Recommend Desktop Dungeons, the full version is great but the alpha is free and can give you an idea of whether you'd like it or not. If you're after a rogue-like and not a rougelike there's no shortage of options (vast majority of which are free). Best on Steam is Tales of Maj'Eyal, but you can also just get the free version from their website. Other good ones that aren't on Steam are Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and Brogue.

Desktop Dungeons! A buddy of mine suggested the game to me during the sale but I had forgotten about it, i'll likely check it out later this week. Hopefully they put out the 'planned' linux port soon (like Paranautical Activity!).

I've played endless hours of DCSS and enjoyed it a ton, i'll look into Brogue.

Thanks!

Whew, mini-crisis averted. Things are back to normal now regarding my game, the Oil Blue.

Anyways, take a free CSD key!

With RE4HD coming just around the corner, I wonder if Capcom has any intention of going back and taking out GFWL from RE5 or if theyre just going to repackage it and sell us a non-GFWL version with the DLC added and call it a day.

It would be nice, but too aware of market desires for capcom to pull off.

How about both? Like a Bioshock 2 type situation. Current owners get a GFWL-less game and the DLC, and the game gets re-upped to the store (with DLC separate)?

Less likely in RE5's case, since it has no DLC for PC, but I can dream.

Just read this on reddit... The developer of the early access game Towns has basically decided to give up on the game. By all accounts the game is still unfinished despite the fact that the early access tag is gone.

This is pretty much the worst case scenario with the early access program.

So, during the previous steam dev days thread there was a tweet how Valve are experimenting with analog input and this made a couple of people sad, because it sounded like they might ditch the touchpads. Having just watched the presentation it's analog triggers they're experimenting with. Just wanted to point it out.

Weren't there a lot of complaints about this game originally? Isn't this one that launched before Early Access, was clearly an unfinished build, but was sold as though it were complete?

edit: I'm not finding any information that Towns was ever early access. Pretty sure this was just a shady release since the beginning.

Not as buggy as Battlefield 4, so all is not too bad. Someone could argue that games dont released finished anyways, so why did you expect more from an Early Access title?

Use your own discretion, I'm not advertising the site.

You're basically recommending it when it's objectively a worse option than dealing with traders, which is already murky waters. I'm just letting people who aren't as knowledgeable about this stuff know that they should avoid. By the looks of things it IS just a site that traders set up, but it's more expensive than dealing with reputable traders directly and I wasn't able to see if you could even check the Steamrep and such of the sellers (there was a link on the site for that but it gave a database error). Highly recommend that people avoid it. If you're not interested in doing anything like looking for a trader yourself, Stronghammer22 in the B/S/T thread is already selling it for $22 so...

It's the sister site of a steam group that several regular posters in this thread (like JaseC) are a part of. I assumed it was legit, but if it isn't I apologize.

Not saying that it's not legit, but again it appears to simply be a Wordpress website that traders set up for selling stuff. And the stuff is more expensive than you would get from dealing with traders directly. It's for suckers, basically.

Yea I don't remember if it was Early Access or not but I remember people saying the game was unfinished during the Steam sale.

the damn turd was never released on early access. He never even mentioned to anyone that the game is nothing more than a buggy prototype.

Yea this is that game.

Expecting an early access title to be finished before getting abandoned by the developer seems reasonable.

edit - okay I don't remember about the early access part either. Just repeating what I picked up. The developer himself says it's finished though, so that's that.

he's pretty methodical, he's like a mmo boss, just gotta learn his pattern and he repeats it over and over.

cutting down his shitty rocks give you nano gel too.

Yeah, but miss one and - death.
The difficulty ramp up here is pretty extreme. I'm low on gel too.

I'm never going to finish Metal Gear Rising.

That last boss....ugh.

It doesn't tell you this but you don't need to line up all four boxes (or even any technically) to cut the rocks. It's pretty generous and as long as you're generally in the area, you can cut it.
