There's still like 500 posts to go in the over thread. Will just copy my post over.

'Worst performance of the season from Liverpool, for me. Only one player played to the expected standard and that was Skrtel. Just shows again how toothless Liverpool can be without Coutinho.

Alberto needs to start ahead of Moses. '

Man Utd v Southamton is going to be quality. Man Utd cannot afford to lose more ground in the leave so I can see them going for the kill. Southamton are no slouches so should play on the counter

Team v Cardiff: Cech; Ivanovic, D Luiz, Terry (c), Bertrand; Ramires, Lampard; Willian, Mata, Hazard; Eto’o. #CFC

Substitutes v Cardiff: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Essien, Oscar, De Bruyne, Torres. #CFC

Come on you blues!

Well shit. At least we took a point away from home, not too bad eh?

We'll just have to bounce back at home next week against... oh.

Well that's ok, we've got an away fixture the week after at... oh.

Expect we'll be third at the end of the gameweek. The worst we could drop to is 4,th ,but then that would require a real United fuckup, so it's win win in the end.

Our season is going to fall apart when the hard fixtures start. Still yet to put in a good second half performance in the league. Mbiwa handed us 3 points, and we fumbled the 2 of the fuckers with yet more shite set piece defending. Should have put more pressure on Krul as well.

That is not a good away point imo

No, I don't think it will fall apart.

But 3-5-2 is not the way forward against teams like Newcastle.

They were 10 men for half a game, still a bit poor even though it was away.

Mancini tried it, it was never the way forward against anyone for City at least. You need two fantastic wing backs for it. He even bought Maicon just for it.

How is it supposed to work anyway? One DM, one CM and one AM? Heavily possession, or counter-attacking?

Well chuffed with the Newcastle result.

My head hurts.

We construct just a few lightning quick passes per game. We can't pass it for the life of us for the rest of the game.

This weekend's topics has shown me my (previous) opinions/attempts at discussions are disregarded. They send you their regards.

Why does Liverpool do this to me.

I think it doesn't rely on possession, our midfield seems to be completely bypassed by it, I didn't even notice Henderson until about the 70th minute. I think we aren't in control of our games either.

I think two CMs and one AM is the way Rodgers likes to play it, but Moses as the AM doesnt really work, there was a reason he started playing a lot better when he moved out wide a bit.

Some people judge results by their expectations pre-game, others judge them by the events of the match. I fall into the latter camp :p

Speaking of tactics, I only watched it here and there. What was Moses actual position in the formation?

nvm answered above

For us:

Wingback------Vidal------ Marchisio/Pogba -------Wingback
-------------Pirlo (deep-lying playmaker)---------------------------

For Mazzarri:

Wingback---AM---Wingback
--------------DM---DM---------------

It's not effective against teams parking the bus.

How about you go an score Bayern? Don't go fucking up my bet. Dortmund doing the business right now.

I felt Southampton might draw today but with Lambert out that is an uphill battle.

Cissokho was so fucking bad...

I want a Shaw, Digne, or Neil Taylor type left back. Even Gibbs. Someone who busts his balls getting getting forward and back, uses the width of the pitch, and has a trick in him. Cissokho made a really great challenge here and there, but overall gave us nearly nothing. His low crosses, which I normally really like as a tactic, were so soft and slow they'd never even get passed his back.

3-5-2's strongest point is the danger you get from having two fullbacks that relentlessly attack since you have the security of three CBs.

I do think if we replace Moses with Alberto (Coutinho should be back next week but will probably not start coming off an injury), Suarez and Sturridge will get the ball in better positions more often.

Fuck it, copy-paste

Cissokho instantly strikes me as a player whose control is not good enough for him to make consistent use of his athleticism. If it takes him 2 seconds to get the ball under control and in a position where he can build up some speed, it'll be easily dealt with by any semi-competent winger/fullback.

Hopefully its rustiness from the injury, time will tell
