I'm finished. Not quite perfect, but suitable.

Bummer that you can't change the body size.

Anyone else getting small dips in fps that lasts only a second or so? Game runs amazingly well at 60fps but getting random dips to 40-50fps that lasts like a second or so.

I understand Cutscenes are locked 30fps for consistency, but it's stuttering on my end.

i5 Haswell
HD7970
Ultra textures
SSAO
Medium Tesselation
High everything else
no MSAA

The game goes 70-80fps on starting zone.

I'm getting quite alot of stutter, especially in cutscenes. Not bad fps, but shittons of stutter.
Could it be that i have mantle enabled? Maybe i should wait to use it until we have optimized drivers.

Played for a bit, haven't left the starting zone yet, but this is my performance:

i7 870 @ 2,93 ghz
GTX 460 1 GB
8 GB ram
1920x1080
medium settings

Starting zone runs around 40 fps. Some dips to 30, but never below. Game still looks quite good at medium (except the hair, looks like plastic, which option will change this?)
I do get a stutter of about a second every minute or so. Kinda annoying, but doesn't impact playability.

Pretty sure the hair looks awful no matter the setting.

Couple maybe dumb questions:

Any guesses as to why my refresh rate is 59.94 instead of 60? I've looked in my NVidia control panel, it's set to 60. If I click the resolution over right once, it's the exact same (1920 x 1080 59.95Hz) which seems odd.

Also, what is up with that last option? Is that normal? I don't know what else could/would be available other than Direct3D11, but I was just curious.

wow, the tactical view sure doesnt let you zoom out a lot, you clearly don't have an overview of the battle. you see much more in action mode.

the game doesnt even let you select multiple characters to give all of them move and attack commands at the same time.

and whats that dumb star in the middle when I pan the camera in tactical mode? I cant even move the camera over obstacles like rocks if they get in the way of that dumb console selection star.

after the first few small battles. tactical combat feels VERY bad, very console focused and poorly optimized for pc controls. DA2 felt much much better, and lets not talk about origins.

Does the dpad work in menus on consoles? I find it really strange that it doesn't seem to on PC. Probably the main thing keeping me with kb/m controls.

It's basically an action game, still using the press A to awesome mentality.

Man. This Keep thing is a cool idea in theory, but it's taking fucking forever for me to go through and make all my choices. I'm obviously cross referencing with that dialogue wheel site. I wish they could have imported our saves to the Keep. They have our characters already, shit.

Hopefully our DA:I choices are automatically synced...

So for PC are you guys using controller or KB+M? I want to use the latter but initial reports said controller was much easier to use.

It didnt seem to do anything in most menus, which was a bit annoying during my 6 hour trial. Kept trying to use it during the main menu.

How confident in that are you? So like the poison bombs and such will work with a bow shot?

Mark of Death, Knockout Bomb, and Hidden Blade work from long-range. I don't care for the Focus ability but since Mark of the Rift works for all classes this isn't a deal breaker. The spec is stealth oriented though so you'll need it to put a couple points in subterfuge.

So here's what I want to know: Does this game suffer from "Ubisoft game symdrome" or "AAA feature bloat"?

Every positive review I've read talks about how much content is in the game and how much shit there is to stumble upon. That's great, but most big-budget games try to do that now and just end up with a shitload of uninteresting content vomited all over the landscape. What I want to know is, how well is DA:I's geography plotted out? Do places on the game's map actually stoke curiosity or does it just give you icons on a map to move towards? Does the side content actually feel worth doing or is it just collect-a-thon bullshit?

Feels like the PC controls suffered for the gamepad. Hopefully I'll manage though.

I'm also moving down from nightmare to hard because of the controls.
