Jesus, this is the sort of thing your average Joe reads here in the UK though, so this could have an effect on opinion but oh well...

The Sun

1. It'll be out-dated within a year

2. Vita masquerading as the GamePad

3. The threat to all consoles - mobile gaming

4. DS + Wii = fail?

5. It's dramatically over-priced

Really now.

Also;

The Sun.

They're right about #1 and #5, although for #5 it's not dramatically OP but about 50-75 bucks. Overall, a pretty bad article from a pretty bad source.

They are spot on. This is exactly why the WiiU is Nintendo's last console! Third party confirmed!

The Sun decide our elections and now they're going to decide the console wars too.

I loved this bit at the bottom:

And the chance to play lovingly crafted titles like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Pikmin 3, and Rayman Legends will have hardcore gamers queuing up on launch day.
Oops.

If you've got a PS3 then, frankly, you're better off buying a Vita than a Wii U. Title-wise, gaming-wise and quality-wise, it's a one-sided match-up.

Lol.

They're right about the price and being outdated but WHO CARES THEY HAVE BAYONETTA 2 HNNNNNNNNNNNNGH

Oh and "The Sun". Tabloids. :lol

So, basically we now have it confirmed that a bunch of Sony fanboys work at The Sun?
This and the 3DS articles are pretty compelling. As is the idea anyone who reads The Sun knows what the fuck a Vita is :D

Outdated, probably no. Unless PS4 and X720 end up both using using another architecture than Power 7. If it is the case, we can fear for our ports. Otherwise, even with a 3x power gap, there must be a possibility to port any game that uses standard input across all consoles.

Price ? I would say, the WiiU is pricy.

But it was Nintendo who would've felt the heat most, as Sony looked to take out the Wii U before it even launches by revealing that the Vita can operate as a controller for the PS3, demonstrated to brilliant effect with Little Big Planet 2.
In a single swoop, Sony had removed the Wii U's USP, and offered a better demonstration than anything Wii U we've seen anywhere.
It really leaves Nintendo in a bit of a pickle - as a portion of its potential Wii U market will have evaporated. Why buy a weaker console to do the same thing, but not as well, when you have all the ingredients already?
Similarly, it makes the Vita rival for the Wii U. At this stage, a stronger one.

I wonder if The Sun editors know their basically hiring someone to write for a very limited readerbase with these angles?

#1 might be true, there is no real way to know 100% for now.

#5 is true, but so is every device launch.
