"I only recently learned of this. Anyone who knows Andrew knows he would never do anything violent. This was clearly a cry for attention that came from a very dark and lonely place inside of Andrew. I agree but the way i did read this guy (even if i didn't all his posts) was that he wanted to bring up the possibility the girl or other external people would have put up a prank on him (ok very stupid one if it was the case). He has been non-stop posting after that but i though is point was that it's a possibility that needed to bve checked on and believe me, the police will check on the girl and also the guy or whatever the person reporting the thing. During an investigation you simply don't start with the assumption that "it's the guy" or "it's the girl", especially when it's an Email that started all the stuff.

has nothing to do with discrimination.

5. LIFE EXPECTANCY: Men's life expectancy is seven (7) years shorter than women's [National Center for Health Statistics -- males 72.3 yrs vs females 79 yrs] yet receive only 35% of government expenditures for health care and medical costs.

no one has ever claimed that men or women have been turned away based on sex. pregnancy related procedures account for the vast majority of that difference as i'm sure you know, and in almost every case the fathers want to see those carried out too. so not discrimination.

6. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION: Men are discriminated against BY DESIGN through affirmative action.

i agree with this. but that isn't discrimination against men by women, but men by men.

you can't blame women for men not voting... that's just crazy.

nice up to date statistics there... and that statistic has nothing to do with whether or not some men sue when they are assualted. 'sue the taxpayer'? lol.

again. this is meaningless. i could just as easily say that this proves that men are more careless at work.

also true, more men are murderers than women. that doesn't prove anything about discrimination either.

12. JURY BIAS: Women are acquitted of spousal murder at a rate 9 times that of men [Bureau Justice Statistics -- 1.4% of men vs 12.9% of women]

juries are made up of only women?

13. COURT BIAS: Men are sentenced 2.8 times longer than women for spousal murder [Bureau Justice Statistics -- men at 17 years vs women at 6 years]

yay! but wait, wasn't it the court system's standards that got you started in the first place?

14. JUSTICE SYSTEM BIAS: Even though the amount of the average "child support payment" due from women is half the amount due from men, and even though women are twice as likely as men to default on those payments, fathers are 97% of "child support" collections prosecutions [Census Bureau]

you can't mix averages and totals. again, incomplete statistics. we'd need to know what percentage of child support payments were paid by men and which by women to make a statement on this as evidence of discrimination.

15. WELFARE: Even though men are the recipients of less than 10% of all welfare disbursements, men are required to refund welfare payments made to women.

i don't understand this one, so i can't comment on it.

16. SECONDARY EDUCATION: Even though zero percent of American 12th grade girls were able to correctly answer basic math and physics questions, less than one quarter of America's secondary and elementary school teachers are men.

you read this before posting it right? right? presuming that ridiculous stat is true, it has no bearings on the percentage of women/men who pursue teaching carreers, and the percentage of women/men who graduate, or indeed, the average intelligence of the small fraction of people who were once 12th grade girls who are now female teachers.

17. HIGHER EDUCATION: There are more than 200 all-female colleges for women and now not one single all-male college for men. 5.8% fewer men than women are enrolled in 4 year colleges, even though two thirds of those who score higher than 550 in SAT Math are males. In 1993 only 44.5% of college enrollment were men, and that figure has declined since then. Only 45.8% of of bachelor's degrees were conferred to men in 1992, even though 98.2% of the top fiftieth percentile of the GRE are men, and ZERO PERCENT of American high school girls correctly answered 28 out of 67 TIMSS advanced math questions. Only 38.4% of private 4 year college students were men as of 1990, and this figure has declined since then.

again, without statistics for the percentage of applicants, this is all meaningless.

18. LEGAL SYSTEM BIAS: 96% of physical altercations resulting in injury to a spouse occurs AFTER the date of separation. [Read: spousal abuse laws that pretend that husbands are dangerous discriminate against husbands when we know that only a very small percent of domestic violence is associated with them]. [Chadwick and Heaton, "Statistical Handbook of the American Family"]

wait a minute, this statistic is for all physical altercations and not female ones unless i'm reading it wrong. even if it isn't, again, there is no evidence in the first part to back up the second.

19. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Even though study after study shows that women are the majority of the initiators of domestic violence, and 58% of the above mentioned physical altercations are initiated by the female, Congress passed the obviously anti-male VAWA and VAWA II.which are known would make the problem far worse. [Read: despite the fact we discriminate against husbands in protective orders, women still cause more than half of domestic altercations because they know they can get away with it].

another part i don't understand. study after study also finds that there are more battered house wives than battered husbands.

20. CHILD VIOLENCE: Even though mothers commit 55% of child murders and biological fathers commit 6%, even though NIS-3 shows that Mother-only households are 3 times more fatal to children than Father-only households, children are systematically removed from the natural fathers who are their most effective protectors and men are imprisoned at rate 20 times that of women.

this is an incomplete picture that only looks at murder, and doesn't look at child violence as a whole.

21. FAMILY BREAKDOWN: The US Surgeon General notes that divorce is more harmful to a man's health than smoking tobacco, yet as much as $1.3 Trillion of federal expenditures accomplish little else than undermine family stability.

unsourced crazy statistics are fun. the government spends 1.3 trillion dollars undermining family stability!

22. WOMEN PILOTS: Even though women pilots have an accident rate four times that of men pilots, federal laws require that airlines risk the safety of passengers and hire women pilots anyway.

saying that because women pilots have a higher accident rate, that there for no women should be hired as pilots would be like saying that because the average black person is better at basketball that no white person should be hired to play basketball (or the opposite for baseball). ie it would be crazy.

23. WOMEN DRIVERS: Even though the crash rate of women drivers is twice that of men drivers, and even though drinking alcohol increases the crash rate of men by only 5%, the majority of those imprisoned under DUI laws are men, and women are almost never imprisoned for their much higher number of non-alcohol-related crashes.

this comparison makes no sense. none at all. it compares the incarceration rates of med driving under the influence against (something which is illegal in and of itself) with the incarceration rates of accidents where women were driving and not under the influence. is it perhaps that more men drive under the influence than women do? are you suggesting that DUI laws are designed to keep men down?

24. INCARCERATION: Even though feminists brag that 1.4 million American brides commit adultery, and even though women file more than 90,000 false allegations of rape, every year, only 99,000 of the 1.8 million Americans behind bars are women.

be very careful with these kind of accusations. more men commit crime than women. that is a fact. adultery has nothing to do with going to jail whether it is commited by a man or a woman.

15, 20, 30 years ago - women were being HEAVILY discriminated against. They still are. And that site seems to think men should be paid MORE than women. A woman who does the same work as a man, should be paid the same as a man. Period.

Times are changing and some stuff will need to be looked at again in the future. I believe fathers are more domesticated than judicial systems give credit for these days. Fathers' rights need improving. The way custody cases are conducted should be looked at. Child support contributions should be weighted on agreed responsibilities and evidence - it should be reasonable/feasable for each party -- it shouldn't be a bitter process of gouging money, but it seems that way. You have to realise though, if the mother has dominant custody, she's gonna need more money for the welfare of the child, feeding/clothing/sending it to school...

Women should not get softer sentences than men either. Not for serious crimes. And particularly allegations of rape. That I can wholeheartedly agree with...

Women shouldn't have to worry about being raped and their rapists walking away scot free, they shouldn't have to worry that the world of men will automatically assume its a false allegation. Because legitimate rape happens every day, and it should be punished to the full extent of the law. Still, the talk of lowering the burden of proof in rape cases is perhaps a dangerous development while we know false allegations like those can happen. I don't know how it is in the US and elsewhere, but I feel that our binge drinking and drugs cultures can be a contributory factor to the false allegations that occur over here.

In any case Deeper_Kyo, that site has an obvious agenda.
