I feel like that is a metaphor for the Wii U's existence.
Yea, I could see them announce less because the have a 'big' headliner for the first quarter of next year. The Driveclub delay was annoying, but this apparent one for the Order is even more so. E3 will be interesting to say the least.
I have it as well but i'm sure retail disks didn't come out at the same time as the digital game. I even remember moaning about it on here and me saying that i wouldn't be able to download the game and how it sucks that i wouldn't be able to play it.
I'm in the UK by the way, could it of been different here?.

There's no way Quantum Break is making it in 2014, especially with the game just reaching full production.
And I actually believe that TLOU has more "system mover" potential than remakes of decade old titles. Halo fans probably already purchased and lined up for an Xbox One day one. That audience is built in. However, there's probably a decent amount of 360 owners that haven't made the jump to next-gen yet but always wanted to play TLOU.
Regardless, neither is going to be a big system seller. Remakes never are.
I'm only bringing up NPD because that gives us a good indication of what's pushing system sales. Games that sell more tend to also push hardware. CoD probably single handedly sold more 360's than all of the exclusive 360 titles combined.

MS last said that it sold 1.5million. Nothing exceptional but solid numbers for a remake.
I think three is a solid number, yes. I think if TLoU had been fall, and The Order wouldn't have been delayed, Sony would have had three too, and I think that would have been solid. It's a very busy window, and very few people are buying eight to ten games in three months, there's no point having five or more first party games during the holiday.
Sony could still have three, TLoU could be delayed, TLG could be ready in time, it's hard to say.

No point in being that excited for announcements of games that will come out a year from now and also have the same possibility of being delayed. If you have a PC then this year hasn't justified a current gen console purchase. However this is nothing new. First year is never that good.

Honestly this has been a weird ass year all these third parties make AAA games go for end of the year because that's when games tend to sell the most. The month gets crowded as hell and will almost certainly eat into each other sales and we get delays upon delays, into periods they weren't planning to release in the first place.
If there were more lower budget games you wouldn't need to all release during fall.

The delay if confirmed is definetly disappoiting, not so much for the game itself which will benefit from it and will be a better product eventually, but of course relatively to Sony's first party 2014 lineup.
Still I'd prefer to wait until E3 to see what kind of suprises they have in store.
It would be a pretty poor release planning on their side if the only game they were planning to release at the end of the year was The Order and I don't consider Driveclub because that's a title they intended to release at launch, the fact that it's coming late right now comes in handy but it was not intentional, so the question at the moment is: which games they were intentionally planning to release at the end of 2014?
I guess we'll find out at E3, the risk right now is to have a repeat of the PS3 situation in 2012-2013 when the 2012 lineup was really lackluster and ended up having All Stars Battle Royale as their top title (ROTFL) while 2013 was amazingly stacked. 2014 might be really disappointing for first party titles for PS4 while 2015 might be totally amazing with The Order, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, GT7 Prologue, Rime, Everyone's Gone to The Rapture and many others all hitting at the same time.

If the game needs more time, so be it. But If it's a strategically delay then it sucks. Hopefully Arkham Knight is still a 2014 game because i couldn't care less for Destiny or Driveclub (or CoD, BF, AC and all the other yearly factory assembly line stuff).

the Wii U version is the only one I care about. I'm not getting the appeal of that game on handhelds to be honest.

Um, that was a retail release. That shit is currently sitting on my shelf. The real arguement as to why it didn't crack the top ten was all those other games are mega-ton blockbusters. And the Reach multiplayer turned a lot of people away from the game.
If you're this butthurt over one or two game's possible delays, then maybe learn from this and NEVEREVERNEVER buy a console at launch EVER again. Only buy them when a sufficient number of (exclusive) games are out that you want to play (5+ big exclusives?). These droughts happen during the first year of every fucking platform and I still can't believe why people are so surprised or annoyed by them. It keeps happening with every console & handheld.
At least PS4 has it far better than most platforms thanks to awesome indie support, the F2P stuff, FFXIV like great MMOs and such.
Was it always confirmed to get a retail release when it was announced?, could they of changed their minds along the way and decided to do a retail release later?.
Its weird because i can picture in my mind the pissed off posts i did about it on other forums.

That MIGHT come out next year.

True but i like my couch multiplayer for those games. I don't begrudge that it exists. I do think it should be cross buy and both versions released at the same time. That delay is some B.S
February isnt too far away though. Hopefully it results in a better game
So do i, i said at the time. I thought the retail release came after the DD relase but it seems i was wrong.

This is just getting sad. I can't believe that the possible delay of ONE game is such a make or break deal for anyone. If you think Sony's fall (after E3) is pathetic without The Order potentially being a part of it (do remember that this is just a rumor), then you would have thought it's pathetic even if The Order is a part of it.

What if people bought them expecting Driveclub a relatively short time away from launch and The Order to be available the next year?

Sure its never good to buy a console at launch, but that doesn't take away from how disappointing it has been this year for Sony, in terms of games.
Neither did consumers.
I used to get super excited for a portable Smash, but playing All-Stars on Vita has made me realize, just view-wise, it's not the best way to experience the game.
