Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F |OT| BELEEK (PS3/Vita)

I've beaten every song on extreme (without items) except for Rin-chan Now, SDM and Negaposi*Continues. Rin-chan Now isn't too difficult but the other two might take a while.

I am having such problems with extreme it's not even funny. I always fall just short of standard.

I couldn't even do Ashes to Ashes a couple days ago. It took a bit of practice to get used to the fast repeating notes.

Also I went back to hard and it just seems so.. easy now. I think I'm gonna work on perfecting every song on normal/hard now.

I can't even pass Himitsu Keisatsu, but I keep trying. Sob. So many tears.

It's been said before, but for some it helps to alternate between the d-pad and the buttons for note input - e.g. for the first technical zone where it goes Circle, Circle, Circle, Circle, X, X, X, X, etc, you can play it by pressing Circle, Right, Circle, Right, X, Down, X, Down.

Yeah, I know that works. I try to do it, but then my brain goes 'NOPE'. I don't know why I can't split my focus. I just keep trying.

It really is just something you have to get accustomed to. I had some issues at first alternating when I first learned I could use the d-pad, but it took me a couple of attempts of some songs before I really got used to it. Just keep at it, and I'm sure you can do it!

Anyways, I had told myself I wasn't going to buy this on Vita since I already got it on PS3, but my impulse said otherwise. As such, I decided to rush my way to the songs I have the most fun with!

So that's 2 down and, like, 30 more to go!

Wait. Can this be done on the PS3 version? I've tried this before and it didn't seem to work unless there's a setting I need to turn on or off. Mind blown.

Oh, another score challenge coming up? Should be fun.

In the meantime, I'll keep on trying to perfect Sadistic Music Factory, 2 misses away from perfect ;_;

Yeah, that's how I got past most of the extreme songs.

Nega*Posi Continues is destroying me on Hard. I can't even begin to imagine it on Extreme ;_;

I cheated on that one with co op play. I never knew two people could play on two different controllers!

After trying to just CLEAR Kagamine Hachihachi Flower Fight on Extreme and not getting anything above a Lousy for two hours...

My thumbs and brain all hurt, and I'm full of frustration. Screw Extreme mode.
I don't need the crown THAT damn badly...

D-pad input has been in the series since Project DIVA 2nd on PSP. It can't actually be turned off, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't have worked.
THIS GAME HAS CO-OP!?!?

Why do devs even bother putting in a feature if they never mention it? >.<
It's not really intended as co-op; the game simply takes input from any attached controller as if it came from the same player. It makes things easier for those that have the specialized controllers that came out in Japan for the game.

Not really. It just registers inputs from all controllers instead of only one. That's not really co-op so much as not caring which controller assignment you are using.

Also you can't do arrow notes using face buttons from two separate controllers, I've already tried.

The European prices according to the site are now 29.99€/23.99£ for the base Vita game, so 37.98€/30.48£ with the Song DLC.
Seems alright.

They dropped the prices to something reasonable? Thank God. Still waiting on PSN to update to see for myself, I'm still torn between the US PS3 version or the EU Vita version, it'll probably come down to where currency conversion.

How is the framerate on Vita? Less songs = easier/faster Platinum?

Very little, if any framerate difference between the Vita and PS3 versions. Though it goes without saying, the Vita version has a much lower rendering resolution between the two.

Well I was hoping for £20 but this is still much better than £30 so i'm in.

Remember that they have to keep prices in the UK generally in-line with the price in Euros (disregarding any taxes, of course). A lot of companies still believe €1 = $1, and until that changes I couldn't see the price in the UK hitting £20. Capcom seems to "get it" with Ace Attorney 5's pricing, but I haven't seen many other examples beyond that.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised at the new price. I knew £30 wouldn't stand, and they'd backtrack on it before release, but I was expecting €30/£24.99.

At any rate, good news. I wasn't going to buy at £30, but at £24 I am definitely in.

Been playing this for about a week. Got about... three perfects, mostly not looking at getting them unless I know I can do it from my first two or so tries. I spent ages trying to get a perfect on Cat Food, and while I eventually did it, I swore I wouldn't put myself through that kind of punishment again. Satisfying as hell when it does happen, though.

But am I crazy for finding the higher bpm songs way easier than the slower ones? I usually manage to pretty consistently get Excellents on my first runs through fast songs, but something about the slower songs really fucks up my pace.

It's pretty common for players to be able to better maintain rhythm to faster paced songs, yes - the combination of faster songs having more pronounced percussion and the visual cues being faster usually result in better player performance. It's the reason many music games have options to increase the note display speed.

During the time it took this to go up in the EU store I blew my funds for it on importing God Eater 2 :/ guess I'll pick this one up a bit later on down the road.

Finally playing this! The framerate is solid, thanks guys.

I'm playing through Normal mode, I have the 'Survival' challenge item on, is that a good idea? I figure getting higher DP from the start will be better in the long run and the game isn't exactly tough so far.

Ended up buying this even if I don't have the money for it.

Sat down to play for a few minutes and couldn't put it down. I suck at it - I barely managed a Standard on Hard, and the best I've managed on anything is an Excellent on Normal. But I feel like I'll get better after time.

Melancholic is crack, I can't get that song out of my head.

Nothing wrong with using challenge items as long as you aren't consistently failing songs as a result (since the DP to use them are spent immediately upon beginning the song). If you can manage with it, the Perfectionist challenge item is worth the most DP.

Celebrating the (fashionably late) worldwide release on Vita, let's see who is the best of the best!

Play Tengaku on Hard difficulty, and PM me a screenshot of the score screen (on Vita, press the PS button and Start at the same time; on PS3, press the PS button, scoot over to the Photos tab on the left, and select Save Screenshot). The highest score that I receive by 3/23 at 5:00 PM EDT will be the champion! Do not use any Help items, though Challenge items are acceptable.

The prize: The top three will receive a promo code for one DLC of their choosing. Choose between the Extra Characters, Snow Miku 2013, or the Extra Songs for Vita!

(US/Canada only, unfortunately. If you already have the DLC or are unable to redeem it, you are still free to participate but please leave me a note that you cannot claim the prize so it can go to a runner up.)

Do the DLC codes work on PS3? I have a US copy on PS3, but i'm in europe.

Man, playing these songs on normal again is harder than Extreme nowadays.

The Extra Characters and Snow Miku 2013 DLCs work on both versions, but you'll have to have a US PSN account to redeem them. On PS3, as long as you're playing the US copy there's no issue with the DLC being attached to one account but playing on another. The Extra Songs is only for the Vita, which would require you to be playing the US download copy to make use of.
