Destiny to appear at Sony presser on Monday

Based on only like 1/5 of the game which is the problem Bungie faces.

Yup, that's true. Honestly, I hope they show more of the multiplayer than sequences of the single player. Touch on how awesome it is to buddy up with people and play co op, but hopefully without revealing too much of the story.

Despite the lackluster gameplay demos we saw, I think people will still buy it because Bungie creates quality content, despite design choice differences players have. Personally, I'm excited either way :]

I wanna like this game, but the way the info rollout was handled hasn't done them any favors. The messaging is confusing, and it's still not coming across as unique or compelling enough. It simply doesn't fill me with hype.

I feel the same, and it had me hyped, though I'm not sure exactly what for, the prospect of a new experience I guess. No idea what that would be exactly.

Good?

He said he was extremely underwhelmed.

As I said, Bungie needs a home run at E3.

Does anyone have links to this thread? I can't believe I missed out on it lol

EDIT: Welp, shit.. I was guessing there wouldn't really be any other vehicles but not even a damn WARTHOG?! That's seriously some shit man.. And "radar extremely important for survival" - DAMN! booooo

I suppose it's good to not be overly hyped for it so there's less of a chance for disappointment.

I refer to my first point. Its not that people hate the game. People have yet to see a game to hate. So far we only saw some spacedudes running around and shooting at other moving spacedudes. And even that wasn´t presented in a spectacular way.

That didn't stop Borderlands from becoming one of the best selling new IPs of the previous generation. What makes you think Destiny will not do as well? Because all they have shown is basic gameplay?

In my opinion, there is still a lot to show for the game that we don't know about, such as the competitive multiplayer side of things, how deep customization will really go, what can we expect from the campaign in terms of worlds. We know a little about key points, such as its a Co-op FPS with major customization aspects, but maybe thats why Sony is making a big deal about it? With the game like 4 months away, maybe now is when we find out everything?

Bungie needs to knock this shit out of the park and really wow people. There is a really negative stigma towards the game as of late and it's mostly because everything they have shown has been underwhelming/boring at best.

Emphasize the world size, mission structure, and have an impressive campaign demo.

Is there really a negative stigma on this game aside from some people on Gaf ?
I know some people not to hype about it but still it early days and with beta coming up people question will be answered .
Not to mention the Activision hype machine not start yet and it's suppose to be one highest new IP when it comes to pre orders .

There is with the press at least, I'm sure it won't have too much of effect on sales considering September is a barren wasteland and pre-order numbers are already strong.

For the lazy, here again is the link to the What We Know So Far video that has changed so many posters minds.

Yes it is Bungie's fault that this isn't common knowledge, and people keep calling this a Halo or a Borderlands clone. It's a HUGE step away from those game with the things it's trying to do with a shooter.

Educate yourselves.

For me, if it's borderlands with better graphics I'll be happy since I love borderlands.

This is actually exactly how I feel... I have seen enough of this game to know that it scratches that borderlands itch that I enjoyed so much previously. You ad the presentation and polish that Bungie games are known for only makes me want the game more.

Meanwhile, even though i was never a fan of Halo multiplayer, I look forward to seeing how they approach the competitive aspect of the game, which we already know is going to be more than just dueling like Borderlands. And the large scale boss events are also something I am extremely excited about that differentiates it.

Well then, I guess I didnt remember correctly. Still just one persons opinion. I know a lot of people need to see them hit a home run at E3 to be sold on the game but there are a lot of people, like me, who are already sold on the game.

There were and are posters here that were "underwhelmed" by The Last of Us. It takes all kinds.

I have to add that i tried borderlands 1 and 2 and quit the games 30 mins in. I was bored of them so i don´t claim my opinion has weight.

Nontheless i say that Bungie has (so far) failed in showing what the game is about. I saw a new video today posted in another thread and for the first time they stated what the game might look like. Afterwards i was slightly interested. I hope they continue to share information on gameplay and all the stuff you mentioned above.

Even then I think until you actually have a chance to play retail you aren't going to have the full picture. Bungie is playing it close to the vest. Also the guy should realize that Alpha's and Beta's don't always have the full range of vehicles, weapons, maps, etc.

Stage demos for The Order: 1886, Destiny and Assassin's Creed Unity will take approximately 30 minutes of Sony's conference...

That video doesn't include the impressions of the guy who played the PVP, who said it was bad. Are we supposed to ignore the bad and only focus on what you want us to or are we allowed to form our own impressions? Right now what they've shown has been incredibly underwhelming to me, but also make me want to see more. The stuff about the PVP is distressing, because that's where the game's longevity is going to come from.

You know this how?
Destiny is definitely going to have a stage demo, The Order: 1886 has already been confirmed to have a stage demo. Assassin's Creed Unity is probably going to have one....

The times are an educated guess based on what we saw last E3.

I love this idea that multiplats are somehow stealing time that could be dedicated to SWEET SWEET EXCLUSIVES instead.

Reality check, you'll probably be able to count the number of NEW UNANNOUNCED exclusives on half of one hand.

So that leaves at least another hour+ for stuff we know little or nothing about. What's the issue?

The issue? Ridiculous expectations and constantly moving goal posts. Ecru Sony focused thread is filled with people who believe that if a game being shown isn't from Naughty Dog, it doesn't count.

As for Destiny, I think I finally understand now why Halo fans loved that series so much while I, as a PS3 owner, couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. None of those videos impressed me either. The what we know video got me hyped for everything else about the title, though.

If you mean other exclusives games i'm not sure :(

Why do they need to be exclusive? Awesome games are awesome games. When you have the more powerful system at the game price point, third party titles also count.

I've been really wanting to compile quotes from people who make these ridiculous hyperbolic comments about Sony's presser. I would then compile them into a thread. If I wasn't so certain it would get me banned, that is.

Also, if I actually had time.

We won't see trailers about The Order, Destiny and Drive Club we will see direct stage demo so yes it can take 10min for talk + stage demo for each games !
