The delay if confirmed is definetly disappoiting, not so much for the game itself which will benefit from it and will be a better product eventually, but of course relatively to Sony's first party 2014 lineup.
Still I'd prefer to wait until E3 to see what kind of suprises they have in store.
It would be a pretty poor release planning on their side if the only game they were planning to release at the end of the year was The Order and I don't consider Driveclub because that's a title they intended to release at launch, the fact that it's coming late right now comes in handy but it was not intentional, so the question at the moment is: which games they were intentionally planning to release at the end of 2014?
I guess we'll find out at E3, the risk right now is to have a repeat of the PS3 situation in 2012-2013 when the 2012 lineup was really lackluster and ended up having All Stars Battle Royale as their top title (ROTFL) while 2013 was amazingly stacked. 2014 might be really disappointing for first party titles for PS4 while 2015 might be totally amazing with The Order, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, GT7 Prologue, Rime, Everyone's Gone to The Rapture and many others all hitting at the same time.

Yeah the question is whether The Order was the only game planted for a fall release. Chronologically:

-Killzone/Knack/(Driveclub)
-inFamous
-The Order

If DC wasn't delayed or not by that much and The Order delay is real, they would have no games at all. I'm hoping for a surprise exclusive announcement for this year but I don't think Sony has ever had any big exclusive to announce on such short notice.

No, Skryim is a bland and lifeless game with a terrible combat system.

Yea, I could see them announce less because the have a 'big' headliner for the first quarter of next year. The Driveclub delay was annoying, but this apparent one for the Order is even more so. E3 will be interesting to say the least.

If Sony thinks they can hold back on announcements because of a DELAYED game into February 2015 "filling out" the 2015 schedule then they are delusional. If I come out of this year's E3 unexcited about what I hear then I really think both platform holders are in for a rude awakening as the generation progresses.

This is what people are not understanding. Sony are gonna get away with it though because MS dont have a huge game for fall (though they do have Sunset Overdraive which is potentially great new IP.)

Just my two cents, but whenever The Last Guardian is going to be announced whether it's this E3, TGS, next E3, etc. It will be released shortly after. The huge delay is seen as an embarrassment and I think, if, it is going to be announced in June it could be a Holiday 2014 game.

So would i. A lot of people don't seem to like the game on here but its THE game of last generation imo.

Having said that, i have it for PC and even my old ass PC can run the game at 60fps and i also use mods, not many to be honest but i would find it hard playing the game without having my beloved Vilja in my squad.

Personally I haven't been at all impressed with what I have seen, but that is a matter of preference. Not seen a reason for the delay, the same as DriveClub (better menu's... come the fuck on.) but this seems to be a trend for the new gen games.

It is worrying that this is supposed to be the easiest console to develop for when we heard the rhetoric at the start, a big factor in my decision to buy a PS4. I expected games to come out swiftly, with smaller development times. Not to see delay after delay, and large gaps between good games. Destiny is not a single player game and therefore doesn't appeal to a large console audience, so what else is there for gamers? Is it likely that Soony has a secret game they will announce at e3 to come out this year? Especially considering games they announced ages ago are getting large delays.


Soony have certainly taking many step backwards so far in 2014, they have been smashing it with the hardware sales but management in general has been very poor. I wonder if Jack Tretton was holding it all together. My PS4 is pretty much just gathering dust, I loved Infamous, Resogun and had some fun with Killzone and some of the smaller games... thats not enough of a reason to own one though. I expected more and would have to recommend to any potential buyers just not to bother right now.

Sure its never good to buy a console at launch, but that doesn't take away from how disappointing it has been this year for Sony, in terms of games.

Last Guardian and FFXV should have taught gamers to not buy anything based on promises.

+ we are still living in the first part of 2014. Sony's latter part of 2014 might look a bit empty, but I've pointed out why that could easily change for the better at E3. Some games like Rime & Shadow of the Beast might get release dates, some new smaller scope titles could perfectly well be announced for a late 2014 release (all of which were probably always going to be the biggest part of those new games & IPs of the 20 games, if people thought they'd all be Legend of Dragoons and Dark Cloud 3s, they were just being naive) and it's not completely impossible that they'd still announce 1-2 new retail level games for 2014 at E3. It's the first half a year after launch. Devs have still not worked a full year with finished hardware, so the games might be shown a bit later in their development cycle for at least a few different reasons. And Sony might've just wanted to get the launch properly behind them before announcing anything big & exciting and E3 is the natural next point during the year to start hyping the future after a very successful launch & Spring.
