> Arkham Origins DLC cancelled for Wii U

> Arkham Knight skips Wii U

Well, I guess that's all that needs to be said about how Warner Bros. views releasing core, non-LEGO games on Nintendo's system.

Nevertheless, the game looks absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to buy it on PC later this year.

To be fair its not coming out for 360/ps3 either, and Wii U's hardware just can't compete with xb1's.

However, even if there were a 360/ps3 version I doubt there would be a Wii U version either. I can't blame WB and I'm surprised that they supported the Wii U as long as they did.

Wonder why Scarecrow wants everyone to leave the city....don't the villains always want to hurt the civies?

My guess, the villains want to dig up and find a giant lazarus pit hidden under Gotham. The best way to beat the Bat is to outlive him and everyone else. Once near immortality is gained the plans hatched can be even more vicious.

TMNT would be great - especially if the other turtles followed you around leaping from roof top to roof top.

Rockasteady is owned by WB/DC. Ninja Turtles is not one of their ips. you guys are wasting times if you think WB will put their biggest studio on a property they don't own.

yeah, it's just the Arkham part that doesnt make sense anymore

I mean, Arkham is just the name of the Asylum. I guess it made a bit more sense in City since it was basically a section of gotham city that turned into an open asylum but it just stuck as the franchise name and they just HAVE to call it that I guess. In Origins it didnt make sense either.

It's a pet peeve. Gotham Knight would have been 100x better and would even make me a bit more hopeful that they were mixing things up enough as to call it something else, but yeah, it's a franchise now. (and gotham knight is the name of those short animated films anyway)
Name brand recognition is my guess.

But that's odd because if this is next gen only and a refresh, why would Arkham be used for name branding? Batman is all you need!

This could be called "Batman: this ain't Ben Affleck" as the title and it'll still sell! :p

J/K, only because the Bruce Wayne in this trailer looked like Josh Brolin!

I played AA and Ac, is Origin any good? I really liked AA.

I liked origins, but I had a relatively bug free experience on PC. My friend's ps3 version had noticeable frame drops. The story is best of the three, and so are the boss fights. There isn't anything super new in AO, but there isn't any noticeable recycled content.

If you don't have a pc, you may be best off waiting for the rumored Arkham collection for ps4/xb1.

My bets on Rocksteady's next project is Superman, followed by Suicide Squad (this may already be in dev by montreal or another studio), and possibly Green Arrow (playing off the tv shows success).

Really tired of these CG trailers, I'm not even going to watch this one. Hyped for the game though.

Nice trailer, but I don't like the look of Harley, preferred her in Asylum

Also nothing about actual gameplay, but I'm assuming it'll be the familiar batman brawling. Curious how they handle the driving though.

Totally ignoring that point? Wii U has possibly potential in Nintendo paving its own way or exclusives, but the potential on ports from Xbox One and PS4 is not there. Having the difference in hardware in mind and still asking for it is quite desperate and pathetic IMO.

We haven't seen any of the game to say that it can handle a downscaled Arkham Knight. If it isn't releasing on 360 and PS3, than likely it won't be able to.

I'm operating under the assumption that a port of Arkham Knight to Wii U is technically possible, like Arkham City and Arkham Origins before it. If it's not, then all of these points are moot.

I'm saying that if they don't make an exception for Wii U, they're shunning Wii U, artificially placing it into the "last-gen" category (despite it only being 1 1/2 years old), and they don't think it's worthy enough for a downscaled port.

That's self-evident.

Here is the argument:

I'm sure that if Wii U was exploding in popularity right now, they'd have the ability and desire to make a Wii U port happen (and forego the PS3 / 360), since they've already made Arkham City and Arkham Origins happen. That's why I consider Warner Bros.'s actions an indictment against the Wii U in particular...because they're ignoring a new console they've previously supported.

Cool trailer, but it's going to have to do something good (Batmobile isn't enough) to make me want to play it. The series is starting to get a little Assassins Creedy for me.

That would mean crowded cities, which makes the game less of a playground. Also there's the performance hit. So they need to come up with some narrative excuse to send em all out! Same as inFAMOUS! :D

At least that's my theory for now

Aw yea, Batman(and probably everyone) is still addicted to roids.

The batmobile looks cool and all, but I'm gonna need some serious changes in the formula after Origins.

Interesting that this isn't a cross-gen title, they might end up losing money on this if Xbox One sales don't pick up. :Oo

It will be interesting to see how the map and city is in this game. Since Arkham Origins gave you access to the whole city, it seems like they would have to retcon the lay out of the city and buildings to accommodate the player being able to drive the bat mobile around.

Hope this is Unreal 4. Unreal 3 games are good but I wanna see the new engine in action.

Unfortunately I believe this is gonna be one of those "modified U3" things. Expect to see quite a few next gen.

no clue where people say he's streamlined leaner now...

he seems about as bulky as AO, maybe even a bit more so in the ingame shot.

Because in the CG trailer and in the Cover and promo material shown so far he looks like he's leaner. But I guess not, because he looks just as stupidly bulky in that game asset image.

I don't understand why Rocksteady will insist on using the same style...

I would describe Origin as a medicore retread of City but with a decent amount of technical problems.

I liked origins, but I had a relatively bug free experience on PC. My friend's ps3 version had noticeable frame drops. The story is best of the three, and so are the boss fights. There isn't anything super new in AO, but there isn't any noticeable recycled content.

Thanks, i think i will pass on Origin then.

Just really hope they tone down the collectibles compared to Origins. I was fine with them in Asylum, especially because of the linearity. City I was less fine with, but there wasn't so many of them that I felt like they were overwhelming. Origins, there were just way too many of them.

My only question is why is this called Arkham, you would think they would drop it and simply make it Batman by now.

There's a pretty well defined shot in the trailer where he looks that way. Trailer, of course, is CGI and doesn't represent ANYTHING of what we'll see in the game.

I really doubt it at least not a complete or big change. I think they'll play very save and keep the core experience similar to what people used to in the Arkham series with maybe bigger map and few new things. this is the finale after all so they may save their new ideas for the next series they'll work on.
