Don't have the update as am not part of that group I guess.
Anyhow does everyone else always lose the pins and have to do a reset on their xbone?
I do this every other day .
That's an odd issue. Call/tweet/chat xbox support. That sounds like a really screwed up issue

Pretty much this. They got hyped over showing how much memory you have in your Xbone or even being able to check the battery life of your controller. It should be bloody standard .
Got hyped?

They shared change logs online so that consumers knew what updates were coming to their product and Major and his PR team shared some more info and showed a video of updates.

Are they not supposed to tell people about new updates? I find this idea of claiming they are "over hyping" someone just by telling people about it to be absurd.

Some people are so desperate to criticise and in this case paint Microsoft in a bad light for an upcoming firmware update that adds features that they will go to extreme lengths to do so. Not worth replying to, you only fuel their stupidity.

My NBA MyCareer save started crashing after this update. What gives? How can I report this bug? Official forums seem unorganized and no-one seems to actually be responding there.

I randomly have the disc issue.

But I also found the One isn't recognizing my PayPal account when I try to pay a remaining amount for an item.

There is one fundamental issue I want fixed. I want ingame chat to be disabled when I am in a skype call. Sometimes, I even get in a party while I'm in a Skype call, and I still can here people in game chat...

Was just playing on my vita with headphones on and the xbox switched itself on and started updating, spooky. Seems like there is a new build (xb_rel_1404.140319-2200)

Got a few things on patch notes on xbox forums.

PARTLY fixes the blu ray wake up issue but it's not entirely fixed it seems, so may still cause issues.

1404 build update starting to deploy tonight!

We have started to deploy the latest 1404 build (xb_rel_1404.140319-2200). Consoles that are in standby mode will be able to install the update starting at 6:00PM PDT on 3/21. Consoles that have not received the update in standby mode by 1:00AM PDT on 3/23 will be prompted to install the update when they connect to Xbox Live. This update will be larger than most (over 1GB). We expect that future updates for the 1404 update will be closer in size to previous updates (~600mb or smaller).

The following changes are contained within this build:

Issues Fixed

Several fixes and tweaks to the user interface.
Initial fixes to address audio crackling sound encountered when Dolby Digital is enabled (additional fixes are pending and will be deployed with a later build).
A fix to address issues where game resume could fail when a console comes out of standby, causing the game to restart rather than resume from its previous state.
Initial fixes for Blu-ray issues where the drive may not be responsive, requiring full system power down to resolve (pressing and holding the power button on the console for 5 seconds).

New Additions

Underlying OS changes required to enable planned 1404 features.
*NEW FEATURE* Silent system update installation: Initial OS changes are present that enable consoles to take a system update overnight when in standby, and the console will now complete the installation, then boot back into standby. This feature will bypass the green installation progress bar currently seen when starting a console that needs to finish installing an update started in standby. This feature will already work with some consoles in this update!

Known Issues

An issue has been identified in the current 1404 build (xb_rel_1404.140313-2200) where consoles with wired connections aren’t taking system, app, or game updates when in standby. Consoles connected via wireless are not affected. To test the silent update with a wired connection, you can work around this issue by connecting wirelessly when putting your console in standby overnight.
When performing the new silent system update, the following issues may be encountered:
The Blu-ray drive may spin up during silent startup.
The Kinect sensor may light up during silent boot.
During shutdown from standby to install the update, the power light will flash showing that it is shutting down.

Work is still being done to fix all Blu-ray drive issues that were introduced in 1404. There are still some instances where the Blu-ray drive may not wake up from an idle state, resulting in errors that a disc is not present. These issues should be resolved by ejecting and re-inserting the disc to wake up the drive.
When turning off your console with the “Xbox, turn off” command, Kinect does not respond to a command of “yes” or “no”, requiring the controller or remote be used to select “yes” to turn the console off.

A frequently asked question when previewing updates on Xbox One has been: is previewing updates on Xbox One covered under a Non-Disclosure Agreement?

Answer:

If you want to share your experiences, please do! You can talk about the changes you see, but please remember: when you see them, we’re not quite finished yet. If you love it, or if you hate it, we hope you’ll tell us—so that what you experience can change in the right ways before the general public gets it. Not everyone can preview the updates, but the changes you’ll see are not confidential and are not covered under an NDA.

well I put my console in standby line 15 minutes ago because I'm on a call for work and it just turned itself back on and is printing a bunch of weird debug info in the corner; did not see if it updated

e: nope, I am still on 1404.140313

weird

e2; figured it out; it is from the memory overlay option in developer settings. don't know how it got turned on or why it just showed up now after several reboots but disabling that fixed it

I have this issue too. Have to reset my xb1 every couple days as I lose access everything in instant on.

Are you updated to the latest preview build? I had this problem once a week until i got the 1404 update and haven't seen the spinning wheels since.

