I'm OK with the demo being demo. That's great.
What I'm not OK with is that this game was practically pushed as a marketing device for PS+ . Sure, you're going to pay now but you get a majority of this awesome game (don't ask for quotes, it's all in the OP. Sony has mentioned and Rushy mentioned it was going to be "almost the full game").
I personally was wanting this game because I only had a PS4 back then, so PS+ was pretty worthless to me. I have since reaped the benefits with a Vita purchase and one or two games on the PS4 but that was never the intention of my purchasing PS+ at launch, a hefty discount with this game plus to be "connected" for my first year of ownership was the plan.
This isn't entitlement. The promises changed and the intentions of the PS+ version have altered. It's not our fault that they promised this, it's theirs. I don't understand the "OH BUT YOU GET A FREE GAME" bullshit, we don't. We get a demo. A nice demo, but a demo nonetheless.
I completely understand the frustration. Sony and Evolution should have been more clear about it and the connection to PS+. It was basically "Buy PS+, get Driveclub" ... then it turned into "Buy PS+, get a slightly less version of the main game Driveclub" ... now it's "Buy PS+, get a demo of Driveclub".
It does suck. Anybody who was in the DC threads or around the launch was very aware of how they were positioning DC to be part of the PS+ package. Now it's a glorified demo a year later. Even talks about Knack replacing DC for the PS+ game was talked about shortly because the DC PS+ 'game' was going to be delayed.
I'm still looking forward to the game, but the communication of what the connection was to PS+ could have been conveyed a lot better.
