Twitch Plays Pokemon Fire Red Randomizer: Return to the Land of Ghost Lorelei

This is the first time we've had a "problem" of our team lineup being almost too good this far into the game. Instead of being carried by one high-level exp-sponge of dubious end-game value, have three top mon of high power and equal level and are actually leveling up our other pokemon with high potential. The only odd one out is Nincada and our problem is that we have too many good options for replacing him.

I think a strong consensus can be built for swapping Nincada for Torchic. The real problem is what's everyone's "secondary" pick. That's all over the place. I personally would be down for swapping Quagsire for Eevee. Quagsire's alright, but he would need some dedicated grinding (which we're not opposed to since that's what we're doing with Swablu right now) and he's made a bit redundant by Sandslash and Blastoise. Those aren't horrible strikes against him by any means, but having Blaziken and Jolteon on the team would be fucking sickhouse!

I just want us to have a good grass Pokemon for once. Water types tend to wreck us.

So what is the plan with democracy right now? Depositing Nincada I assume, and there seems to be some debate about Quagsire.

Please don't bring back Skitty. PLEASE.

Well we deposited Nincada without incident, though I'm honestly surprised we didn't even attempt to try to retrieve anyone into the new vacancy.

Never hurts to keep an extra slot open in case they run into something AMAZEBALLS, though the odds of catching it are admittedly slim.

There was a plan to keep the slot open and get the Pokemon from the "Fighting" gym and catch the other "Snorlax" to see what they are. After that they will probably decide what to fill the last slot with.

And fighting gym = grass, it seems. Fly is going to dominate this gym.

Actually, bug type I guess. Would have been a good place to level up Swablu since it has Drill Peck as the first move.

That makes sense. See what the "Hitmon" will be and if it's something we like, then great. I bet the other Snorlax will also be a Glalie.

If the Fighting gym is grass, then it would be perfect if Sabrina's gym is Fire.

With all the talk about using the PC to optimize our lineup there is one elephant in the room. No matter what we end up on, there will be another PC shuffle on Cinnabar Island once we revive the Dome.

I am so confused about this gym, it doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to the types of Pokemon.

Lol, Jumpluff as Hitmonchan.

Watching the democracy voting is hilarious.

It seems like if there isn't one concise move by move poster plan posted on imgur that everyone agrees to, democracy will only last 2 moves.

Then there's the chat war that ensues.

Looks like we got a Slakoth :3 Without truant it could be pretty good.

Anyway, finally finished Pokemon Yellow; I've only finished Sapphire and X before. Had a team of Dragonair, Pikachu, Omastar (named Lord Helix of course), Alakazam, Articuno, and Snorlax. Lorelei was a pain in the butt!

The slakoth line, thanks to no truant, is BEASTLY in a randomizer

Slaking has legendary stats

If Slakoth learns some good moves it would definitely be worth leveling up. Could end up being terrible though if most of the moves it learns are status moves. Would end up like the chairman.

And they seem to be struggling to level it up, I think that's the same level they got it at.

Quagsire also seems like dead weight at this point.

So all it really has is Water Pulse now. Sand Tomb is meh, Hydro Cannon is strong but still not useful due to low PP and the recharge turn.

Speaking of, they just got rid of bone club for sand attack on him :/
They have literally made the wrong move selection for every single new move. They replaced flamethrower with safeguard, they didn't replace torment, they didn't replace bubblebeam, they replaced bone club with sand attack.... They just need to always have a new Pokemon ready to replace the one they ruined.

No, chat actively wanted Drill Peck to replace Growth

I think they wanted to move it later on. IF they manage it, it would be an amazing choice

Probably threw it at a trainer.

Leveling up Slakoth at Pokemon Tower is probably not a bad idea. Seems like a lot of people are against that though.

Seems like half the chat wants out, and half wants to grind Slakoth. So no progress is being made.

With that moveset and the stats he will have later, it is totally worth grinding him up to 30-35 here. Shouldn't even take long if they can get to the healing thing.

Yea, we will have a slaking without truant, it will be a beast.