I hope that they fix the system ignoring headsets and somehow forcing kinect chat until you do a complete power cycle of the system, it seems like a random glitch which sticks until you do that.

Also last night on the non debug OS game DVR was refusing to work at all, kept saying it was unable to record at this time, it's not my HDD being full or anything.

Also some apps like to crash or hang the OS sometimes, jumping full screen between twitch and a game will cause twitch to start to act up, or sometimes the settings, friends or achievement apps refuse to load and hang on a black screen.

Silent update for the freaking win. This is awesome. I could boot up my Xbox from standby and go straight to playing. Rather than wait for the update to finish installing. It worked flawlessly last night.

Do you need to toggle silent update on?

I had the disc not recognised issue the other night too.

Crossed my fingers it was software related.

Just throwing my experiences into the mix as well. I'm also suffering from the 'dirty disc' errors and it's comforting to know its a software issue and not a physical fault with my Xone.

But yeah, same story as mostly everyone else. Play game , eject disk, xbox re-swallows the disk making you eject it again, put in any other disk and it's considered as dirty and unreadable. Need to perform a hard reset to clear the issue.

Just got an 1GB+ update, probably the one most of you here already have. Strange thing is my console refused to connect to XBL and it didn't give me a prompt that there's an update ready. I needed to go settings and test the multiplayer connection, other connection test didn't trigger anything, in order to trigger the update.

Now that's not a problem for me but I can already see some people getting really confused about this, it's not the smartest way to push an update even in the preview.

Edit:
I don't really get the "Game and app saves and updates.". Can someone explain it to me?

Just got a 1600mb update when I turned on the console. Strange that it didn't update in the background like usual, I always leave my console on standby with that instant on setting.

Don't mention it.

I remember the exact moment I started copy and pasting it, I was faffing around on my mobile, it wasn't quite working, had a few beers, fat fingers and it was 4:30am.
So I got frustrated and thought, fuck it I'm sure someone will post it.
I generally keep the info upto date, so I thought no one will mind having to search or post it.

SO, thanks for posting the patch notes.

I microwave steaks.
I had a dream of talking to Phil Harrison, and now a 1.6 gig update, it must surely be a sign.

Looking over the patch notes though, this doesn't look like it does anything :|

anyone else having problems with video playback? ever since I joined the preview program amazon instant video has been a choppy, lagging piece of shit. tried rebooting, uninstalling and even resetting to factory defaults, same thing. it's fine on my other xbox that's not part of the preview.

In the Games and Apps section, there will be a little star in the upper right corner of a game/app that indicates it has been updated. Just a nice visual cue to let you know about an update.

Ugh got an update last night that is driving my Xbox One crazy. The kinect keeps shutting off. I can't launch anything. The controller is freaking out and start and stops responding. I can't sign in manually. I have to power off my Xbox like 3 times to get it to respond. WHY DID YOU DO MS?!

I just tested out Amazon and Netflix, both are crystal clear for me. I even tried fast forwarding and restarting movies just to test if the quality would maintain, and it did.

Updating now. Will see if it fixes my strange chat problem. I don't have a cable to patch the controller, but have had the problem before that.

I can't chat in games or parties.
I can do voice over for Game DVR though.

When you wanna turn off the system with the controller, you don't have to confirm by clicking "Yes" or "No" anymore. The confirmation is still needed when using voice command.

Got the update. Everything seems fine so far other than the usual problem in Xbox Video with trailers in French and some weird text issues when selecting the language.

If you don't have the Microsoft Stereo Headset Adapter, there is no need to patch the controller.

I know that. I am just still so confused why I can't chat, but can voice over.
And the two official chat sets I have are different. One has the ear piece that can pivot, one can't.

Ok, color me confused. Are you talking about chatting with the standard wired headset that comes with the console? You are unable to chat in game with those?

Is your Kinect on?

Your issue sounds similar to mine, where the Kinect will override my headset for chat. Turn your Kinect off and do a power cycle on the system.

Have turned the Kinect on and off and power cycled. Nothing works.

I just got my xbox one this weekend, 2 quick questions:

1) are they ever going to fix the B button? that is easily the most annoying thing ever. You press b to back on the menu and it loads you back into a game you just quit. I really really hate that.

2) was trying to load pvz yesterday and it would open and then just minimize? is this normal?

sorry if not supposed to ask in here, but dont think we have just a normal xbox one thread?

The open closing thing is something that only happens to me with EA games (I've had Ryse/DR3 crash once each but we've had 3 updates since then) so I'm not sure if its just a coincidence its EA games or something specific.

The B button, I don't personally have an issue with perhaps I'm just used to it though. For achievements they've added a see more achievements button so you press that instead... what apps have you been use that you press B on and it returns you to the game?
