Nah. I'm just laughing my ass off that people are honestly digging up my youtube comment trolling as evidence of my "fanboyism". Gotta love GAF sometimes.

Surely you dont expect people to believe in this lame excuse right?

Hey at least they updated their article so everyone can see:

Are you fucking kidding me? They really just did that?

Still haven't changed the headline though. I keep refreshing and on the main page it keeps going between The Last Guardian is Canceled and The Last Guardian is No More. I guess they can't choose which wrong headline they like better. Jeez!

Because they won't take it down? I'm not understanding the frustration at this point.

Ok, first of all, as I said, this is the billionth thing IGN has done to show they're shit. When they did their XBOv.PS4 tech comparisons, they made a knowingly deceptive chart that was not only wildly inaccurate, but made it seem as if the two were nearly equal. They consistently fail to edit the garbage out of their reviews, which feature endless errors, factual inaccuracies and fucking garbage bin writing.

And now they do this? If they got a rumour wrong, that's fine. It happens. When Scott Rhodes says your rumour is wrong without any hesitation, no caveats, then you change your article and say you're mistaken. It's that simple. They have a duty to do that for their customers who click their articles and pay for their atrocious site with ad revenue.

Why is it that people think not getting angry at things like that equals maturity?

Rohde's tweet is pretty damn arrogant in actuality.

"Oh yes, Yosp and I had a hearty laugh that people might think a game we haven't shown or discussed in any substantive way for nearly five years might be canceled. Silly little plebeians!!"

It's actually nearly more infuriating than IGN's article given the tone deafness of it.

lol

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I mean, let's run down the possibilities here:

1) It's true and Sony doesn't want to say anything yet, so they issued a denial.

2) It's not true but IGN was lead to believe it through usually credible sources that were themselves given wrong or incomplete information.

3) It's not true and IGN took very weak sources and ran with them irresponsibly.

The third one is a really, really heavy accusation and basically torpedoes them as a news source. It's possible, but would have had to be done damn near drunkenly for an editor to post it.

The second one seems the most likely to me. I don't really buy the "Sony was trying to root out leakers" theory, but I can easily see people just getting it wrong. If this is the case and IGN didn't knowingly put up a false story, they might be trying to find out where in the chain the information breakdown happened before they acknowledge it as false.
option 2 seems the most likely.

Just my opinion, but from my times of not knowing any better and using IGN as my only source for gaming information Steve Butts is a pretty great guy. I don't believe he would post something like that if his sources didn't tell him so. They were clearly wrong but anyway that's just one fans observation.

This is what I'm saying.

Say what you want about IGN, but they wouldn't post something up just to mess with people. I'm sensing that people feel personally slighted by this.
