The Last of Us PS4 remaster - direct screengrabs *spoilers*

Best looking PS4 game? Lmao!...OK maybe the art style is better? In that matter its subjective, in everything else no, not even close. Maybe some people should go back and take a another look at infamous ss or even watch_dogs. The former is a gigantic leap in every sense.

My firend thinks I am dumb for getting this for PS4 when I have it on PS3....BUT HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND!!!! THE 60FPS WILL SAVE MY SOUL!!!
I also got $14 for my PS3 copy and my cousin is going to pay the other half.

Just watching parts of this game for the first time on ps4 and there's some serious clipping issues. The young girl walking right through the main character and hands and feet clipping through various objects. Is this normal or something introduced in the ps4 version?

i dont know what it was, but screenshots of ISS that people took on here always looked better than when I was actually playing. My tv is 1080p and all that...not sure what it was. Maybe just my eyes
There are certain moments in Second Son that when you have a bit of practise you can take a picture in a spot and make it look incredible just turning off the UI in Photo Mode. I've spent a lot of time on Photo Mode and Second Son itself (my first Platinum) and on a 1080i TV (the horror...the horror) yet it does look stunning and like the shots we see. That's not to say your experience isn't as clean as others, so I would recommend adjusting your TV's settings unless it is your TV's post-processing that can be messing it up, in which case put it into "Game Mode" or change the Input name to "PC" or "Game" are a few recommendations I've read before.

I see what you did there :p

Check this thread out :)

DUDE ..... I read through the thread and fixed a problem I have had with my 60 for two years. I had some latency issues which largely made playing fighting games and shooters unplayable. Never could figure it out dug through the thread changed a series of settings and bam no latency at all...... going to have to rebuy UMVC and USF4 ..... brohugs .... man brohugs.

Can anyone check to see if they changed the reflections in the puddles to match the actual surroundings or if it still shows a different image. This always bugged me in the ps3 version. I believe the puddles are in the overcast part after the prologue when they're in the alleys.

The image quality is much improved. Dunno why some are so disappointed with the "lack" of graphical updates to it, it's just an up-port. Besides, 60 fps is a huge upgrade, not only to the gameplay, but the visuals as well ( I'll take a game that looks better in motion over a game that looks pretty in stills anyday), but of course that isn't going to show in screenshots.

From what I caught on the stream this area looked absolutely stellar. The water ripple effects looked totally redone and I didn't notice a performance drop at all.

ND mentioned in passing that the water was redone but we haven't seen it yet. I wanna see :(

I'm even more excited for GTA V Remaster than I am for this!

That game needs the Remaster more.

Rockstar and Naughty Dog were both squeezing blood from stones last year, but TLoU being designed around the advantages of the PS3 architecture give it a bit of a technical advantage up over the multiplat GTA V.

Searching for The Last of Us (Remastered)

This video is inspired by the wonderful madness that took flight on NeoGAF - a thread about believes in a developer's ability to deliver stable 60 fps giraffics and joyous "disc in my ass" comments. A topic about The Last of Us Remasted for PS4, which releases on July 29th in the US. A story of riding outside of an airplane, comparing early builds of games to screen-caps from YouTube... and some amazing eye-popping artwork. Plus, because.

Do you think GTAV may be a good game to try to change my mind on the series? I've never cared for it and thought IV was absolute trash but that remaster is tempting.

I've been a GTA fan since the first one in '97, so I'm a bit biased, but I thought GTA V was much, much better than IV. IV is the worst 3D GTA.

You guys should realize those screens are 200kb, a 1080p JPG should be about 1-2.5mb
png/bmp is the best for screenshots

I have one too telling me how much better could it possibly look. Trying to explain the difference to someone whos not that tech savy is really annoying. I barely played the mp which was fantastic when i did so thats definitely another reason upon many to get it again.

I'm slowly reading through this thread, catching up, and sheesh, some of the comments I'm reading...

It's a remaster, not a remake. Surely the definitions of both of those words is understood by everyone, right? I was expecting The Last of Us at 1080p, 60fps, and the benefit of the infinitely superior Dual Shock 4 controller. From what I see in these screens, the difference is very, very clear.

TLOU was a gorgeous game. It should be, it was a late generation PS3 title, with all of Naughty Dog's expertise from developing three Uncharted games ending out their run on the PS3. TLOU was a masterclass for them in terms of milking the PS3 hardware and showing off what they learned.

TLOU on the PS4 is simply them revisiting what they accomplished on the PS3, and polishing it. What I'm seeing from these screens is a nice coat of polish that the PS3 version lacked. I'd played the original on a 40" 720p set. I thought it looked amazing. With this remaster, I'll be playing it on a 40" 1080p set, and I can tell already it's going to be quite a treat.

There are so many PS3 titles I'd love to have the opportunity to play at 1080p/60fps, and I hope more developers consider revisiting some of their best titles on the PS4 in the form of remasters.

Hell, I get all dreamy eyed when I think of the chance to play the Ratchet & Clank Future Saga (especially A Crack in Time) on the PS4, in 1080p, 60fps. I think my mouth waters at the notion, actually.

Were people actually expecting TLOU PS4 to look like Uncharted 4? :/

While I didn't think 4 was trash, I too didn't really care for GTA as a series even despite it being one of the best open worlds around. (I LOVE open world.)

GTA has always been a bit lukewarm...but 5....hotdamn 5 is truly awesome. It's a treat to lose hours just finding as many little, out of the way details that they've put in there.

I can't wait for the re-release since I didn't get to play it in HD on the 360. It of course differs, but I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

You mentioned this before but if you don't like playing as a criminal, believe me GTAV is not the game for ya dude.

Insane For Sony
TBH, that's always kind of the case with share feature screens. Anytime I see the screens I've made of Trine 2, KZ:SF and Infamous, they always look somehow crappy compared to what the actual game looked like when I played it. JPG puts them through a blur filter, and even worse it looks like the colours are always sightly messed up / washed out compared to the actual game play. 200K JPG quality is just not enough for this resolution.

There's a way to get the raw files off the PS4 - I think with a thumb drive.

These screenshots don't look very attractive, but it's a case like inFamous, I'm imagining, where I'm basically thinking how bleh the screenshots looked but then in-game the game looks effing amazing.
Regardless, I'm still getting this so I can play the multiplayer with my buddies on party chat instead of randoms on PS3.
