I didn't get to play Brawl, but I'm thinking about getting the Wii U for this game. I will rage sooo hard if Roy isn't in this game.

Roy has almost zero chance. Marth is a FE staple but Roy got cycled out for Ike, who probably will be cycled out for Chrom/Lucina/Robin. Roy's spot is for a character in the latest Fire Emblem.

really scared by the delay rumor...

There is...

...a bunch of internal evidence...

...showing that Smash Bros. will still be released by the end of 2014. If Mr. Iwata announces a delay into 2015, it will be a sudden thing.

The thing is, couldn't Smash 6 refer to an arcade game?

Like Namco did a Mario Kart arcade too. There have been 3 smashes so far, with 4,5 being 3DS and WiiU.

Smash 6 in 2015 could very well be an arcade version couldn't it? Also what's this talk about a Monolith retweet.

I think we might get the official names and a new character reveal... couldn't ask for more at this point. time will tell

Smash Bros for Wii U and Smash Bros for 3DS are the official names. Yes, they are bland names but Sakurai confirmed them to be the official names of the games last E3 in an interview.

Yikes that's lazy, but I guess that's one way to try and alleviate market confusion over the two different versions.

I doubt Smash 4 is getting delayed, I just don't see it because Namco Bandai is still aiding with development.

It would surprise me if there is a delay, but I just don't see one happening.

My guess about the delay rumours is that if they are true then they will delay the 3DS version to get the WiiU version out in 2014 and maximise it's potential hardware sales boost.

I'm hoping for Wonder Red as one of the new characters.

Still my biggest hope. Kamiya talked about a lack of advertising? Putting the Wonderful Ones in Smash would be the best advertising they could possibly get. More people might actually play the game...

Plus if they are in, regardless of their actual skill they will be one of my mains. They are so awesome and their abilities are just made for smash. It's too easy to imagine a moveset.

The other—and this is more far-fetched—is that the 3DS and Wii U Super Smash Bros. games are being counted as the fourth and fifth in the series, and that “Smash Bros. 6” is an entirely different (or perhaps updated) version of the game being released next year. This seems rather unlikely, but we’ll entertain the possibility, just in case.

Read more at http://www.siliconera.com/2014/04/0...sh-bros-game-coming-2015/#5ZgyrFaCJLxxWB2L.99

Sakurai has actually referenced the 3DS and WiiU games as the fourth and fifth games of the series.

Sakurai:(...)We're now going into versions four and five within the series—this is only something that's now possible.

So, a "Smash 6" would fit in that context, even if an annual sequel would be completely surprising at this point. Still, maybe with the lack of third party support, something like an annual entry in the series could make sense to Nintendo now. They'd be able to release it fairly quickly and have an additional big 2015 title, even if that'll hurt the legs of the upcoming Smash games.

Smash 6 in 2015 could very well be an arcade version couldn't it?
The job listing seemingly mentioned Wii U and 3ds, also mini-games, which seem rather unlikely for an Arcade game.

Hmmmm... An Arcade Smash game is a possibility considering Nintendo has done Mario Kart Arcade games (And there was that one time where they were making a Star Fox Arcade game, but that didn't happen)

a 2015 smash delay would come with Iwata stepping down or some shit. A flood of "Nintendo is doomed" threads would overtake NeoGaf's servers

People need to chill out with their paranoids. It's no point to panic since we are getting the news tomorrow for sure so please be patience and wait until tomorrow to see for ourselves.

If Nintendo delay Smash, they simply are stupid.

IF it's delayed it's not like they thought "this would be a good idea huh?" It'll be for the better. I'd rather they delay it and release it at a later date. I think keeping the titles as high quality as possible and keeping the fan base happy for future iterations is more important than rushing it and risk sullying the ip just to help the Wii U.

If the listing is correct they have over 120 people at Namco working on it with a plan to increase the number to 200. That's a lot so it's not like they're messing about with development.

I don't think it'll be delayed btw.

You know what? I just got Kid Icarus a few days ago and I'm loving it.

but I guess my soul is just a dried up husk or whatever because the very first thing I did was

- boot up the game
- start up campaign
- "The people are celebrating the return of the goddess Palutena!" HOLD THE DAMN PHONE, GOOD LORD SON
- exit campaign
- options
- voice acting volume 0%
- top screen subtitles
What's wrong with you

Quick question, would there be a place to re-watch this shortly after it ends? I normally get done work at 8:30pm and the best the boss could do is let me off at 6pm so by the time in home it'll be over. I like to find somewhere to watch it without any knowledge of what the direct will show. So no spoilers basically.

I like the points in favor of Ridley...but still, I refuse to believe it was even seriously considered. I hope I'm proven wrong though!

Kraid...now Kraid would make some sense. Okay maybe not.

I wanted to recall this little argument a couple of pages back.

The problem with Ridley and Kraid is that their sizes are the staples of the characters, you have to reduce them to make them playable, and when reduced they lose their appeal and menace. People will cite Metroid 1, Metroid 1 bosses suck though :p.

I would prefer something like a space pirate, unfortunately no Metroid game has given us an interesting character besides Samus, and Samus was ruined too at the end.

Many Nintendo games are made by teams of 60 or less.

This is not just any Nintendo game though. Probably in the top three of most expensive games they are releasing this year (yeah I wouldn't read into that rumor. What I could see is Wii U version this year and 3DS next. In addition to that the team could work on some DLC for the Wii U version at the same time with 3DS version). Also that 120 would be with Namco-Bandai only. They're not the only developer working on SSB4.

It'd be badass if they revealed Takamaru, given the same treatment Pit received in SSBB, and if they announced Mysterious Murasame Castle for the eShop to coincide with it (which would explain the Australian ratings board review of it some time back).

Whoa, I don't remember hearing about this. That would be so. awesome.

I get where he's coming from. I'm glad I held out and kept them on the whole game, but the first mission had me seriously considering turning them off.

Pit's voice is surprisingly annoying compared to the stellar work for everyone else. Maybe that was intentional.

Yeah I get ya. It's super cheesy stuff and really over enthusiastic at first for many but when you give it time it's fucking phenomenal. I'm pretty sure it was intended. Almost reminds me of Spike Spencer as Shinji type of grating at times but I like it. He's a proper naive boyscout type of character. Over optimistic "We can do it!" Type of character. Palutena and the rest of the cast pretty much acknowledge it. It's amazing.
