Grand Theft Auto V - Coming for PS4, Xbox One and PC this Fall - Trailer

I'm surprised anyone would even want their single player save file.

The best thing about this is playing through it fresh with all the new enhancements.

Agreed. I have no interest in the online truth be told, I just want to play through the game again all shiny.

Fuck UK game prices. I was told this is 'normal' for every new generation but seriously we've seen nothing but an increase in prices.

PS1 games = £30
PS2 games = £40
PS3 games = £45
PS4 games = £50/55

Nobody in the real world pays these prices unless they're idiots. You can always find games for 20% or more off these RRPs.

It IS normal for high prices the first year or so of a gen. I spent most of last gen paying £30-35 for brand new games.

I hope it's not real. It would be sad if Rockstar was taking shots at a much lesser game. And I say that as a fan of Watch Dogs.

At any rate I'm so pumped to finally play this on PC. Sad it took so long but whatever I'm sure it's going to be well worth the wait. With their recent work on Max Payne 3 I think they're going to really hit it out of the park.

There is no way in hell I'm doing that 30min marathon again, haha.

I guess there might be a mod to skip that though. Or I'll just ignore it, but that's the kind of thing that will bug me.

Inflation, how does it work?

And anyway, most PS3 titles have an RRP of £49.99, and some games are £54.99. GTA V included, also FIFA, COD etc.

There is no RRP difference between GTA V on PS3/360 and PS4/One.

Pretty sure the other gens weren't as cheap RRP wise as you're suggesting either.

You do want to throw some shit Sega's way though. £69.99 RRP for Alien Isolation.

Games should be £40 or less.

On Amazon I'm seeing a mixture of prices, ranging from £40 to £45. Preorder prices ranging from £45 to £55.

I have a copy of Blood Omen from 1998 with the receipt still in the box, it was £48

As I thought, IIRC F197 was a RRP of £50 - I remember because I got a free copy and I was gob-smacked to get such a gift

edit - sorry for going OT

I can't wait for the face-off lol

With that said though, games drop in price hugely here. Its normal to find games only a few months old at below £20.

Not from the stores i shop in -

16bit days - £40-50
32bit days - £35-45, £40-60 N64
PS2/Xbox days - £40-50
Last gen days - £35-40

All average prices after the first 1-2 years of inflated prices at the start of a new generation.

This gen they started at £45-55 (like the start of last gen) but they are already down to £45 new (sometimes £40) and given another 6-12 months they will be down to the standard £35-40.

One thing we can't complain about these days is game prices, they are cheaper these days than they were over 20 years in the 16bit days!.

1) Only online is transferable by the statements made.

2) The trophy / achievement list will likely be seperate from the previous versions. I say this because a) It's happened many times with other titles on PS consoles, and b) because I sure as fuck want it to be true.

I have all the online cheevs though. I can't see them being different, although I hope they are.

Are there any Bone games that are also on 360? Do these have multiple lists? I know that there are literally dozens on PS consoles that double the lists when played on different platforms. Although you are right that the online ones being separate while allowing your character to be transferred seems unlikely.

It used to be possible to double some games on 360 by playing them on PC. You would get achievements for both versions, but shown twice on your list without mentioning PC.

Give the online a go. You won't regret it.

I did try it on PS3 when the game came out, but it seemed a bit barren, with little to actually do other than piss around. First impressions though are rarely accurate for me.

£30 in 1997 (when did PS1 launch here?) is £47.66 now.
£40 in 2001 is £57.75 now.
£50 in 2008 (as that's the Ps3 RRP) is £58.19 now.

Worth noting that PS1 games were initially mostly £40, but had a blanket price drop to £30 after a few years. Same for Ps2.

Super street fighter 2 on snes and virtua racer on the mega drive were both £70 (£121.53 now!) so we aren't doing too bad. Especially with the insane production costs nowadays.

I import my ps4 games anyway. You can get them for around £33.

I wonder if Boris will make ENB work with this.

Given the jump we've seen in GTA IV:

It's hard to imagine the possible jump we'd get with a game that already looks fantastic, out of the box.

Somebody mentioned earlier in the thread that, as with DX10 before it, he's not going to be bringing ENB to DX11. Although the game has PS360 roots, given the PC is a "next-gen" port I suspect it won't support DX9. Maybe he'll change his mind if enough people prod him, though.

As incredible as that PC image is...how well does that sucker run and how much time/trouble would it take to get all that shit installed and working properly?

I just don't have the know-how or patience for PC gaming (though I wish I did). Plug and play all day for this guy.

The only PS4 game that costs less than £20 is MGS GZ.

FIFA 14 still costs £42!
As someone else has said, thats due to the new generation and so few games being available. Games have steadily gotten cheaper over the generations.

I remember in the XBOX/PS2 days, a recent game at £20 was a bargain.

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
I really wanted to get this game but its god damn 70$ for the game I have already played. I am going to wait for the price drop. But definitely getting this on Xbox One. Traded my 360 copy for 18$.

Runs well - here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIMHT51C1f0&feature=youtu.be

I get 60fps at 1080p with a 770 using this ENB. Car and texture mods are optional. Installing an ENB is as simple as copying files into your GTA4 folder.

I didn't get to play this on last gen. I'll grab this gen. You guys that have played last gen, can you see any significant graphic updates besides resolution?

Photoreal GTA where you can enter every full-furnished building is the Holy Grail of GTA Games™

We will get there one day.

game prices are cheaper than they have ever been in the UK if you account for inflation.
I'm not sure how old you are but i grew up having to pay £50-60 regularly for n.e.s and snes games, and back then it was a gamble a lot of the time as there were so many new ip's and almost all of them had amazing boxart.
with every new generation the price has actually gone down if you take into account inflation, we all have the console wars and a growing industry to thank.
You should be thankful you live in a country where most games(other than nintendo) get reduced after a month, i know i am.

I must be the only one not impressed with ENB or the other graphical mods. GTA IV still looks GTA IV. These pics look beautiful, but once you play the game, it still is the same GTA IV, boring, prettier and runs shit on even a high end system. A golden bit does not make the horse any better.

That said, I'm looking forward for GTA V ENB in 5 years when a high end system can run it.

I agree, ENB is too inconsistent and car mods often cause annoying spawning bugs. I mostly find myself going back to Vanilla. Maxed out and with a ton of downsampling it still looks awesome. One mod that is required is the "realistic handling" mod. Untouchable driving and still the best in the open world genre. Wish they would fix the physics for GTAV re-release.
