Nintendo employee says yesterday's Smash Bros. Direct is hiding a few things

I'd kinda be pissed if we got either Ghirahim or Demise, i like both of them but having, what I assume would be one, Skyward Sword exclusive character when both Link and Zelda are clearly based off Twilight Princess would not fit at all. Also, Ridley isn't playable, he's too damn big big.
Can you imagine SS Zelda fighting? Besides, she lacks a lot of life.
We got over OoT Shiek, right?

Fi has more chances of being in than Ghirahim, no? He is not a nostalgia character nor advertising for a new game (unless he appears in ALBW?). Fi is the Master Sword, so there is that at least.

Could be right, if only Tiki herself wasnt highly requested in Japan like Little Mac/Ridley over here

The Dark Knight of Zelda is from the DS games, the scarab item is from Skyward sword, and dare I say, Toon Link?
Zelda is from Ocarina of Time and Sheik too.

Really, Skyward sword Ghirahim would make a lot of sense, do not forget that Smash is a kid playing with toys in his room, logic do not make sense here.

Since the game is gonna be released after e3 annd we are assuming the new Zelda will be announced there...

I think Zelda newcomer might be someone from the new game ?

Maybe ?...I dunno.

That would be cool, and they've done it before, right? Introducing characters from games that were just barely released? With Fire Emblem, I think?

I think this person is on the right track, but their roster predictions are off. Lucina has 0% chance of making it, Chrom 100%. I'm not so sure about a Skyward Sword character making, I wouldn't be surprised if we see no new Zelda reps.

Lucina is more popular than Chrom in Japan so your statement is false.

Ghirahim would be badass, but please don't replace my Dorf with him. They can live together in harmony.

Not if Dorf and Falcon are there at the same time and they are not modified.
Dorf as a Falcon clone do not make sense. Dorf should use his sword and change form, not Falcon punch stuff around.

Same goes for Falco and Wolf. If they are not modified, I do not want them in. Using 3 character slots for something that can be now done with the Move Set modifier is annoying.

I used to think Ridley wouldn't work as a fighter, but then I saw how well they animated Charizard. Ridley is one of the coolest Metroid characters by a mile, and I'd do back flips (screw attack?) if he was included.

If this isn't a troll then:

Ridley is the most recognizeable figure from the Metroid Series aside from Samus and possibly the Metroids themselves. He's tied to her past in many ways and is basically the one of the main antagonists of the series.

People want him because they want more Metroid representation, he'd be another villain, and it's about damn time he'd be playable.

Nope, no troll here. Haven't played through a single Metroid. Played the third one for the Wii but got lost at some point (a flying city I believe) and it was pretty tough. Bought Super Metroid Wii U VC during the sale but didn't have the time to play it yet.

It's just that to me..., I don't see that thing being a playable character in Smash. It's so big isn't it?

Every time I hear this my rage builds.
Smash NEVER takes size into account, fucking Olimar is the size of a god damn grape.

Olimar is the size of an insect in his home game.

Bowser is often far far taller relative to mario in his games than he is in smash.

If they want to put the character in then they could find a balanced size for him where he works as a character but doesn't feel too out-of-scale relative to samus.

They haven't said anything about how flexible the character skins will get have they? I want more costume changes...

If Sakurai wants to destroy Gaf for good, he'll just reveal Ridley at e3. We will never recover.

With the expection of Sheik, Tetra, and Phantom Zelda, I really can't imagine any of them fighting. TP Zelda for instance held a sword once and that's all she did in terms of combat. I'm not sure what you're saying about her having less life or what you're referring to about OoT Sheik.

True, the moves are mixed, but it'd still be weird, though I'd love to see what Ghirahim's moveset would be. I guess I'm just salty, I love Link's SS design and all his emotions.

Size is only an issue if the developer is lazy. Olimar is technically a couple of inches, as well as Kirby. Bowser has changed sizes a lot as well. If they can get Charizard to be playable then I feel like making Ridley playable as well shouldn't be a problem.

Is Kirby that small? Cool! I did not know that. Source?
