seems its easy, as expected and advertized by streamers. Im ok with that, I have little time and too many games these days. Dark Souls difficulty was something I learned to live with, not something I cherrished

but Im someone that plays every game on normal if given the chance, and I fully understand how this would turn some people off

Yup I've got no qualms with that. May have to wait on this one personally though, got my money prioritized elsewhere.

I have a PC copy preloaded, but I'm waiting to hear impressions before I boot up. Hearing some rumblings that the game is fucking with rigs in its current state.

I bet someone will just modify the game to make it a bit harder. Make enemies do more damage or modify the damage of your overpowered abilities.

Looking at that IGN video review, the framerate was choppy as hell in places and it looked like the PC version.

Looks like Kevin VanOrd, reviewer for Gamespot, is really enjoying the game.

Ya looks like someone emailed out the wrong time to a bunch of people for the review. 1 group saying 9pst others saying 12pst. Looks like reviews are starting to come out.

My Take-Rated it a Wait for A Sale
Pro's:
Weapons/armor/runes and that entire system was a joy
Mostly enjoyable combat
Amazing music
Excellent Sound
Some fun boss battles

Con's:
Lots of bugs
Mazelike areas don't make sense even in a Dark Souls way. Seems to be a maze just to be a maze with doors leading to rooms and so forth with no real reason other than...to have them.
Enemies have very little variation
Lots of little inconsistencies in the animation, combat, and overall world actions
Voice over is good but has 1-2 characters that are severely MISS on the hit and miss scale
Unstable during gameplay.-12+ crashes

Overall it was pretty fun but lots of problems holding it back and more bugs than I really ever expected.

Yeah def some confusion on the embargo stuff. So oh well. Review is rendering now and will be up when it's done :D Expect a 20 minute, fairly detailed review.

Its not a bad game and as a copy of previous games I think people thought that it might have been a cheap cash in. But instead its a fairly solid title. Not great. But ok and that alone is sort of surprising.

I think we've been seeing quite a few "surprises" in these past few months. Shadow of Mordor, Alien Isolation, and now this.

The game is like ~9.6gb(?) on PS4. So I don't imagine it would take long to install on either PS4 or XBO.

Wait was Mordor a surprise? That seemed destined to be huge.
But Alien ya. Even I was amazed when playing it.

But my point wasn't about those other games. It was about a very close copy of a game and its type in a cash in sense almost and how it turned out well. Which Mordor and Alien aren't in the same category IMHO.

It's a licensed game (even if it's not directly based on the movies), and when it first revealed everyone just knocked it off as a
clone of AC and Arkham (which to be fair the game does share similarities.) At least I saw a lot of hesitation, even when we started to see the Nemesis system which could have easily turned out awful.

I can make a review thread!

The running theme in these reviews is "good but buggy."

Which is a good sign. I already have it downloading but maybe I'll let it bake a few days hoping for a patch or two. Need to finish Evil Within anyway.

Yep, perfectly fine because bugs can be worked out. A bad game can't be worked out.

Review thread is up: Here.

I'll try to keep it up to date while I do some studying. :)

Cheers Korten, adding to OP.

This is definitely one I would recommend grabbing for those both interested in the Souls games and those put off by them. It has bugs, as any game does, but for the most part it is quite a solid RPG and seeing someone beside FROM take that style of play and do their own thing with it is great.

Damn, all these reviews made my night. I was so worried that all the big outlets would trash the game. Love that's getting love. :) Makes me even more hyped!

I hate asking this question but do we know what res/frame rate this is on Xbox One? Tossing up whether or not to get it for PC.
