as Chief handling business from the ODST's perspective would be great.
That may not be the case -- according to someone's trailer analysis, that 'late' drop pod may not be the last, but the first:GodfatherX said:that was kinda my point with my previous post, why would a single ODST drop later then the rest?
Not really. It obviously couldn't be done during gameplay, but in cutscene form with the same section of the city (or whatever other shared environment) could be done without much trouble.Botolf said:That would be pretty sweet, aside from the obvious compatibility problems :lol
Oh, I thought you meant a process that involved somehow grabbing data from Halo 2 :lolraYne said:Not really. It obviously couldn't be done during gameplay, but in cutscene form with the same section of the city (or whatever other shared environment) could be done without much trouble.
Yeah, I'm not that crazy. :lolBotolf said:Oh, I thought you meant a process that involved somehow grabbing data from Halo 2 :lol
In one of the Halo books, master chief is talking to Linda (one of the other spartans) and he accidentally refers to her as Maddie, it has absolutely nothing to do with the missing child.

how stupid for yet another halo...
kill this franchise already
the "fight was finished" lets have some new ip's for fecks sake

Following her return to Earth, Linda, as well as Fred and Will, were called upon to perform a number of operations during the Second Battle of Earth up until November 3rd, 2552. These operations included numerous operations in orbit around Earth, such as stopping a Covenant invasion on Mount Erebus in Antarctica with a HAVOK tactical nuke, and destroying Covenant forces on the sea floor off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

Now I'm pretty rusty on the Halo lore, but the books are considered canon, even though they never reference them in the games for the most part (like the other surviving spartans, etc), right? Well we've got this image:
Now Jtyettis posted this:
I don't specifically recall that, but if this was true, is it possible they could use this as a way to introduce Linda/Maddie, or some of the other surviving spartans, possibly leading ODST squads or something? The timeline technically fits; the New Mombasa attack happened on October 20th, 2552. According to Halopedia:
Probably reading too much into it, but kinda interesting.

Wow, I never knew that existed. Was this the only cut scene included with the map pack?CrazedArabMan said:man after watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzB5BEodHI4 I am so hoping it is an ODST shooter, oh that would be so amazing.

Any other company would've released a name, release date, gameplay details or even videos, etc. But a teaser? And before anyone idiot tries to go "B-b-but what did you expect from a teaser?" nobody from Bungie ever said that what we were getting this morning was supposed to be only a teaser.

It better be effing good.
Yes, it was a bonus video on the Halo 2 retail map pack. Bungie used it as an exercise to iterate on their cinematics pipeline when Halo 3 was in early pre-production.Doodis said:Wow, I never knew that existed. Was this the only cut scene included with the map pack?
SPARTAN-104, SPARTAN-058, and SPARTAN-043 were defending Earth during the span of two weeks shortly after In Amber Clad disappeared pursuing the Prophet of Regret. The SPARTANs were conducting surgical strikes against Covenant Forces in the Antarctic, Mexico, and Cuba. On November 3, 2552, shortly after completing an operation in which involved using the Centennial Orbital Elevator in Havana, Cuba to stop deploying Covenant forces in the area, Blue Team was re-directed to aid Dr. Catherine Halsey on Onyx. Blue Team captures the Bloodied Spirit and heads straight for Onyx.

Well, not so much and event, I might be recalling wrong, but I remember the quote being that the announcement deserved its own event (not saying it got one).BakedPigeon said:what event?
What is this brainwashing cult, Scientology?clashfan said:I see you are not part of the faithful. This teaser is suppose to test the faith of Bungie and MS fans. Only the faithful will be rewarded in the end. Be fair warn...
BakedPigeon said:GTFO if you are not interested in halo. Do you really think Bungie has been developing nothing except a halo 3 campaign expansion? Maybe it is part of their split agreement with MS to finish the expansion. I'm pretty sure Bungie is working on new IP's they just have not announced anything detail wise. And the Halo franchise has not been overdone, to compare whate are we on now number 3? What about final fantasy 13, resident even 5, or some other top game series.
Well it's not even "a new game that we... don't know even know what stage it's at", it's just SP expansion.permutated said:Yeah, it's pretty pathetic. I thought the industry was past this stage of hyping about hype about a CGI teaser about a game that we...don't even know what stage it's at.
It's just fucking tiring, this hype machine is out of control.
really? then move on.Cerrius said:Definitely.
Halo 3 is an ugly game. Especially when compared to something like Call of Duty 4's smooth 60 FPS.

Seriously, the fact that you can pause, rotate, rewind, and manipulate the HDR with ease is a monumental feat. The technology behind all that is incredible and the lighting engine alone is second to none. The poor IQ can certainly be played given the amount of aliasing but come on, low polycount? That's silly.
