So hows Eliza coming along? She is gonna come out soon from what I remember reading, right?

I honestly should get used to visiting the community threads....

The main thing left is voice work.

We've recorded all the voices for Eliza and her crew now, but Vince still needs to cut them up and script them in the game. Scheduling all of these actors during the summer was pretty difficult, and was a delay we didn't expect.

While he's doing that, Earl will finish up her tutorials, Ian will finish up her AI, and Alex will finish up her action shot.

Then we'll do some QA testing before submitting it to MS and Sony.

Should have more than just crotch jiggle to show for Beowulf, soon. His preproduction is progressing pretty rapidly.

Does it feel like each character is smoother to implement than the last?

Lobbies pushed back to Beowulf/RoboFortune

With the PS4/Vita ports happening, was LZG able to grab an extra person to help work out lobbies?

My guess is it depends on the character. Some you just know are gonna be a lot of work when you design them. I'm betting you feel me on that one. How's dev goin?
A combination of a neighbor who has gone berserk on me this last week to the point of violence and starting a new job has put everything on hold. Have to make the paycheck - you know how that is. I am writing ideas down when I get them, but no coding at the moment. Just design. You?

No doubt every character is different, but I would think that the actual processing gets smoother. Mariel posted a piece of early (IIRC) Filia animation on her site and said it looked bad, and that she has improved a ton. I thought it looked fantastic, though. That kind of advancement is what I was referring to.

Eliza is our most complicated character to date, so... no.

But I think Beowulf and Robo-Fortune are going to feel easy compared to Eliza.

Not exactly.

I'm told that PS3 lobbies are getting close, but that's because that's the first step to getting them up and running on PS4 and Vita.

QA testing for lobbies is going to be expensive and time-consuming, and Eliza is far enough behind that we don't want to delay her further for something so unpredictable.

Honestly though, after Eliza I'm pretty sure that anything other than maybe Ileum, Venus, and Aeon would feel easier.

Eliza Winpose Design Contest

The entries will be judged by Lab Zero Games!

Submitted costumes will not appear in game.

Ooh, I should try entering.

Meh. Not as exciting as yours. I'm settling into the third week at the new job at the power plant and waiting to get paid so I can purchase the license to my engine I need to get at its source code. Other than that not too much given how much of my evenings is in mapping out the power plant systems I'm working on. New place means a lot of new stuff to familiarize with.

I really envy the pen and ink work sometimes as I look around in my CG software though. You don't know how many times I've been messing with something and just thinking to myself "God I could just fucking draw this frame and get the smooth in/out and all the squash and stretch perfect that way."

Sacrifices are made I guess. Less intuitive to produce assets for, but more freedom of customization . My own damned fault though...I draw shit way too detailed to ever wanna animate that shit. I blame my love of tokusatsu and Marc Silvestri.

Word of advice Lab Zero...go showa era if you ever make something based off of Tokusatsu and don't base your armor off of fucking Angelus art by Stjepan Seijic. Not unless you want animators to commit suicide.

Good; it's a travesty that they weren't receiving money to begin with. LabZero is one of my favorite devs out there. Skullgirls is a quality game that they put a lot of detail and effort into just to make it as polished as possible (I'm pretty sure some animation frames are blood/sweat/tear stained). I'm going to start gifting this game so hard now.

Excited to see Beowulf's coming along nicely; of all the Kickstarted characters, he was the one I was most hyped for (Not to say the other 4 aren't amazing themselves, though)!

Any gifs or webms of Beowulf? I can't load some of the past broadcasts on Labzero's twitch channel or any twitch channel. : (

edit: Nevermind I found a video.

Ok, so I've just bought the game plus the color and squigly dlc pack that is on offer in gmg. Hope to enjoy it as much as other gaffers seem to :)

Can't wait for Beowulf... and Eliza's story mode. (It took about 6 weeks after Big Band was finished to get through testing and stuff right? So Eliza's probably 6 weeks away too...)

Honestly preferred him like he was before. He still looks good though!

I'm really glad they fixed his legs though, they were too disproportionately thin.

Looking forward to my stuff! :D

TBH the money was well spent irregardless of the add-ons. And I kinda wish I upgraded to the CD. But hey, I was poor.
