im down for ps4 but lets be honest its not backwards compatible and the launch titles were fucking weak. no reason to own one at this moment. that will change when xrd, next bb, and kingdom hearts 3 drop. only a bird would buy that shit at launch for fucking "knack"

If Deckard Cain got banned in the Dark Souls thread, it was for thread shitting, which people should already be cautious about because every other gaming thread has been about resolution for the past few months. That, and him using a super ignorant, fallacious and overused "graficks dun matter, all gameplae" argument is just asking to get banned.
Posts like that are the reason he won't try it.

Anyway, there are lots of really good matches that take place in pools at larger tournaments so I have no problem with pool play being streamed as long as there's a good number of decent matches to show. He kinda does. Sometimes doesn't show mercy in the right places and sometimes not, according to opinion of course, everyone has their own levels to follow. Also, he gave the most embarrasing custom title to someone, it was about the whole loli debacle in some japanese game about 5000 year old demons acting like little schoolgirls. Some poster was playing devil's advocate and said there are people who look like kids and mentioned andy milonakis and how weird/interesting it would be to have sex with him. After that Gramr closed the thread due to too much arguing and changed the poor saps title to "It would be interesting to have sex with Andy Milonakis" or something like that. I was dead on the floor when I read his post.
People's fascination with Deckard is interesting to say the least. Reminds me of Stockholm's or Battered Wife Syndrome.

Cuz GAF hypes it up to the be the greatest thing ever. and it could be, but I'm just so tired of hearing about it I have no desire to play it. I have the game installed but it just sits there.
I'll probably check it out in a few months. By then it'll be E3 season, fake megatons will be unleashed and I won't have to hear every day about how Dark Souls is so good you'll want to throw your games away since nothing could ever compare.

I hate mine but only cuz I've had it for like 7 years.
There's this group of games I have in my head, games like Chrono Trigger, FF4/6, Super Metroid, etc, that I thought would never be approached in awesomeness because of the nostalgia factor that I have from playing those games when I was a kid and not old enough to be a jaded dickhead, but Dark Souls is definitely on that same pedestal to me. It really was hard to play other games for a while after I played Dark Souls because everything really did suck ass in comparison.

I like Viper as a character (both in playstyle and designed) but not in a SF game. In Marvel or KOF sure but in SF she seems a bit out of place. I guess that can be appealing to some.
I was taught by the guy who inducted and introduced me to GAF that tags were things to fear. People usually get them because they say something incredibly dumb, I remember the days where people would get tag quoted and promptly dismissed because their tag was something like "I am full of shit" or "My ideas are bad". Get that shit away from me thank you.
I got banned for "Please do not make threads about porn pics that blatantly help direct people to finding them, without even having a discussion point in the OP" for a thread about Christina Millian nudes being out there, because jack shit didn't happen to other people made similar threads.
In the next week, and over the following months, people did the exact same thing, DIRECTLY LINKED TO THE PICTURES, simply had links in OP and no other text, nothing happened to those threads or posters. This is why I'm super critical of modding on GAF, even though I prefer the uber strictness to other forums.
As a rule of thumb, if you think it might be questionable, just don't bother. And stay away from bait threads.
Seems like it's wholly dependent on what mod is watching at that moment, modding has definitely been inconsistent. It usually takes a big pile on of quotes to get someone banned, which ruins threads, but I wouldn't want a report feature either. Tough egg to crack, this one.
Enzo knows whats up. I couldn't sign up for GAF years ago cause I didn't have any emails that worked until I got into college and learned about CBOAT, then I had to sign up to join the hype, so I just lurked and this happened frequently.

Another dumb thing is it's against the ToS or something to make threads questioning moderating or something. Threads about that get locked, there isn't even a sanctioned thread for that type of discussion or anything.
EDIT: I also can't find the thread I was banned for in GAF search or google for some reason.

Yeah I don't like MvC3 Viper at all. Not only do I dislike her model, but I don't like how she translates gameplay-wise.
SF4 Viper is one of the most interesting characters I've seen in a 2D fighter, and part of that has to do with what game she's in. I have my doubts her design was all intentional, tough.

I don't think mods are actually paid so it's probably best that way.
The more strict you are about the things people do things for free = more stress = higher turnover = a bigger and bigger clusterfuck. You just concentrate on "hiring" the right kinds of people you think would best fit your vision and let them do their thing with a general outline.

Viper's special effects are more suitable in MvC3. If you look at a screenshot, all special effects in MvC3 look hella cheesy, but they work in motion.
I've always found the smoke effects in SF4 to look super out of place in general.
What makes Viper an interesting character in SF4? I really don't think she's suited for the game at all. After MvC3, I have trouble caring for gameplay style in SF4.
I feel the same way about Xrd, but I know it's going to get a huge hype train.
I just hope people don't forget about Persona.
I think they're doing pretty good nowadays in gaming. I think Derrick got perma'd, so they're taking a pretty serious stance on thread shitting, which is good.
The CBoaT/discussion about how to deal with leakers right now is pretty interesting IMO, seems like they're toughening up on industry insiders too which is good considering how crazy that has been in the past year and a half too.

How similar are Ky from GG and Jin from BB? They seem to have similar types of moves, shoot icey stuff, and similar outfits. If I were to practice Ky, would the move to Jin in BB be a little easier?

I argue that's not enough. As a junior, when it matters most, you must be way more careful. My one ban was for making a joke about a very vague thread title announcing a release date for a small game no one has heard of for years that has the literal same name as a very hyped game, because it seemed like one of those trick thread titles people (including mods) like to make. I thought "that's funny, I'll just make a post having a chuckle at the thread title because I've seen this thread a hundred times before"! Nope. As a junior don't do anything intelligent or clever or try to fit in, simply generate enough vapid, safe posts to become a member.
"Mods" are inconsistent by design. A bunch of dudes use their own judgment, which is naturally going to be influenced by all sorts of things (like maybe it's a game they are excited about that you happen to be "shitposting" on), and it only gets checked if they go way too far (like a Dragona or w/e situation). The system isn't broken, so it is good enough. As a junior, you don't want to fall through the cracks.
Ugh, I'm way over my posting limit. To be quick: seismo cancel's implied pressure is very cool, turning the character into a projectile in a footsie-style fighter with TK BK, and the tiger knee exploits generally for starters. It's because she "doesn't fit" that makes me think she fits. She could fit better though. I'm too tired to go into more detail maybe I will tomorrow.

Yeah I get the feeling. I'm not super hyped myself but it looks fun, and I'll encourage people to play (or not play) what they like. Was just kinda bummed to see somebody who showed interest lose it, but oh well.
And I'll never forget Persona, I'd talk about it tons here but not a ton of interest I think. I am working on a couple projects with some other pretty great Persona guys though. I'll post stuff up here when it's ready. Game's great, down to play and get people ready for P4U2 if they're interested.

I would be OK with less pool play streamed as long as we get plenty of semifinals on stream for the big games. Top 32 marvel is generally really good at majors. For Evo that would probably be like top 128 or so.
